Foxy

Prol walks over to the edge of the crater, using Inspect on the little artic fox.

Name: ???

Age: 1

Species: Sacred Snow Fox

Gender: Female

Status: Mildly Poisoned (Receding)

Little, uh, Sacred Snow Fox? He'd just call it a snow fox, that was a mouthful. He watches the little fox crawl back up, panting a couple times. It looked up at him, before turning its gaze back to the tree. Apparently, it didn't think he was important.

That crazed look enters its eyes again, and it starts forward. It'd be annoying if he had to wait for the dumb thing to crawl back up again, so he punted it away from the crater.

A startled cry rings out as the fox flies in an unexpected direction, before rolling across the ground for a few feet. Then it jumps up like nothing happened, glaring at Prol.

"Quit biting me, what's your problem?" Prol asks, a tinge of annoyance in his tone.

"Who the hell bit you?! You kicked me! What's YOUR problem?" the fox responds in a childish female voice.

Prol starts to retort, them pauses. "You know I'm the tree, right?" he asks, slightly confused.

The fox stares at him in dumbfounded silence for a moment.

"How can you be the tree? The tree is right there, and you're over there. Don't be stupid," the fox replies.

"No, you see, I'm a spirit who resides in the tree, so I can," Prol says, as if that explained anything.

The fox is silent for another moment. "Is that how it works? Okay, well, hold still and let me eat you," the fox replies, as the crazed glint enters her eyes again.

"Foxes don't eat trees. What's your problem?" Prol asks, keeping a careful eye on the little devil. Though, now that he thinks about it, it hardly matters. It's not like it was hurting him. His body seemed awfully sturdy, though it surpassed his understanding of what 'flexible' should be.

"What? I don't want to eat the tree, fool. I want the mana inside the tree," the fox says in a condescending tone.

"Yeah? Have you tried asking, or do you just get enjoyment out of being sent flying over and over again?"

"Wha- I do not! By attacking the same point over and over again, I can eventually break through!"

"The only thing you're breaking is yourself. Maybe if you tried asking, you'd get somewhere, meathead fox," Prol retorts, before turning back to his magic.

It wasn't important to pay attention to the fox. It was unlikely it was completely immune to the poison, so it would be unwilling to stray from the tree. From what he could tell, it absolutely wasn't damaging his tree body, either. Besides, even if it was so starved it was crazy, it was better than being alone.

Currently, the only plant lifeform he knew was his own body. He didn't particularly want to create more bodies just right this moment, so he'd have to stick with a random one. He had a general vision for what he wanted his surroundings to look like, so he jumped down into the crater to create random plants.

After all, it wouldn't do to clutter up his area with random plants. What if they were ugly, or smelled?

[Spawn Plant]

At his will, a tiny bit of his mana from his tree body is pulled to his spirit body, before striking the ground where he indicated. A small green sprout came up. Naturally, he couldn't tell anything about it from its sprout form, so he used Inspect.

Age: 0

Species: Mutated Blue Water Lily

Description:

A very beautiful variation of the Water Lily, said to only exist in sacred springs.

Prol looked at the lone green sprout in the middle of the desolate crater. Chips of stone and metal were everywhere, surrounded by sand, without even any fertile dirt save around his tree. Well, this certainly was no sacred spring.

Prol jumped out of the crater using his levitation ability, before grabbing a handful of the dirt from around his tree, and jumping back down to the lily. He places the dirt around it, before hearing a small 'Ding!'

{Research: Aura Control Completed}

[Growth Aura]

Enhances the growth of plant life around the main body

Allows surrounding life to take some of the strengths of the main body (Poison and Disease Resistance)

Air around the main body will naturally be kept pure, as desired

Effect can be withdrawn at will from select lifeforms

Ah, that was better. It explained why the little fox's poison was going away slowly, instead of immediately. Being around him gave a resistance, which would cause the conditions to get better over time. However, they wouldn't be immediately cured. Likewise, if they were subject to the poison again, they wouldn't be immediately killed either. Any intruders would likely be significantly weakened and not live long, though.

He started researching how to influence plants he created, before he stepped aside. He walked a bit more towards the middle of the crater, since he didn't know how big these plants would eventually be.

[Spawn Plant]

Another small sprout sprung up, though it was perhaps a bit darker compared to the previous one. Beyond that, he couldn't really tell them apart, so he used Inspect.

Age: 0

Species: Black Dragon Vampire Rose

Description:

An intoxicatingly beautiful flower that lures in prey with its charming appearance, before draining them dry with its powerful vines.

"I knew there would be some crazy plants," Prol mutters to himself. All he wanted was grass, was that so damned hard? The Black Dragon Rose was a real plant, he'd seen it before. However, this was obviously something very different.

Well, third time was the charm. He went to another area, before casting [Spawn Plant] again.

Once more, a little sprout springs up, and, hopefully, he casts Inspect.

Age: 0

Species: Spirit Grass

Description:

A very rare variation of grass, filled with mana, with strong healing and nutritional value.

"Finally!" he exclaims. Well, it wasn't exactly grass. But it was close enough, he was sure.

He floats back out of the crater, finding the fox staring at him. Based on the marks in the dirt, it had attacked the tree several more times while he was busy.

"Oh? Are you finally done, little fox?" he asks.

The fox is silent for a moment, before grumbling out, "I'm sorry for biting you."

"Mm. Apology accepted," Prol replies, feeling a bit better about his horrible assault- and ignoring the fact he'd kicked the poor thing entirely. What? It wasn't hurt.

"Can I have some Mana?" the little fox asks, in a hopeful voice.

"Sure, if you agree to be my guardian beast," Prol acquiesces.

"Wha- Bu- Yo- You really want me?" it asks, stunned.

Prol had a weird feeling this implied something in its culture that he did not intend to reply. Well, probably wasn't his problem. "Of course, you're an adorable girl. Just because you get a bit cranky when you're hungry doesn't mean I can't see how sweet you are," he shamelessly flirts. Well, he wasn't going to let the little thing wander off into the fog and die.

The fox avoids eye contact for a few moments, before finally jumping into his arms squealing out "Master!"

He caught the little ball of fluff, snuggling it up in his arms. Though, somehow, he felt like he might have signed up for more than he bargained for, he'd always had a weak spot for foxes.
