Chapter Twenty Seven - The Giant Hog

An uncomfortable heat went down Noah's neck, a cold sweat starting at the bottom of his back the smell of blood reeked. Without even looking back, he started sprinting away from the growls behind him.

Hearing a loud snarl, the earth vibrated as if Hallan had just landed beside him. Noah rushed as fast as he could, jumping between trees but all that did seem to infuriate the beast behind him. Taking a chance he looked over his shoulder and just passed the backside of the hog over his shoulders; all he could see was a giant version of the Hog he had killed earlier.

"What the actual.." Being cut off by being hit by a horn from the giant hog behind him, hitting him 30 metres [90 ft] away and into a tree. His back cracking, the hog on his shoulders barely cushioning his head from smashing into the wood.

His back felt like it was broken; his breathing heavy after being winded from the hit and his head feeling like it was a boat on rough waters with every step he took trying to stand up. Looking up the giant hog stood taller than him, at two and a half meters tall [8.2 ft].

It stared him down. It's two eyes made him feel even smaller than he already was compared to it; the iris was pitch-black, stirring some memories of staring into a pit and hearing the screams of people he loved.

Shaking off the feeling he held his ground. He luckily had his sword with him the downside was it was heavily chipped and along the blade, there were deep cracks now after months of sparring with Master Quin.

Taking out his sword and raising it with two hands, shakily. His head was still trying to recover from the aftershock of what he had just experienced. Trying to stand still, he wobbled and took the best stance he could.

"You chose the wrong person to mess with." His hands gripping the handle, turning white. Noah was sure that the hog would be just as easy to take out as the smaller one, which he had just left lying and broken under the tree.

The hog rared its head and gripped the ground, tearing it up and throwing the dirt into the air behind itself. The muscles in its leg perturbing and showing their strength as it prepared to rush at Noah, wanting to kill him after he killed its young.

Only the sound of wind and Noah's deep breathing could be heard. His eyes focused on its muscles waiting for its lefts to make the first move; he knew he had to use magic aura but he wasn't sure. Pulling in the magic particles that were in the air, his sword filled with a black aura.

The smell of blood hit his nose when it kicked off charging at him. Noah jumped slicing at the hog's necked but being deflected by the horn on its forehead, pushing him back and twisting him in mid-air; barely having time to push off the ground and avoid being stamped on by its feet.

Where he had just avoided being stamped into was left with nothing but a hole. The power that the hog let out was more than he was used too, but that didn't stop Noah from stabbing into its legs and trying to injury it so it would at least slow down partially.

His sword bounced off the skin of the gigantic hog like it was nothing, not even a slight cut on its limb from his attempt at cutting it. "Damn it!"

Rolling out the way and standing up to see a horn rush his way, his sword blocking the hit but he could barely stand the hit and being forced back a few metres by flying into the sky only managing to survive the hit thanks to his magic aura covering his body.

The hog rushed him again as if it was the only move it knew. The horns aiming down at him while he prepared to defend yet again; trying to pierce his body and skewer him into the air. As the hog attacked his sword managed to just make a few centimetres cut into the horn, being blown back yet again.

This time instead of landing on his own feet, he hit a tree. The magic covering his body helped him take the impact but it still managed to make him cough a little blood up. Rolling out of the way of as it hit where he was just trying to gather his breath back.

Cursing, Noah took a last stand moment. He gathered all the magic particles he could into himself and forced them into his sword. Black and white aura lit from the sword and into the sky; fighting for control.

Barely noticing as he charged into battle, almost smoothly chopping the horn off of the hog except just before it could completely sever the horn; his sword broke into pieces. There was a large clang and the pieces of his sword shattered everywhere...

Only barely able to keep out of shock, he grabbed ahold of the leftover horn and pull it, trying to force the hog down onto one leg to give him enough time to retreat and recover. Huffing the hog rammed into him, his magic aura couldn't give him enough strength to hold on and he flew back; tearing what was left of its horn with him.

He landed back first against the hard ground, winding him for the second time. Cursing. The hog chased after him, letting out a snarl. It had noticed he had taken what was left of its horn with him and wanted to make him pay for everything.

In his hand, a horn of at roughly the same length as his sword was all he could use to stand and stab at the hog. Noah couldn't feel how easily his magic aura was taken in by the horn and only jumped at the attacked at the hog as it charged, trying to take out its eyes and making it handy capped.

The horn slid into the eye of the hog, making crimson blood rain everywhere and cover Noah as well as the ground around it in a deep red; the hog let out a scream. Kicking off its back legs and headbutting Noah away.

When he landed on the ground the wing was knocked out of him for the last time. His ears rang, his brain felt like mush and all the magic he had used had left his body leaving him feeling like a pale husk compared to earlier. All he could do was wheeze his breaths.

Not able to have his arms support him, Noah raised his heads and looked at the hog as it had both eyes closed; screaming in agony. His chest heated up all of a sudden and he noticed an aura come out of the ring and start covering him slowly.

While it was doing this, from the shadows, a man with white hair and a long white beard down this chest walked out from the shadows like he was there the whole time. Even though Noah's brain felt like mush he still remembered the last time that he saw that man. The Mausoleum.

Trying to scream a warning, his mouth was covered in the black aura stopping him. The aura made his body cold, freezing him to the core; all he could do was try and throw something at the man to get his attention but his body wouldn't listen to him.

He could only watch in expected horror to witness the man suddenly summon a white sword from nowhere and easily cut the other horn of the hog without magic. Finishing what was left of the animal and turning to Noah, smiling as he stared.

Noah felt a cold feeling run down his spine as he stared back into those piercing blue eyes, a similar feeling of staring into the abyss went through Noah making him shiver. The black magic aura completely covered him and quickly dissipated leaving nothing but the marked ground of where he had been thrown.
