Cerin has always been their favorite if they will not love me, then they can hate me. Either way, they'll have to acknowledge me. I strike the barrier once then twice and yet nothing happens that is until that voice that's whispered in my ear for so long says, "use your blood". I do as it says running the blade over my palm, then striking the barrier once more. A dark force blows me back as the barrier shatters.
There is laughter followed by a surge of magic as females with eyes like embers step forward. One has a chain of silver wrapped around her throat and manacles made of shadow reinforced by dark flame. The magic that binds her is ancient and foreign yet somehow familiar.
"Their own, flesh and blood has betrayed them," the female says her voice hoarse as if she'd been screaming and only now was able to stop. "Tell me little fox, what do you wish for the most?"
"To be remembered for eternity."
The female lets out a gurgling laugh, smiling at me with shark-like teeth. "So, it will be." She lifts her hands; I use my blood to undo the enchantment while binding the witch to me. They will hate me for this deceit, but I no longer care.
