Chapter Twenty Nine - The Egg

Noah's dream turned black, he couldn't see or feel anything other than the endless void of nothingness. It wasn't even cold where he was. Deciding to walk around and explore this void he walked for what felt like days without needing food or water.

There was no ground, there was no sky. With each step, Noah thought he would fall but he could only continue for some reason his curiosity was getting the better of himself. After the days of travelling in the void, he started to hear a beat; the beat sounded just like the one he felt in the mausoleum.

Thump... Thump... Thump...

Following the sound as best as he could, wandering endlessly the sound slowly got louder and louder. With every thump, he could start to feel his chest vibrate; like he was gathering magic in his centre and having it condense into a ball.

In the distance, a white light came from an egg-shaped object. It started off dim but with each thump of the beat; every step Noah took getting closer to it brightened even more. It was like the object was calling him to come closer and closer.

He felt like his mind had slowly become shrouded in a fog, even if there was nothing else in this void all he could do was keep his eyes on the egg-shaped object in front of him, once he was thirty metres [98 ft] away from it he saw it was just the same egg that the white dragon had clasped in its tail.

His heart started to beat faster from syncing the vibrations in his chest to doing nearly double the amount of beats compared to it. Noah tried to slow down and take his time getting closer to the egg but his feelings just couldn't allow it, he couldn't get his brain to control the large and quick steps he was taking to it.

At ten metres away [Just passed 30 ft] he could see that it wasn't truly smooth, it had bumps and indents running on the grey surface. There was dirt built along the bottom of the egg holding it upright in the void of space.

Noah's eyes widened the closer he got to it. He felt like the void had started changing the closer he got to it, feeling an energy in the air that wasn't there while he had aimlessly walked around; but

it wasn't quite magic particles.

It felt electrifying like he was being zapped the closer he got but it didn't hurt him it more felt like it gave him an adrenaline rush, making him want to move his body faster.

He stood only a metre [3 ft] away from the egg, admiring it. Knowing he was more likely dreaming than anything else, he could not help himself from admiring the egg. It was so realistic it felt like he could reach out and touch it.

Listening to the thumping beat which was coming from the egg made him want to reach out and feel it under his fingers. The light that had been coming from the egg had darkened and it was more a glow that illuminated both himself and the egg.

The beating had slowed down along with his own heart after reaching there, even with the electric feeling in the air which made was giving him the adrenaline like feeling had calmed down. It was just Noah and the egg, with a calming silence of nothing in the air.

At Noah's current height the egg was nearly a third of him. He had grown to 1.6 metres [5.2 ft] over the course of the months he had been training, originally when he had set off from his small village he was only 1.55 metres [ Just over 5 ft] tall.

Crouching down and slowly reaching his hand out, his heart was beating slowly against his chest syncing into the thumps from the egg.

The moment his hand touched the surface of the egg it felt like the energy in the air went from static similar to the winds of a storm. A white light suddenly surrounded his hand, the dim egg lighting up slowly.

Noah didn't know what was happening but he didn't feel any discomfort from the situation. He kept his hand on the egg moving his other hand alongside it.

When he touched the egg with his other hand instead of a white light a black light shone out of the egg and surrounded that hand.

All the energy that had suddenly started blasting around him stopped, he could slowly see the particles in the air as if they were magic particles but he could tell they were fundamentally different to the ones he was used to using while sparring with his Master.

They glowed as purple light particles, very different from how he witnessed magic particles which were normally either green; blue; white or red. All the purple particles slowly floated and glided down into the egg.

Submerging into it; with every particle, the beating would vibrate Noah's chest heavier. He felt the lights under his hand turn into a magic aura, starting to climb his arm and move closer to his chest.

Starting to panic a little, he tried to pull his hands off the egg and away from the magic aura which had was slowly burning his hands; one in heat the other in cold. No matter how strong he was, his hands were firmly staying on the egg. Noah tried to push the egg instead and make it fall over but it wouldn't budge.

Noah could only stare in wonder and fear as the egg slowly absorbed every purple particle in the area, leaving nothing but an endless black abyss in the place they were taken from. The vibration from the beating thumps was finally so strong it felt like he was being hit with a punch directly from Master Quin.

His face twisted; his eyes closed as tight as they could with his lips sealing themselves tightly. Taking every thump as best as he could. The light from both his hands had reached his shoulders, both arms felt in ridiculous pain.

One felt like it had been wrapped in a fire that a blacksmith would use to forge his weapons, the other felt like it had been dipped into the freezing waters of the North. So cold it could freeze a man in minutes.

Time ticked by slowly for Noah, the agony of the magic aura and vibrations made things drag out even longer but soon there were no particles in the room, they had all been absorbed by the egg. It let out a beam of grey light into the sky before rushing up Noah's arms and healing the injuries from the magic aura before.

The grey light moved to his chest and covered his whole body within seconds of that, making him feel like he was floating in a warm lake of water, healing the damage that had been done to his body.

The egg let out a loud - CRACK

A fissure appeared between Noah's hands, from the centre of one to the other a crack shaped like lightning was now along the surface, letting out the grey light even more and blinding Noah. He could hear more and more cracks and felt under his hand the change of the egg's surface.

He could feel the egg move under his hands, shaking from side to side.

Eventually, after a few seconds, his eyes adjusted to the bright grey light Noah could see...
