Eva Was Wrong

Hazel knew Will would never do anything to hurt her but she couldn't properly explain that to Eva. Someone who grew up with a cushy family life—overbearing mother or not—could never understand the bonds forged through desperation.

Trying to explain it more thoroughly would cause them to argue all over again. She sighed. It would have been so much better if she simply stayed on in Florida when the airport was closed.

She wouldn't feel so conflicted about Will's past and her relationship with Eva wouldn't be strained either. Ignorance truly is bliss.

Cursing herself for probably sounding stupid, Hazel sent a second message. 'Just so you know, I'm mad at you for doubting my husband but that doesn't mean I don't want to be friends anymore'

That sounded so childish! What was she, twelve? But she really didn't have a better way to word it. It was the simplest way to express her feelings.
