When Noah awoke the first thing he saw was a ceiling of wood, curving up to a circular hole. Feeling the blaze of fire to his left Noah stretched his legs under a blanket. The armour from earlier was no longer on him the only thing that was were a pair of shorts.
Looking around the room Noah saw that his master was sitting on the opposite side of the room on the other seats, sipping at some of the blue liquid in a glass which was a bit fancier than this morning.
"Sorry for fainting Sir Quin, I will not allow it to happen again tomorrow." Standing and bowing apologetically, at his poor performance from the sparring session.
"Stop. I am your master and you should be addressing me as Master only." Taking a large drink of his blue liquid and staring at Noah with his usual cold eyes.
There were a few seconds of silence where one would be able to hear the sound of a coin hitting the floor. Noah's lips went from ear to ear, knowing that he was finally accepted even though he had performed poorly. "Yes, Master. Sorry Master."
"Sit down you look dumb standing there with a dumb smile on your face. First, you will go wash from the lake and then we will sit down and I will teach you magic theory." His glass resting on his thigh with his hand holding on to it.
"Yes, Master!" quickly leaving to go do as instructed. Curious at to what magic theory was and why he was going to get to learn it. He basically ran to the lake and jumped in. Making sure to wash everywhere as he knew he had sweated ridiculous amounts through the morning.
As soon as the water touched his toe he regretted his choice to jump in. Once he was completely submerged and his head broke through the water and his mouth was letting out shivers from the freezing cold water.
His body was shaking yet he powered through cleaning himself up and leaving all within five minutes. Pushing himself up off the edge of the lake and onto shore he put on the shorts and walked back into the house.
"Master is there any drying cloths?" His skin seemed to be turning blue even in the fire's light.
"You idiot. Why didn't you ask before jumping in? It would serve you right to freeze to death here. Good thing for you I am not a fan of statues." Quin aimed his hand at Noah whispering, "Nithow" A warm gust of wind circled Noah. He could see little specks of dark light through the wind.
Once the wind had dried him off he took a seat, pulling over a shirt onto himself. Looking expectantly at his Master.
"You don't even want to eat before I tell you about magic?" Noah shook his head, keen to learn from Master Quin.
"Fine, it's your choice...
Magic comes in all sort of different forms. You can have spells, runes and aura. To start with anyone can learn magic words or runes but that will not matter if they cannot give aura off. To make a spell work aura needs to come from the body and sent to the mouth where the words come out of, the same premise for runes. You need to at least once apply aura either through your hands or through the pen while you write them.
That is the base of magic.
Now you might wonder why I chose to take you on properly but it is because you displayed quite the phenomenal aura when we battled. As we crossed swords to the end and I pushed you back I noticed you were starting to let aura out through your blade which made your attacks hit harder. Then at the climax of our spar, you let out a whole source of aura.
This is quite rare, normally you would have to be trained for at least half a year before managing to do what you did today. To get the aura flowing in your body you have to meditate for an hour a day at the minimum. I am curious how your aura will grow over time with me and that is why I have taken you on."
Slowing down in his explanation he took a big few gulps of his drink, draining it to the bottom and staring into the glass.
"Practice as I explain this...
Close your eyes. Breath in deeply through your mouth and let out the air from your nose. Feel the air come in and out of you."
Noah did as instructed when he closed his eyes making the world black he started the process of breathing in deeply. His master told him to do this for ten minutes before continuing.
"With each breath try and feel the little particles in the air. Feel them come and go with ease. When they reach your lungs I want you to picture the small particles staying there and gathering together instead of leaving. Picture hard, every particle different until it joins the group. When you feel a warmth in your chest nod your head and we will continue."
Noah did as he was told, imagining little balls of particles coming in and out. Gathering into a big pile on the inside of him. He could feel something but it wasn't warmth in his chest. It was a cold heat. Like ice against the skin.
The more the pile got bigger the feeling started to change but it was only making it hotter to be freezing soon after. He tried to speak but his mouth wouldn't let words out only pushing little particles out and not letting them in.
From the outside Quin analysed Noah, he hadn't told him any lies but the boy's face had screwed up and he seemed in pain which wasn't something that happened during this training. He didn't say anything just observing. When Noah's mouth opened to say something Quin saw black aura rush out and cover around his mouth, it was mixed with a white aura and similar to before the aura was fighting itself.
Sweat started to form on Noah's face, the harder he tried to talk the more particles he would lose but he could still sense them outside his mouth not moving. They just grew and grew, soon covering his lower face and slowly coming up his face. When the Particles hit his nose he started to feel like he was suffocating, he couldn't breathe in from his mouth or his nose.
Quin saw the aura spread down and slowly up when it hit Noah's nose he watched him slowly quickly turn red and he knew he had to stop him. Quickly standing up he ran over and slapped Noah who's eyes opened wide, breathing in deeply and gasping for breath.
"Mmmm I am going to have to think of a different way to train you, this was not normal." He sent out his own aura to feel the particles around Noah, what he felt scared him. They were all pent up and full of energy which would normally be when you would cast a spell. Gathering them was not meant to have that effect.
"Go and hunt yourself dinner. We are finished for tonight." Once again like the night before leaving the room and disappearing.
Noah stared at the door confused, he had thought he would learn more about magic theory but the more he thought of it he could understand why his Master stopped and left the lesson there. Clearly there was more he would have to learn but now he went hunting. Grabbing the knife and walking out behind his Master going to catch his meal before the sunset.
