Extra 19: Change the World (69)

Another month had passed since Ryu, Mito and Kazumi had gone to help with the training of Izumi's friends, time the siblings had used to join the group.

Mito was the most "laid back" of the three, mostly because she had Miroku eating out of her hand, to the point that the poor monk couldn't do anything perverted without Mito intervening with her sadistic attitude she got from her mother.

Kohaku quickly got over his slight crush on Mito, mostly because he knew he couldn't control a spitfire like the red haired girl, not to mention that he wasn't masochistic enough to enjoy this kind of interaction with his partner, on the other hand, he had gained an interest in Kazumi, much to the relief of Izumi who was watching them closely, after all, she wanted to win Kohaku like a true younger brother.

After three weeks of hard training, Sango made up her mind to confess her growing feelings for the green-haired boy. Ryu was surprised to hear it, although he wouldn't deny it, he had felt the slight changes Sango had had over the past few weeks, but he didn't think it was because of a romantic feeling.

Izumi quickly stepped in to get her brother to give her best friend an answer, only for Ryu to growl at her and tell her to mind her own business. The green haired boy wasn't liking that his sister was pressuring him to give an answer that could make them both regret it in the future.

Sango also shot an annoyed look at Izumi, who did nothing but slowly back away to hide her embarrassment. She really wanted Sango and Ryu to enter into a relationship, after all, they were among the most important people in her current life.

Kagome continued to train normally and was getting better and better control of her spiritual energy.

Yura, on the other hand, was receiving direct training from Kurama, who had reappeared after announcing his wife's punishment. He quickly explained to her what she had to do to complete her training in order to give her a physical body.

The hair demon was excited and was putting her all into completing her training, after all, she understood what this meant. She would not only get a physical body like everyone else's, but she would also be recognized by her master's family.

That left us with the general situation of the Uzumaki family, who had welcomed Irasue with open arms, which confused the Inu Daiyokai a bit, though she quickly accepted it with a smile. She was no longer the same person from so many years ago, after all, she had seen what a human could do, not to mention that this family wasn't exactly normal.

"You again?" - Kurama asked as he held the bridge of his nose - "I hope at least this time you brought what you needed to do the ritual because honestly it's a pain in the ass that you ask so often."

Ayame bit her lip before nodding and handing him a strange blood covered skin.

Kurama raised an eyebrow as he looked at the girl and asks her if she was sure this was Koga's skin.

Ayame nodded weakly before letting out a heavy sigh, after all, she had been for the past few months sending members of the wolf clan to try and get something from Koga, however she was earning the hostility of her family thanks to this.

The old sage had heard about this, so he had quickly gone to Kurama to ask why, though his expression changed to a cold one when he heard the whole context of the situation. He didn't hesitate, he rushed towards his granddaughter to ask her what the fuck she was thinking sacrificing herself for a meaningless obsession, one that was ruining her life.

Ayame broke down when she heard this, after all, her grandfather was the only person she thought supported her, but now she saw that this was not true. Her grandfather was furious at the decision she had made and the words she had said to him, it was obvious that he was waiting for her to desist, but there was no turning back now, she had decided that she would revive Koga if it was the last thing she did.

The old sage went running back to Kurama to stop his granddaughter's actions, only to receive the news that the contract had already begun, and breaking it midway would damage the souls of the two involved, to levels that even he with all his powers could not repair.

"I guess I'll have to initiate, you're going to have to give me a few minutes" - Kurama said as he disappeared from the room, though to the girl's relief, he returned with a strange coffin.

"What's that for, and why is it moving so much?" - Ayame asked with concern.

"My ability needs an equivalent exchange, a life for a life" - Kurama replied neutrally - "Anyway, let's get this over with..."

Kurama put Koga's sample along with some of his blood on a strange scroll before putting it inside the coffin, this he did mostly to prevent the girl from seeing inside, although because of the very erratic movements happening inside the aforementioned, Ayame could hear the cries of despair that lasted for a few more seconds before falling into a deep silence.

Ayame didn't know what to say, so she just waited in silence as she prayed for good news.

Kurama closed his eyes before he felt his connection to the inside of the coffin amplify, showing that the Jutsu had ended in success, so he quickly opened it.

Ayame's breathing began to intensify when she saw this, though her expression changed to one of terror as she saw the appearance of the boy she loved since childhood - "What is this!"

"Relax, this is only one phase of the process, but there's something I want to know before we go any further" - Kurama said as he watched Koga look around, confused because he remembered that his last memories were falling towards the void after he failed to avenge his tribe.

"Where am I?" - Koga asked in surprise as he noticed the strange man he had met before his suicide attack on the birds of paradise - "Did you revive me?"

"Sort of" - Kurama replied as he shook his head - "Though it was at her request."

Koga looked in Ayame's direction, though he quickly frowned - "Why did you revive me?"

"I..." - Ayame went static as she saw the wolf boy look at her with hostility - "I-I.... Why are you upset?"

"Because it wasn't necessary" - Koga replied with a frown - "I made the decision to avenge my people even though I knew I might have an early death, I put my soul on the battlefield, but now I find myself here, with this strange body and being the servant of a person I don't even know."

Ayame was surprised when she heard this, while Kurama shrugged his shoulders.

"Why are you torturing me with this fate I don't want, while my people are waiting for me in the afterlife?" - Koga asked with hostility.

"I-I just wanted to see you again, so I could be by your side..." - Ayame said as she began to cry.

"Listen, I don't want to be with you, I don't want to be with such a selfish person who can't see beyond her own fucking desires" - said Koga neutrally - "Maybe for you, it's a good cause, and it's even possible that you wished I was so grateful for reviving me that I decided to marry you, but that's not the case, reviving after having a worthy end is a spit on all my efforts, more when the reason for my revenge is already gone!"

"How did you know?" - Ayame asked in surprise as she resisted the urge to continue crying.

"Because in the afterlife we can still see what happens in this world" - replied Koga neutrally - "I mean, I have revived by the simple wish of a girl who such seems that she can't take no for an answer."

Ayame broke down when she heard this as she felt tears welling up uncontrollably.

"Well, now that we made that clear, it remains for me to tell you one last thing" - Koga said coldly as he walked to the girl and took her by the face to look directly into her strange eyes - "I didn't love you, neither do I think I could love you in the future, much less seeing how stupid you are to revive me without thinking about the consequences, or if I really wanted to return to this world, even, seeing how you acted, I now regret having made that stupid promise to you."

Ayame burst into tears as she felt her heart break into a thousand pieces.

"Master, I would like you to release me from this torment..." - Koga said as he gritted his teeth because he didn't like the idea of not being in control of his decisions, even, that was one of the reasons for his clear hostility towards Ayame. He hadn't decided to go back, he had been forced to, and now he was nothing more than a fucking servant.
