Chapter Forty Three - Turmoil (Part 1)

Noah stood there in shock, his eyebrows raised and his mouth opening trying to form words to reply to the Commander who was staring at them and giving off an aura of danger without the use of magic.

It felt like they were in a room with a dragon that was starving, ready to tear them into pieces and feast on their bones.

Fiona was the first to step forward and speak to the Commander, even if she was holding her hands tightly together to stop them shaking. "Sir, Captain Rachel is on the front lines and gave me a letter to give specifically to General Sil. I did not want to admit it to those two as I don't trust them after everything that is happening on the wall."

The Commander stayed silent before letting out a sigh. "The wall is an issue by itself but it is nothing like the Keep right now. The healers have been escorted to the capital in large Gondolas and flown by us commanders to safety during this internal fighting."

He walked from the door back to his desk and offered the seats in front of it to the two of them. Taking his offer and sitting down Noah could finally look around the room and see what a Commander's office looked like.

Behind the Commander's seat was a fireplace and over it, a family portrait with himself his wife and two small children. In the background, a dragon at nearly 3.5 metres [11.4 ft] judging it against the Commander's height; it was a dark purple and it's tail wrapped around the family.

There were two wide windows to their left that showed the capital in the distance. The office had a white marble effect that reminded Noah of the hospital ward he had awoken a quite some time prior. The walls had wooden panelling that made the room feel very rustic and natural.

Sitting on his seat uncomfortably with his back straight wanting to give off the best impression he could to the commander he was in front of. "You just mentioned that the healers had been escorted to the capital, do you by chance know if my mother was with them?" Asking the commander eager to find out how his mother was doing and more worried that she wasn't safe.

Commander Joseph let out a hum before opening a drawer at his side of the desk and pulling out paperwork from it. It was all alphabetically done so all he needed to know was Noah's mother's name so he could find it.

"Ahhh yes, here we go. She is part of Mistress Renn's promising students. She was moved up to floor 32 and helps with the Mistress' experiments there. Now, why don't you tell me what you are going back here."

"Sir Isan managed to convince Sir Quin to become my new Master out in the Sil Zone. I have spent the last however long with him but I recently... got lost. Now I am trying to find him again."

"... Quin... I haven't heard of that name in a while. He was in the Sil Zone? I see he hasn't been in the Dragons Keep in a long time at least in the last five years. I doubt he would be able to get back into the keep right now with everything that is going on."

The commander pondered about it before turning and looking at Fiona, "Now Missy, do you have Rachel's message? General Sil won't be free any time soon so I will take it to her personally." Reaching his hand out to take the message.

"Sorry Commander, my mission is to give it to the general directly... I also don't have it on me, it is on my Bonds saddlebag." She looked at the floor sheepishly.

The Commander just let out a big sigh, "I thought Rachel had great hopes for you but you can't even keep to the mission? Let's go get it and then we can go and give it off to the General." He stood up and brushed himself down and put away the paperwork from finding Noah's mother.

"Should I come to, Sir?" Noah asked while standing up at the same time as Fiona.

"No, there is no need. This isn't your mission. Why don't you go meet your mother and see how she is doing before going to the bottom of the Keep to the merchant floors which are 1 - 4. If anyone asks who gave you permission to go out give them this." Taking out an emblem that was embroidered into a leather sleeve. "Actually just put it on your arm and that will give you access to up to my office. That way if you have issues finding Quin you can come look for me."

Noah took it while they all left the office and pulled it on to his arm, "Sir what about going to see my mother on floor 32?"

"Oh. I forgot, just tell them Commander Joseph gave you a message to give the healer teams. If they have any questions come to me." Nodding at him and leaving with Fiona in tow.

She looked back at Noah with a frown on her face but all he did was shrug not too sure he could help her out anymore other than helping her to here. As they left him he took a mental note to tell his mother about her injury so someone could take a look at it and make sure it isn't dangerous.

Noah took the stairs at the other end of the lobby and continued up the floors, glad that his training had built up his stamina as just the number of floors were crazy.

Eventually, he made it up to the 32nd floor, instead of just being an arch and into a lobby had two big oak doors that had two large words printed on it, "HEALER QUARTERS" Not sure if he should knock or not he slowly pulled the door opened and looked into the room to see that it was a lobby with twenty rooms.

Unlike the other floors, he had seen this one was busy with people all dressed in a white uniform gown. They had gloves on and goggles were strapped to their head.

Noah took a step into the room and found that the healers all seemed to stop and stare at him as he took a few steps in with the door slamming closed behind him.

"Hi... I'm looking for my mother, Nereem?"

Lower in the tower back on the Captain's landing bay, Fiona and Commander Joseph were discussing the situation on the wall in hush tones, while she grabbed the letter from the bag as best as she could. Flinching in pain as she braced herself with her left arm against Uni's leg.

Just as she was away to reach into the bag and take out the letter they heard marching coming from the lobby with the stairs. 15 Dragon Troopers all geared up entered the room all in matching leather armour with magic runes embroidered into them.

A man with a blonde hair bun came forward and a scar over his left eye. "Commander Joseph and ... Trooper Fiona. If you wouldn't mind giving me all your weapons and following us. You are under arrest."
