During the two's warm embrace they heard the door open and a high voiced "Oh", which both Noah and Nereem recognised it to be the young healer from earlier. Slowly parting they faced her.
Nereem stepping forward with a small smile, "I have thought it over and I would like to stay and learn to become a healer like you Sara. That is if your master will still have me." Taking a small step forward closer to Sara and away from Noah.
Watching his mother take that small step was all Noah needed to see to know she was serious about letting him grow. He took a look around the room for his clothes while his mother started speaking to Sara about wanting to join the Dragon Keeps healers.
Their chat went on for five minutes before Sara broke out of it realising that she had to take Noah to the recovery office to return everything he had. She only broke out of the conversation because she saw that Noah was looking lost around the room.
"Why don't we let Noah get ready to leave in the office and while he does that I will take you to Mistress Renn?" Sara opened the door she just came from and slowly walked out with Nereem and Noah following her.
When they walked into the corridor Noah looked left and right, it was quite a long tunnel, built into the white walls were the same runes from his room which gave off a dim warm light so you could see in the tunnel.
There was a door opposite the one they came out of but Sara and his mother both turned and walked down the right side of the tunnel. They walked halfway down to the exit passing multiple other rooms before they came to a room with a double door made of oak.
It had a word written on it but as Noah couldn't read he could not tell what it said and just followed the healer and his mother in. The room was nearly double the size of his. There were three desks lined up one behind each other with a chair in between them. On the desk were various pieces of paper and lots of different flasks with different concoctions in them.
After walking into the room Sara stopped talking and stared at potions.
"..."
"Noah, did I give you the potion to drink from your room?"
Shaking his head, "No you left earlier then I and mother talked for a bit before coming back."
Sara briskly walked over to Noah and put her index and middle finger against his neck's pulse. She had her lips tightly pushed together and seemed to be thinking. The issue is that Noah couldn't stop sweating when she did this.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, she stopped and rushed out the door. Both Noah and Nereem were surprised, they weren't sure what the issue was but stayed where they were. Noah finished looking around the room, at the back end of the room there were various cupboards spaced evenly out with different letters printed onto the wood.
Nereem looked curiously out the door until Sara came back clutching the black potion that was in the previous room. She basically forced it down Noah's mouth as he stood there shocked. His mother wasn't sure what to do but she trusted whatever Sara thought best was the right way forward.
Noah was shocked and by the time he realised that Sara was force-feeding him, he could taste the black concoction. It was possibly the worse thing he had ever tried before. It tasted like water from the river.
Gagging and pushing back away from her as best as he could, he was surprised at Sara's strength managing to overpower him. All he could do is accept that he had to drink it. As he got passed the awful taste he could feel it trickle down his throat like it was cold honey.
As it hit his stomach he could feel the release of warmth start to come out from him. He felt like he had just woken up fresh again but this time with ten times the energy. Inspecting his hands as they started to tingle, Noah felt like he could see a dim white light come from them but when he asked his mother she just shook her head and looked at Sara for help.
"It is a potion to help wake a person's magic up, so when he comes to visit if he accidentally looks at the Emperor's mansion again he won't be as injured." Sara pulled the flask out of his mouth before moving to the desk and leaving it there. Keeping it to herself that Noah shouldn't really be able to move for at least a week after the time he spent staring into the Abyss.
Sara showed Noah to his cupboard where his clothes were currently folded and being stored in. Letting him take out his shirt and trousers, along with his shoes. Noah looked up at his mother and Sara, "Do I change here or back in my room?"
Giggling at Noah, "Here is fine, I saw everything when we cleaned you up anyways and your mother is your mother. Just to let you know Sir Isan is on his way to come and collect you to leave, so you might want to change now.." Noah nodded and faced his back to her.
Pulling off the white top that someone had put on him earlier and showing his back to the two. Sara ignored it and started talking to Nereem about how her Master was looking forward to teaching Nereem.
After changing Sara led the mother and son duo to an entrance that Hallan was resting in. Isan was standing on his shoulder, searching through the saddles bag for something. Sending a mental message to Isan to let them know they had company, Isan jumped down and walked over with a smile on his face.
Knowing that Noah must have been successful in his chat with Nereem had a tinge of sadness in her eyes as well as that he could hear Sara talking about the training schedules and what kind of people were in them currently.
Clasping Noah's shoulder he checked in with Noah, "Are you ready to leave?"
Exchanging looks with his mum, seeing her smile and nod. He was ready to leave and she was ready to let go. As he didn't take anything with him it was one more embrace with his mother before climbing on to Hallan's leg.
He managed to get on to the saddle and looking down at his mother and then his eyes switched to Sara, looking her up and down. His eyes lingering a little longer on her smile before blushing and waving at his mother to cover his face a little.
Isan jumped on to the saddle behind Noah and they slowly moved to the edge of the building, the light at the entrance pouring over them. Hallan walked onto the edge and allowed Noah to give his mother one more wave before dropping like a rock by stepping off the floor.
Hallan raised his wings to navigate past other dragons leaving and entering the Dragon Keep. The wind rushed through Noah and Isan's hair, yet Noah couldn't feel the cold or the wind pushing him back.
After dropping just passed a 150 metres Hallan twisted his wings to change the angle he was flying in seconds and shoot off, gliding without having to do any work. It felt great for Noah to be out again, he couldn't help but enjoy the sensation of the wind going through his hair and the sun on his skin. The clouds were soon underneath them and they started slowing down, the boost from the drop had run its course.
Beating his wings Hallan pushed forward taking them to just passed the edge of the Edgur ring. Isan finally started telling Noah where his new mentor was. Sir Alan had found him in a forest halfway through the Sil ring. He was right beside a small lake that was hidden by the trees.
Instead of landing and getting off Hallan as they did previously, Isan told Noah that they were going to do a Trooper drop. Isan would cover the two in magic and they would fall to where they needed to be and land like that. Hallan would fly to Isan's home and act like that is where they truly took him.
Noah's mouth clenched. Thinking of the fall that would mean, he stared back at Isan. "Is that possible?" His eyes gave off a look of concern, fist-clenching against the strap on the saddle.
"Do not worry it will be fine. I have equipment for you when we land I will give it to you."
They flew for another few minutes before Isan wrapped his arms under Noah's shoulder, "Just so you don't get scared and try to stop me I will count down from 3 and then pull us off." Isan tightens his grip. Noah could see a barrier flow out of Isan's body in a light blue hue that covered them up.
1...
2...
Isan dropped out pulling Noah with him. Noah let out a scream as they dropped, even though they were already 30 metres away he could hear the chuckle from Hallan as he glided away. Isan held on tightly to Noah as they dropped through the clouds.
The wind didn't make a noise to either of them but Noah didn't notice that. It only took 40 seconds before the top of the trees started to hit them but every branch that hit them would bounce off without actually damaging them.
Isan whispered something that Noah couldn't pick up over his screams, but there was a rush of wind below them and it slowed them completely down before they landed. Isan hit the ground first back first, with a large crunch most would think that he would be completely broken.
Noah was laying there on top of Isan his breathing had been short and lacked from the screaming. He tried his best to stand up but his legs would give out before he could properly stand up. Isan stood up after Noah had first tried to get up.
Having no injuries just brushing the dirt off of him then letting Noah wrap his arm around his neck and shoulder to stand upright. Laughing at Noah who was struggling, " Quite the landing, huh?"
Looking around Noah saw that they had landed beside a small lake, surrounded by gigantic trees and between the tree's a small hut with a few windows letting out some light.
Noah looked at Isan then back at the hut, this is where his mentor lived, they slowly took their time over until Noah had complete control over his legs again. He was halfway there when he finally let go and walked by himself, every footstep felt heavier knowing that he was meeting the mentor Isan was friends with.
Isan walked up some steps to the house first, Noah following.
Knock - Knock - Knock
Time slowed down as the door opened and from inside a man wearing a black tunic, with long black hair. His eyes as dark as coal dulled over. Frowning, his nose crooked, making him look a bit like an eagle.
".."
"Hello... Isan."
