Extra 20: C.A.O.S. (32)

The champions at the moment were in their rooms, time in which Sonia was using to investigate the new city, and hopefully come across some new Pokémon or some regional mutation.

"Let's see, the dimensional merger has caused some changes in some ecosystems in the other regions, although the Pokémon have not suffered mutations" - Sonia murmured while watching the Pokémon jumping between the trees or playing on the rooftops of the houses. A small smile appeared on her lips when she saw this, though her expression changed when she saw something special in the sky - " What's that?"

Without a second thought, she followed the Pokémon she swore she saw, until she reached a lush forest. She looked around and noticed the tail of the creature she had followed, so she quickly ran after it.

The researcher continued walking through the forest until she came to an open clearing, where she saw with surprise a strange white Ursaring along with her cubs of the same color, they were similar to their normal versions, only these had strange golden markings around their pale fur.

"Is this one of the mutations that they said?" - Sonia muttered in surprise as she tried to slowly approach, after all, she knew how wild and dangerous a mother Ursaring were when her cubs were in the way.

The mother Ursaring looked in Sonia's direction, but did nothing because she could sense that she had no hostile feelings for them, so she continued to play with her babies.

Sonia let out a sigh, though at the same time she was surprised to see how this Ursaring was far more different than just a physical mutation - "Is it like a new regional variant perhaps?"

She started writing in her notebook while carefully analyzing the mother bear's actions, only to be surprised to see how the little Teddiursas went through a tree as if it was an illusion.

"!"- Sonia froze when she saw this because this meant only one thing, these new variants were ghost type, which shouldn't be much of a surprise if one took into account that the mother bear had fed her cubs with the fruits of the [Hueco Mundo] tree.

"Ursaring from [Region Name Pending], Ghost type and unknown..." - Sonia murmured excitedly as she continued writing - "Reason for their adaptation, unknown, possibly due to a new food diet that was stimulated by the dimensional merger... I need more research to come to a conclusion..."

Sonia continued to watch, until she noticed the tail of the creature she had been following out of the corner of her eye, so she quickly moved away from the Ursaring's location as carefully as possible, after all, she didn't want to upset the creature.

Ursaring looked at her curiously before turning her attention back to her babies who seemed to be hungry, so she quickly went to the cave to take out the box Kurama had given them. Yes, this was the family that Kurama had found when he discovered the Hollow tree, and now that they had discovered that these were not harmful, he decided that he would plant them near the indigo plateau and move the Pokémon that had mutated from eating its fruits, after all, he didn't know what kind of effects they would have on other local wildlife.

* * * * *

Sonia opened her eyes, surprised that she had gone so far into the forest that she had managed to find an area full of unfamiliar flowers, she had even found familiar Pokémon with different appearances, which made her think that this was a nature reserve of regionally form Pokémon from this... well, region.

"Mew ~"

Sonia looked around and looked in the direction where she had heard the meow of the Mew she had been following, until she saw it enter a cave, so she quickly followed, not noticing how a pair of eyes seemed to be watching her curiously.

The young researcher went inside the cave, which seemed to be illuminated by hundreds of glowing stones.

Sonia gazed in wonder at the beautiful scenery, until she reached the center of the place, a small stone chamber that seemed to be inhabited by someone.

[What are you doing here, human?] - asked a voice behind her.

Sonia jumped before she slowly looked back and saw a creature that made her freeze - "A Mewtwo!"

Mewtwo frowned before waving his hands and making the human woman move towards the center of his home.

Sonia trembled slightly because she knew how dangerous this artificial Pokémon could be, although she quickly noticed a small detail. On the Genetic Pokémon's wrists, there was a bracelet with a [Megastone], which meant that this Pokémon wasn't wild, and this made her think of a certain rumor about how Kurama had a Mewtwo on his team, though he didn't use it much because that wouldn't be sportsmanlike behavior.

"Are you Kurama-san's Mewtwo?" - Sonia asked cautiously.

[Do you know my master?] - asked Mewtwo as he raised an eyebrow.

"Not directly, but I've had conversations with him because I'm also a Pokémon researcher" - replied Sonia while letting out a sigh.

Mewtwo nodded before watching as Mew appeared and laughed as she saw that her prank had been effective.

[Seriously, you're too much of a prankster] - Mewtwo sighed as he realized what had happened - [I'm sorry you fell for this idiot's prank].

"Mew!" - Mew started to sulk as she heard how Mewtwo was calling out to her.

[You know this forest has dangerous places, but for a prank you made an innocent person come in contact with a Pokémon that could seriously harm her] - Mewtwo replied with a frown - [What do you think my master would do if he found out what you did?]

Mew froze in midair before breaking into sweat, so she quickly teleported in front of Sonia and started apologizing.

Sonia found it cute, though Mewtwo's words made her react - "Is this place dangerous?"

"Yes, there is a species of Pokémon that are deadly hostile to humans" - Mewtwo replied while shaking his head - "In fact, I think I better escort you out of the forest because one of its cubs got curious about you and marked you..."

"Huh?" - Sonia froze when she heard this, only to feel her body freeze.

[Oh, I see the mother appeared next to her cub] - Mewtwo said as he stepped in front of the researcher.

Sonia looked in the direction of the entrance, only to see the cutest thing she had ever seen. This was a beautiful gray-colored Vulpix with a strange marking on its forehead and cute red-tipped tails.

"That's a regional Vulpix..." - Sonia muttered in surprise as she wrote in her notebook, but her expression changed to one of terror when she saw the creature that appeared behind the cute Vulpix. This was a majestic black fox with nine tails, its chest covered by a red tuft and tails with tips of the same color. The fox Pokémon was looking at the human researcher with its cold golden eyes, which were the same color as the mark that looked like two dots on the creature's forehead.

[She's about to leave, she didn't come to destroy our home, Ninetales] - Mewtwo said with a frown.

Ninetales ignored Mewtwo and continued to stare hostilely at the human, until she was surprised to feel someone behind her.

"I see you're enjoying yourself, Mewtwo" - Kurama said as he appeared from the shadows.

"Kurama-san!" - Sonia exclaimed in excitement because she knew she was now safe.

Kurama nodded in her direction before approaching the Kyubi Pokémon and stroking her head.

The Ninetales that was hostile was now showing a very different attitude, she seemed to be enjoying the silver-haired man's caresses, while the little Vulpix was trying to climb up her clothes, so it could position itself on the top of his head.

"Kurama-san..." - Sonia said curiously.

"Oh, they are the regional versions of Vulpix and Ninetales" - replied Kurama while letting out a sigh - "They are the first specimens."

"Why is that Ninetales so hostile?" - Sonia asked with a frown - "It's on the level of the records of Hisui's Zorua or Zoroark."

"It's because she had a similar fate..." - Kurama answered with a darkened look - "This Ninetales came to this dimension being a corpse that revived thanks to a certain power, I'm not sure who the one responsible for hurting her, but what I can assure you is that it was a human..."

Sonia let out a scream of terror when she heard this as tears ran down her cheeks.

"She's ghost-sinister type" - Kurama continued as he let out a sigh - "If you want more data, we'll talk later, for now you'd better get back to civilization."

Sonia nodded weakly before feeling how her body was surrounded by a strange silver aura. She quickly closed her eyes because the glow was too great. When she opened them again, she noticed that she was outside the hotel she was staying at, so she quickly decided to go to the Pokémon center because she had something important to talk to her grandmother about.
