Extra 15: Dragon & Dragon Maids (16)

"Who is attacking us!" - exclaimed an older man with white hair and beard.

"We don't know, sir, it's just that something is approaching at high speed, and it's better to be safe than sorry!"- exclaimed one of the security officers.

"You disturbed us, for nothing!" - exclaimed the older man as he prepared to punish the person responsible, only to frown when he felt someone grab him by the shoulder.

"Don't be so violent, he's just doing his job" - Warrod said as he shook his head - "Besides, he's right, that something unknown is coming towards the magic council at full speed, is more than enough reason to prepare for the worst, more so when we don't know the origin or the target of that thing."

"Tch" - Michello could only click his tongue as he waited for a more informative report.

"We don't have a visual on the object?" - Belno asked as he looked at the attendant on duty.

"The target is moving too fast, and we don't have a clear view, we can only see a green silhouette with white approaching faster and faster" - replied the security attendant as he sighed regretfully - "At the speed it's moving, I'd say it needs about 15 minutes to reach us."

"That's not enough time to evacuate everyone" - muttered an older man with big eyebrows - "But we still need to tell the people to escape to a safe place, or at least as far away from this place as possible."

"That would only cause chaos and show us as weak" - said Crawford, a tall, old, round man - "We can't just run away, much less when we just took damage from being unable to do anything during the guild leaders' meeting"

"Our appearance to the world, is that much more important than the lives of dozens of innocents?" - Yajima asked as his eyes widened in terror - "No!"

"Our stability, is what keeps Fiore in perfect condition, if we don't appear imposing, the dark guilds will attack much more frequently" - answered Crawford with a frown - "That's why a few sacrifices are a reasonable price for maintaining this delicate stability."

"No, those are lives that have trusted us, we can't just toss them aside like trash!" - Yajima exclaimed angrily as he glared at his chairman - "Doing this, makes us no different from dark guilds, or gray guilds like [Phantom Lord]!"

"That's an order" - growled Crawford, who honestly didn't want to listen to his colleague's words anymore, only to look around and notice how all his colleagues had different expressions - "What do you think?"

"That your words are cold, but they make sense" - Siegrain replied as he closed his eyes - "I'm sure they will be happy to know that their sacrifice will save more lives."

Crawford smiled when he heard this and to see that at last there was someone who used his head, and not his granny heart.

"I think the same as you, we need to keep this delicate balance, at least until our projects have been completed" - said Org while frowning because despite everything, he was not very happy with this situation.

"I support this decision" - Michello said as he looked around with disdain.

"I abstain from voting" - Belno said while frowning because despite making sense, she was not very happy with her president's orders.

"I refuse to accept this proposal" - exclaimed Yajima as he looked around - "This is immoral and does not go according to the conviction imposed by our predecessors, neither as high leaders of the highest magical authority in the country."

"I refuse, as does my companion" - said Warrod as he frowned - "This goes against everything morally acceptable for our charges."

"I abstain from voting" - said a man who was wearing a white hoodie and small sunglasses.

"I object" - said an older man of medium height - "This seat refuses to have such deaths on its conscience"

"I knew I could count on you, Yuri-dono" - Yajima said with a smile, to then look at the last council member.

"I guess the decision is up to you, Ultear-dono" - Crawford said while raising an eyebrow - "What do you think we should do?"

Crawford was showing an expression of victory because Ultear was one of the people who understood his point of view the most, but to his surprise, he didn't get the answer he was looking for.

"I'm sorry, but this time I agree with Yajima-dono" - Ultear answered, surprising not only Yajima, but also all the council members because they didn't expect her to be so human in this situation.

Siegrain frowned when he heard this because it didn't sound like something his companion would say, more so when he knew how carefree and sadistic she could be when things didn't go as she wished.

Yajima smiled as he regained his composure, only to order an immediate evacuation.

The security men quickly followed his orders and prepared to open all escape routes, while the council members looked at each other, not knowing what to do.

"Tch, well, they already won, we'd better leave too" - Crawford said with a frown as he shot an annoyed glance at Ultear before retreating.

Belno sighed with relief before retreating as the others did similar things, leaving Siegrain and Ultear alone.

"Why did you refuse? I thought it would be a good opportunity for our plan" - Siegrain said with annoyance - "With this, we had everything we needed to go to Etherion's room and get all the information we needed for phase two."

"I know, but with this, our enemies will trust me much more" - replied Ultear calmly, without changing her expression as she stroked her "pet".

"You have a point, but this is counterproductive in our current situation" - Siegrain said with irritation - "I hope you know what you're doing."

"I know, now stop annoying me" - Ultear snorted as she retreated.

Siegrain gave her an annoyed look before looking down at the little fox in his companion's arms, only to frown even more as he felt he was ignoring something important, something that could ruin all his plans.

"We'll talk later" - Siegrain said as he shook his head and started to think about how to make Erza escape from her prison because she was the key to the third phase of his plan.

* * * * *

"Master?" - Ultear asked as she looked around and noticed that there was no one in the place.

"Relax, you are not in danger, the people who come, are friends of mine" - answered Kurama as he opened his eyes after waking up from all the screams of the elders - "They come to see my state, possibly they detected that I am weak."

"They are not hostile?" - Ultear asked as she sighed with relief upon hearing that they were Kurama's acquaintances, but her expression changed when she saw how the little fox shook his head at her question - "Are they hostile?!"

"Against you, no, but I don't know what they'll do when they see that I'm so weak in this place" - Kurama replied as he started to think - "That's why I recommend you to go outside and wait for them".

"They won't do anything to me?" - Ultear asked with concern because she didn't want to die so soon, more so when she now knew that there was a way she could be reunited with her mother in the present.

"No, they can detect my presence on you thanks to the contract" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "Although I recommend you to be prepared, Tohru can become a bit possessive"

"Tohru?" - Ultear asked as she tried to find some answers, but the more Kurama talked, the more doubts she had.

"Yes, I'm sure you know her as the dragon that almost destroyed the city by attacking Lullaby" - replied Kurama as Ultear's eyes snapped open.

"That thing is coming this way!" - Ultear exclaimed in terror because even at her maximum power, she couldn't stop this out-of-control dragon, more so when it was obvious that she was worried about the little creature she held in her hands.

"Relax, she's not as bad as you think" - replied Kurama with a smile - "Not to mention that she won't hurt you if I'm around".

"That's what worries me, if you said she is possessive, then she will be furious to know the reason why you are so weak" - said Ultear with fear.

"Calm down, we have a contract and that's more than enough reason for her not to do anything, not to mention that I'm not going to let her hurt you either" - Kurama answered seriously - "Now calm down, everything will be alright"

"Ok, I'm going to trust you" - Ultear said as the two walked out of the building and reached what seemed to be a park.

The duo stood waiting for a few seconds, until a strong gust of wind gusted through the place.

Ultear slowly opened her eyes, and saw how a beautiful girl with light brown, almost orange hair was watching her with hostility.

"H-Hello" - said Ultear as she felt a deep fear at the sight of the woman's reptilian eyes.

"Hello" - replied Tohru as she looked at the woman, then at the small white creature in her arms with concern.
