Extra 15: Dragon & Dragon Maids (54)

"And that's it" - Irene said as she sighed with regret because now that she had a better control of her emotions, she felt a little guilty about her actions, just a little.

"What a shitty life" - replied Tohru with a frown - "I can understand that you're a little scared about the change, but god, it's pretty obvious that your husband didn't love you."

"I know" - Irene muttered with a frown - "To him, I was a simple step to take control of my kingdom, and it seems to have worked out well for him."

"Don't you remember what happened?" - Kurama asked with a frown.

"I remember that I was locked in a dungeon for months while I was pregnant, but when they tried to kill my baby, everything went white" - Irene replied while shaking her head - "The last thing I remember is a scream, and then I woke up in the middle of the forest."

"How is it possible for Erza to be so young, when you were pregnant all those years ago?" - Tohru asked with a frown.

"It's because I used all my energy to protect her and I used magic to make sure my gestation didn't leave her with unnecessary mutations" - Irene answered honestly - "I didn't want my baby to go through what I did, to be treated like a monster by the rest of humanity"

"Although that seemed to be another reason for your erratic state of mind" - Kurama replied as the red haired woman nodded - "I understand, I guess the first step, is to talk to your daughter and explain your situation, I'm sure she'll be happy to know that despite everything, you love her."

"I tried to kill her!" - Irene exclaimed with fury, grief and shame because she still remembered the moment when she saw her for the first time.

"No, you fought with the idea of hurting her, and your maternal instinct was the winner, that shows how much you love her" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "If you really didn't care, then you would have left her in the middle of the forest, but you specifically looked for a village and left her in a place that was safe enough for her not to suffer because you knew that you could lose your sanity at any moment"

Irene was silent because she didn't think about this, from her point of view, she abandoned her daughter and almost killed her, but from the white haired man's words, her actions were the right ones - "I'm confused, shouldn't you hate me for leaving my baby behind?"

"Under normal circumstances, I would, but that wasn't the case, was it?" - Kurama asked with a half smile.

Irene again was speechless, so she just nodded.

"Now that we got that point clear, I think it's time for us to move on to phase two, let's go" - Kurama quickly took the woman's hand because he noticed that she was confused with everything that was going on.

Irene frowned at this, but relaxed a bit when she noticed that the white-haired man wasn't showing any kind of lewd sign, so she decided to let this transgression pass, at least for now.

The members of [Fairy Tail], looked with surprise at the strange red-haired woman who had appeared next to Kurama, and then looked at Erza, who had a very similar expression.

"Y-You" - Erza murmured with tears in her eyes while biting her lip because it was impossible not to understand the situation - "You what are you doing here?!"

Irene felt her heart break when she saw her daughter's attitude before sighing, it wasn't as if she could blame her - ". . ."

"I think before things get out of hand, it's a good time for you two to talk" - Kurama said as Erza gave him a serious look - "But first, we'd better get a few things straight, this is your mother, Erza, her name is Irene Belserion, and I just helped her with a certain problem that has been plaguing her for years"

Irene was silently grateful, that at least the white-haired man had the tact to set aside the exact number of years she had been roaming the world.

Erza was silent for a few seconds before biting her lip because she didn't know what to say, or how to react. She had always wanted to know her parents and why they abandoned her, and now she had the chance to know the truth, but now that she was grown, and was with a family that loved her as one of their own, she felt strange.

"I know you have a lot of questions, but this is not the place to talk" - Irene replied as she frowned because she could notice the gaze of the people around, especially the [Dragon Slayer], possibly they had detected her origin, but for now she decided to ignore them.

"Ok, I'll follow you because I need to know more about you, and about me" - Erza muttered as the two redheads left in silence.

A few hours later, Erza returned with a conflicted expression on her face.

"Are you okay?" - Natsu asked as he looked at the girl he had known for years.

"Yeah, I just need a little time to think things over a bit" - Erza replied as she walked to an empty spot in the guild and sat quietly.

"I wonder what they talked about" - Gray muttered as he shook his head.

"Whatever it was, I don't think it's any of our business" - Gajeel replied as he closed his eyes - "By the way, Salamander, did you feel the same as I did?"

"Yes, that woman felt the same as us, but at the same time she feels different" - replied Natsu with a frown - "It is possible that she is a [Dragon Slayer]"

"Honestly, I think she's in the last phase of our magic, draconification" - said Gajeel with a frown - "That's why she must feel different."

Natsu frowned when he heard this because this would explain a few things.

Irene returned a few seconds later, an unreadable expression on her face.

"I thought you were going back to your home" - Kurama said as he raised an eyebrow at the woman.

"I don't need to return, not when there is no reason to do so anymore" - replied Irene while shaking her head - "I was only working for them because he had promised to help me with my problem, now that I don't have this problem, I have no reason to return."

"I understand, so what are you going to do?" - Kurama asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"I have no idea, maybe travel around the world after Tohru-san helps me with my new life" - replied Irene while shaking her head.

"Well, it's something" - nodded Kurama as he went back to his thing.

"Don't you want to know about Zeref's plans?" - Irene asked in surprise, as she wasn't expecting this.

"Not at all" - replied Kurama as he shrugged - "As long as he doesn't mess with me, I won't do anything to stop whatever it is he wants to do."

Irene was silent before nodding.

"Ok, I think that's enough, my shift is over, so I can help you with your problems" - Tohru said as she took Irene by the hand, and dragged her out of the place, after all, she didn't want another dragoness around Kurama for too long, enough she had with Lucoa and Iruru, more so when Elma also stopped by visiting to ask how they were doing.

"I think Tohru is being too territorial, and that's bad because the more she is, the more enemies she gains" - Lucoa said as she walked to her husband and sat on his lap - "Don't you think so too?"

"Reverse psychology" - nodded Kurama as he shook his head, but his expression changed when he felt a soft sensation in the back of his head - "Iruru?"

"Hello" - smiled Iruru, who seemed to have grown a few inches - "Do you like my new look?"

"It's the same, you just look like an adult, now go back to normal" - said Kurama as he gave her a blank look.

"My real appearance? I didn't know you liked underage girls" - replied Iruru with a teasing smile.

"It's not that, and honestly, the only thing underage about you, is your height" - replied Kurama as he rolled his eyes at her - "And as for why I say go back to normal, it's because I don't wish for the people around me, to be something that they are not."

"I see" - Iruru muttered before returning to her normal stature - "Honestly, I prefer this size, I'm used to my current anatomy."

Kurama didn't reply, he just watched as Iruru sat down next to him and asked Mirajane for an extra spicy meal.

"Putting that aside, what do you think of the words Laxus-san said to you?" - Lucoa asked while opening her "'good" eye.

"Honestly, I'm thinking of rejecting it" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "If I participate, everything will become monotonous."
