When Bruce Wayne was seven years old, he never thought of much more than the other kids, a summer day was simple and fun. His parents did not require him to have extra studies during the July break, Alfred always brought him cold lemonades and his dog was all wet by the garden sprinklers, of course, before the dog dug his mother's favorite flowers.
For a child full of brilliance and joy like Bruce Wayne, the dog all wet and muddy was great fun only, Alfred mourned internally when he saw the muddy mess that boy and dog left in the mansion's rooms.
By this time Butler Alfred Pennyworth had his face expressionless and always looked serious and polite, an English butler model. Mr. Wayne always played with little Bruce that this butler was serious about.
That night Bruce Wayne felt things were going to be different, he just got the feeling something big was happening this summer.
"Today has the rain of shooting stars!" Little seven-year-old Bruce Wayne looked excited. He had never seen a shower of shooting stars before, so his parents would take him to the highest, most beautiful, and most expensive place in all of Gotham City.
Gotham's observation tower was at Gotham University, between the department of astronomy and physics.
It was late July and soon classes started again, but Bruce Wayne, who was usually reluctant to go to school, was excited about today. His parents brought them to the highest place and he was within reach of the large telescope, which had been another of Mr. Wayne's donations to the astronomy department.
"Look that mom, it's started," Bruce Wayne said cheerfully, making his parents smile at him.
Star rain was quite common in summer, but as Gotham City was a city on an island, it was a city of great development, which meant by heavy pollution and lately it was also becoming much more violent.
Soon it was not as safe to do as the other cities that went to the parks to see with the naked eye the rain of stars. That was worrying Mrs. Wayne, but Mr. Wayne just said it was a bad phase of Gotham City, so everything would be better again.
That was the thinking of rich people, they were unattainable.
Bruce Wayne didn't know what his parents were thinking and neither of the concerned look exchanges they exchanged a short time ago was focused on the shower of stars.
Suddenly a big red "star" cuts across the sky, that was a big, attractive star, but that star didn't fade or disappear like the others, this big star seemed to be getting closer and closer.
"Emergency… Emergency…" the sound of a mechanical voice can be heard inside the great observation tower, quickly several students and teachers were running around with various papers with dice in their hands.
Bruce Wayne looked at everything curiously, until he forgot about the big red star that was approaching the city abnormally.
The impact of the great star was tremendous, all Gotham City shook and even some buildings were damaged and fell, for some time chaos reigned in this developed city.
Bruce was held by his parents as he hurried out of the high tower, the world that night went into chaos. People screaming and cars honking in a hurry as if a great storm was approaching the island of Gotham City.
Later that year, his father, Thomas Wayne, read the news that day and about the government investigation into what had happened that day. There were many reports that something huge had fallen into the ocean, probably some piece of a meteorite or even parts of a spaceship.
The government took care of everything and removed the piece of meteorite for study purposes, the city of Gotham that was experiencing a social and financial crisis, became an even more dangerous place after that event. As several social institutions were damaged by the "earthquake," which made life difficult for civilians, allowing room for the growth of corrupt mafias and government officials.
This was the beginning of Gotham City's most violent years, almost a year later Bruce Wayne would not remember the dazzling red star, since in his mind there would only be June 26 and the burial of his own parents.
Who would have thought that this day would be the beginning of an intergalactic war that would endanger the existence of the earth?
