Preperation

I wake up to a soft hand on my cheek, "Tallia?" I hear a soft voice say, "Can I sleep with you? I'm scared."

The voice and hand belong to Navi. We've been in this fort for a week. He's been having nightmares about a war that kills the people in this fort and some beyond. I've been trying to tell Donae and Nilicas but they would not listen.

"Navi, tell me of the dreams," I say lightly patting his back.

"They're scary," he says. "Everything gets destroyed, everyone killed, and only I had survived because I hid."

"Where am I in this dream?"

"You were forced to march in front of the fort army," he says, sounding like he's going to cry. "You were the first to die. They had dragons on their side, no one stood a chance."

I think on this for awhile, "Navi, how do you think we could win?"

He looks up at me, "You have to get dragons to fight with us."

~~

"Nilicas!" I yell running through the fort.

"Calm down or you're going to make the whole fort go crazy," Nilicas says walking out of the forts main building.

"They have dragons on their side," I say breathless from the screaming. "We don't stand a chance unless we get dragons to help us."

"As amazing as that would be," he says wrapping his arm around my shoulder and the smell of alcohol finds its way to my nostrils, "we have no clue where to start looking for dragons."

"I do," I say looking to the sky. "I feel where they are. There are three in this fort, one right outside, and four in the town we passed on our way here."

"Only dragn blooded people can feel the presence of dragons," NIlicas says annoyed.

"I am dragon blooded. How do you think Dracome could speak to me in his sleep," I say. "I read the old books in the castle library. I know some things."

"Who are these dragons?"

"I will speak with them," I say backing away from him. "You just get some rest."

"Fine," he says stomping off like a small child.

"That man shouldn't lead an army," I say shaking my head and walking towards the forge.

~~

"Hello, sir," I say to the forge master.

"Please, call me Eldrige," he says looking up at me.

"Eldrige, do you know where dragons are located?" I ask.

"You're looking at one," he says motioning to himself. "My two sons here are dragons as well."

"Will you and your sons fight as dragons on our side?" I ask curiously. "Or find some dragons to join our side?"

"We will speak to other dragons and discuss fighting in dragon form," he says placing a hand on my shoulder. "You must train with all of your powers because you have the power of the mästare."

"The mästare? Me? No," I say shaking my head, "you're mistaken. The mästare holds the power of all magik groups."

"You are special," Eldrige says standing to return to his work. "You just don't know how special yet."

~~

"Donae, we need to talk," I say running to catch up to him.

"About what?" He says falling into step with me.

"I talked to the forge master Eldrige. He said I was the mästare," I whisper as we pass a market stall.

He stops and grabs my arm, "Let's go somewhere more private."

~~

"Nobody was supposed to tell you," Donae says pacing the floor. "You were supposed to figure out in battle."

"Why in battle? Since I know, not believe, now why don't I train?"

"I hadn't thought of that," he says looking at me. "That's brilliant!" I watch him walk out to talk to someone about me training and he turns and grabs me. "Come on. You'll start today."
