Who Am I?

Akaisha was sitting in the car, looking out the window as cars flew by and pedestrians hover walked across the road. When her mind was at ease, she was able to control the freaky problems she had. It was during those times she wondered what her life would have been like if her parents hadn't disappeared. Her memories from when she was a child seemed locked away. Not because she couldn't remember because something is blocking it from her mind.

Dave came out of the hospital, interrupting her thoughts. She watched him methodically walk towards her. He didn't seem quite right to her but she ignored it. Dave got in on the passenger side and looked at her. His eyes were glazed over for a brief moment before the clarity returned to them. Whatever Dave was dealing with was gone. He shook his head before actually trying to speak to her. "Weird, I don't even remember getting back into the car. Should we go get something to eat? I know a great restaurant we can go to."

The thought of going out with him was annoying, but before she could give him an answer her stomach growled at the prospect of food. "Yeah, sure." Akaisha was going to try and leave halfway through the meal. That was her plan at least. He directed her to the restaurant. There were holographic pillars in front of the building. A celestial greeted them at the door. The vibe of the restaurant was different than what she was used to. It felt more like a dating restaurant. She looked at Dave. He conveniently didn't notice her eyes on him.

"You didn't say it was this type of restaurant Dave."

"I didn't? Sorry about that, I figured you would want to share a meal with me regardless of where we went."

Akaisha scoffed. Dave was being too presumptuous. She was trying not to allow her anger to get the best of her, with the resurfacing of Professor Jay it was only a matter of time before she would be in a battle for her life. "Don't do that again. Honestly, I'm not interested in you like that."

His face looked hurt when she said that but he brushed it off. "I understand, but I figured if I'm hungry then so are you. We're just dinning together. I'm not asking you to marry me."

"Sure, whatever."

They were shown to their table were the dinner continued to get increasingly awkward. It got to the point that Akaisha was ready to leave. Just as she stood up the doors burst open. A group of people with face coverings came running inside. The owner of the restaurant went up to the person that was standing in front. He proceeded to ask him a question only to be shoved to the far wall with only just slight push. The patrons started to become restless and hide as much as they could. Dave tried to speak to her in a low voice but was interrupted by another. "Everyone just hold out your chipped hand so we can transfer all the money from your account into another one. No one try to be a hero. This will only take a few minutes then you can go back to your overpriced dinner."

Akaisha rolled her eyes at the typical display. She was annoyed that they would try to rob anyone at a high-end restaurant. She was the only one that hadn't held out her hand. That action didn't go unnoticed by the leader. He walked over to and stood in front of her. "Little lady, it would be in your best interest to hold out your hand."

She was trying to be polite when she spoke but instead, she had an attitude with them. "Or what?"

The man looked at her with laughter in his eyes before slamming his fist down on the table. He leered over her as he spoke. "You and everyone in here won't be seeing the next day."

She tilted her head to the side. The thought that he would harm her and innocent people because she couldn't give him any of her money. "You won't hurt anyone. Even if I could give you my money I wouldn't."

Dave chimed in to speak. "Akaisha just do it."

The man pointed toward Dave in agreement. "You hear your boyfriend speaking to you. He has the right idea."

That ridiculous statement made by him riled her anger. The anger kept building, causing her to start to catch flame. The pink hue startled Dave. "Listen asshole. I've just come from the hospital after dealing with a shitty boss, I've been forced to go on a date with this dumb fuck, and now you want me to hold out my hand so that you can take my money. Well jokes on you. I don't have a microchip. My skin is impenetrable so there was no use."

The man only laughed at her as he had another person step forward to try and subdue her. He focused his hands near her and a blast of wind surrounded her. That only made Akaisha angrier, causing the flame to burn brighter. She stood up reaching for the man in front of her. The instant touch of her fire started to sear his flesh. Agonizing screams were heard around them. She took that moment to forcibly throw him against the other man knocking them both out.

The other people in their crime ring stood there in a daze at what happened. They weren't aware that there were others that had powers. It took them a few minutes to wrap their heads around it. The first to come to ran up to her with a metal fist intending to hit her. Akaisha dodged to the side before she kneed him in the stomach. Quickly, he fell to the floor. Another person came up to her while in an attempt to stop her. Each person that came after her was quickly subdued. She then felt a hard hit against her shoulder. A woman was standing there holding a metal pipe. Akaisha eyes turned the color of silver when electricity shot from her fingertips. The woman dropped the pipe and began to cower.

The patrons all looked on with awe in their eyes. Someone had managed to dial emergency services. They were relaying the entire ordeal to the response team. Akaisha took that time to leave the restaurant and flee the scene. Her first stop was to go home and pick up Blue and a change of clothes. Disabling her GPS tracker, she started to leave town. The events of what transpired replayed in her mind. She spoke softly as she kept driving. "What have I done?"
