Chapter Five - A Saviour

The orcs that were rushing towards Noah suddenly stopped and looked into the skies. They recognised the roar but they didn't understand why it was here in the forest. They knew that was a dragon's roar.

Only the sound of a dragon's roar could scare every single orc into freezing and looking into the skies. Some had actually started shaking and shouting towards their leader with their primal grunts. They wanted to run now. To forget the stupid man child and run.

None of the orcs had the power to fight a dragon and they knew that.

The leader looked into the skies before smashing his club into the side of Noah's head. Noah fell and laid over the body of the beast person. His breathing haggard.

ROARRRR - another roar went out and there was a whistling sound. There was a loud crunch and scream as one of the Orcs fell. On top of its body a crouched down, his two feet breaking the ribs of the orc under them and squishing the organs underneath.

"Fuck, what did you get yourself into Noah?" a whisper from the stranger.

The unknown man dressed in a cloak took it off dropping it onto the ground, underneath was an aged Isan. The roar of his dragon in the air. He was set up in a light set of armour, chest of chain mail, some leather trousers and shoes. Equipped was a sword in a golden sheath.

Isan counted the remaining Orcs, including the leader there was eight left. 'What was your plan here Noah? Why were you even here in the first place?'

Pulling his sword from the sheath, the handle made from dark wood. The guard from precious metal with runes covering it. The blade a teal blue lighting up once it was completely unsheathed.

Isan dealt with the closest three altogether, in one fell swoop he lopped off the three of their heads like he was cutting butter with a hot knife. The orcs let out screams. The remaining four all looked at each other except the leader who was staring at Isan with pure hate. Sure the young human had knocked two of its underlings out but this man had killed three. That would mean nothing except death for him.

The leader shouted orders out to the remaining orcs and they all gulped before charging in clubs raised. If only they realised they were going against a Dragon Trooper, who was trained from a child to be the strongest of the strong defending their country.

Isan didn't hold back, blocking the first hit and countering. Stabbing the gut of the attacker. Instead of pulling the sword out he pushed it to the side with his strength it easily cut through the orcs body nearly splitting it in half.

The orc behind it threw its club at Isan's head trying to distract him from an orc charging up behind him, who was winding up a big swing. Isan muttered a few words and the club stopped moving towards him and instead flew back to the Orc that threw it. It didn't have time to react as the club smashed into its skull knocking it out cold.

Isan didn't even watch the orc get knocked out. He immediately turned to face the foe coming at him from behind, easily parrying the club before chopping off the orc's arm at the elbow. The orc fell to its knees in pain screaming.

Knowing that the orc wouldn't challenge him anymore, Isan faced the last of the group. Just one more underling and the leader. Isan stared at the orcs and started to talk Orcish, "What are you doing so close to the village? You should already know there are Dragon Troopers watching over the villages."

The leader started grunting back at Isan, "We came to take what was ours before the stupid boy interrupted us, he wouldn't have even been hurt if he had moved on."

The minion of the leader seemed to be confused if he should attack or not, so he went to his comrade's side who had earlier had his arm chopped off. Pulling him up he started to retreat, but he would soon learn his mistake.

ROAR

Snapping branches could be heard. Pouncing down from the sky a dragon the size of a house crushed the two retreating orcs. Biting ones head and then the other it devoured them like they were nothing.

The dragon was blue in colour but under different light, the hue would change from a dark royal blue to light turquoise, under the trees scattered sunlight the dragon looked like a dark sea blue. After finishing its meal it turned and faced the leader along with Isan.

Isan smiled towards his partner and shook his head. Walking towards the leader he asked, "What is so important about that beast person that you chased them nearly all the way to the village for?"

The leader of the orc group finally seemed to have some fear. He knew he didn't have much of a chance against the human man but he knew for sure that there was no way he could survive against the dragon.

The leader looked down at the knocked out Noah and made a choice he wouldn't have long to regret. He grabbed Noah's unconscious body and held him by the throat, "Come closer and I will kill him. All you humans look after each other, so you wouldn't like this would you?" Closing his hand around Noah's throat until his face became blue.

The dragon roared at the orc leader and opened it's mouth as if it was going to breathe fire on the two of them, but Isan held his hand up and told his partner to stop.

Isan picked up a small stone, looking the orc in the eyes with a sad expression before whispering something to the rock. It shot out of his hand like an arrow out of a quiver. The leader didn't have time to react, he simply died on the spot.

Isan sighed before smiling at his partner, "Well at least we got to judge his abilities before testing them against one of the Dragon Squad. He has done well for doing this all by himself." Isan walked to his partner and grabbed two blankets off the saddle that was at the base of his dragon's neck.

The dragon eyed the human boy up. Speaking directly into Isan's head, "The boy does have potential. We may have been sending the practising techniques to him but he has managed to train by himself very well. If we take him in he has a good chance of becoming a knight of the kingdom."

While his partner was talking to him Isan was wrapping both Noah and the beast person in his cloak. lifting them both up, one arm each as if it was nothing and carrying them to the dragon before jumping on. "Alright, let us get this visit over and go see Nereem."
