"Everything down there has gone to shit Del. The Seventh ward has fallen and the only two wards left are the Eighth and the First. From what I last heard of the First their thinking of surrender due to heavy losses."

Val slammed his hands on my oak desk.

Rain was playing with some colorful wooden blocks in a corner. Damnit I hope Orion approves and we can introduce him to Star soon.

"IF WE DON'T TAKE SOME FORM OF ACTION AGAINST HER WE'RE ALL FUCKED!"

"DAMN IT VAL!! Don't you think I know that? She has most all of the other Sins on her side, not to mention the people of the ninth ward. And after what she did to Jacket and Cobra do you really think any of our siblings would dare betray her?"

Val speaks up excitedly,

"YES!! THAT'S THE EXACT REASON WHY THEY WOULD! SHE KILLED OUR ELDEST BROTHERS!"

I stand up abruptly from my chair and put my face right up in his,

"SINCE WHEN HAVE YOU EVER CARED ABOUT THAT?! THE ONLY REASON YOU WERE THERE THAT DAY WAS TO GIVE MOTHER DEAREST A SPY REPORT!"

Rain looks like he's about to cry, the yelling must have scared him.

Val takes a step back he looks upset, I brought up bad memories again. I lean into the deask. I can see clearly in my mind's eye what happened that day, a private execution, hosted by Lust or should I say "Her Majesty", for her own amusement, and as a twisted sort of lesson for her offspring.

I don't know about the others but the only thing I learned that day was not to trust that black eyed skank as far as I can throw her. but val knew them better than I ever could, the were brothers but even if they hadn't been... I think they would have still been friends.

"Val I'm sorry, I'm just stressed. I didn't mean for it to come out like..... well like that."

Val turns twords Rain, frowns, and than looks back at me.

" I'll get out of your hair so you can look after the new addition."

He turns to walk away,

"Oh!"

He turns back around and starts walking backwards a smile plastered on his face not a fake one, it's to obviously genuine.

" I should tell you that mother's planning a little surprise, I don't know much about it other than it involves one of our youngest brothers. There is something strange about him though."

I raise up from my slouched position.

"I'm intrigued. Please do tell."

he turns back around once he gets to the ebony door so he's facing the hallway he grins, the shape smile of a predator and slightly unfurls the wings on his back. He glances back at me with eyes like her's.

"This one has a name."

he walks out the door, I bolt after him franticly. Rain looks confused and tries to follow (Adorably failing).

"VAL!"

he's already halfway to the door.

"Val! What's his name?"

everyone else in the casinos apartments don't even bat an eye, yelling at Val is something everyone expects, even Val.

"HIS NAME VAL WHAT IS IT?"

I shout at him from the stairwell as everyone else in the area hears a beep.

Valentino smiles up at me and responds with a French accent,

"sorry brother, but I'm late for work."

he disappears out the door only two feathers remaining.

I squat to scoop up Rain.

"Hello there little one! sorry about that me and your uncle are in a rough spot."

He just smiles, for the first time I notice he has his mother's kind yellow eyes.

"GAH!"

He begins to giggle to himself. I smile or try to at least. Standing I put Rain in the crook of my left arm and tickle him with my right, he giggles I laugh.

"let's introduce you to your father, shall we?"

I begin to walk out of the room.
