Noah woke up from the deep sleep, his mother was squeezing his hand while he rested. He looked around the room and saw that he had been moved from the ward of beds to a private room.
"You daft idiot. You should rest up." Nereem squeezed his hand a little harder as he brushed the sleep out of his eyes with his free arm.
"Mum? What happened?" Noah rubbed his forehead before coughing. Black liquid covering his hands as he wheezed it up.
His mother let go of his hand and stood up walking over to a desk at the other side of the room picking up a clear liquid as well as some tissues.
When she came back to the bed she gave him the tissues so he could wipe up the black goo and then the water in the flask. "You overused magic and crashed during a fight. We had to make you drink some recuperation potion which looks like got stuck in the back of your throat a little. This should help clear it out."
He wiped away the goo and then sipped on the water afterwards, "I remember fighting with a blonde man but that's it, it kind of goes blank after that.." Cleaning up his chin with the tissue and settling back into the bed's cushions.
"Commander Jospeh said you would possibly forget what happened, you really overused magic which by the way when did you learn that?!" She smiled and let her hand squeeze his knee like she used to do back in their village when he would tell her about his day.
Noah started spilling what happened, his journey with Sir Isan to meet Sir Quin. Telling her how he had managed to use magic aura while sparring with Sir Quin so he started teaching him methods of using it. He even told her how he had met an old man that had managed to teach him even more complicated techniques and become close friends to someone new.
Time passed over them quickly while Noah spilt his story, he would occasionally stop and look at the door because he thought that someone had shouted his name but he couldn't tell where from. He decided to tell his mother about Aurelius after already admitting to having a new friend.
To say the least, she was shocked and didn't know what to say, someone other than a Noble having a dragon Bond was unheard of especially if he was from the middle of nowhere. He had to make her promise not to tell anyone else because it could endanger him if it got out.
Just as he finished his story the door opened up and two people walked in, the first was Commander Joseph whose face was bright red and right behind him was a weary Sir Isan. He had a cover over his right eye and he looked like he hadn't properly eaten in a few days which made his face look a little hollowed out.
They were both wearing the same uniform; brown cloaks that were wrapped so that they were behind their backs acting like a cape while they both wearing metal light armour, engraved over their hearts were their noble emblems representing them and two leather cuffs with it engraved in them too.
"Well hello there, Noah." His smile radiated the room even with his cheeks hollowed out, Noah noticed under his eyes were deep black bags. Sir Isan must not have slept in days.
"Noah, it's good to see you're in better shape. I want to be the first to give you the Dragon Troopers and Emperors thanks for stopping a maniac. Commander Fraser had committed multiple murders and if you hadn't stopped him there, who knows what he would have continued to do. Especially as he had already subdued both myself and Fiona." Sir Joseph took a few steps closer and sat on one of the seats beside Noah's bed, pulling out from one of the pockets of his cloak a small box.
"To reward for your bravery the Emperor personally heard of your deeds and has offered you a home in the Dragon Keep permanently if you wish to have it, it is on the same floors as the merchants but it is one of the bigger ones we had available." He gave the small wooden box to Noah, letting him open it up to reveal a silver key.
"The Emperor himself heard what I did? But I don't even know what I did." His hand reached his head and scratched it, letting off a small smile while his mother was the complete opposite; she stuck her chest out and smiled from ear to ear, her eyes shining brightly as she stared at him.
"That means we can be together! You can come up and visit and see me. This is brilliant!" Nereem squeezed his knee harder and gave him a big hug.
"I am glad you got to recognised for your service Noah, you must have worked hard over the year and a half." Sir Isan congratulated Noah as well. "Please Lady Nereem if you could leave us to talk in private we need to discuss what happened from Noah's perspective."
Nereem looked up from Noah to Sir Isan and stood up leaving them alone, making to completely shut the door for the privacy. Once it was closed Sir Isan put his hand on a symbol engraved on it and filled it with his magic aura which sealed the room off.
"Sorry Noah, we had to have your mother leave for this part. We need to have a discussion about what happened from your side so we can figure out what happened." Isan took the seat that Nereem was sitting on and got ready to hear Noah's side of the battle.
