*Ring*
The school bell rouses me from my nap.
I guess school's over for today.
Carefully placing my pillow under the desk, I make sure to padlock it so that no one steals it.
Yes, placing three coded locks is the least I can do.
Of course its necessary, the more valuable something is to a person, the more likely said person loses it.
Hence, the precautions.
As soon as I was done doing the final checks, I nod in approval and start making my way out of the classroom, quickly reaching the stairs at the end of the corridor. As for my bag, it can stay there.
It's troublesome to carry it along after all.
Besides, there's nothing important inside.
Aside from those vague dreams I get from my past life, I myself have great memory so I don't need to bring books or take down notes.
Just one look at the blackboard from time to time in between naps, or a quick glance at a classmate's notebook is enough for me to pass.
Which is evident from the only thing inside my bag.
Yes, there were only a pile of test papers.
Nothing else, just those.
They all have perfect scores, but that's nothing unusual. I think I might have to throw them out soon. It was starting to get more cramped in there so I'll have to find a place to dump it again.
Those papers have my name on it so I have to make sure no one finds it and tries to return it.
Throwing them away in school would be pointless due to this particular reason. Now, where...
As I was pondering this problem, I notice a presence in front of me. My current location was just outside the school lockers, and just before reaching the school's entrance gate. At my pace, it will only be a few seconds till I reach the outside, but.
*Woosh*
A swift moving silhouette dashes towards me.
"Ah, Kurokami-kun it's such a coincidence to-"
*Crash*
Of course, I dodged it without mercy.
There was no possible way I would take an obvious attempt at bumping into me lightly.
I thought to myself, as my eyes grew cold.
Watching the pitiful girl who's plans were foiled, crash into the ground. The dust covers her as tears threaten to form on her frustrated face.
That might be part of her act though so I'm not putting my guard down. Even if it wasn't I still wouldn't care one bit.
"So, why are you here, woman?"
My eyes only grow colder the more she keeps it up.
So I ask her a question, wanting this farce to end.
As if realising her plan didn't work out, she stood up.
It was like she never fell, her energy was astounding.
"How mean!"
Eh.
"Kurokami-kun, I'm your senior you know? What's with you calling me 'woman' like I am one of those trashy women who cheats on their husbands in those television dramas!? Besides, you shouldn't be so-"
*Pat*
"Hueh?"
As I reach my hand out to touch her head, she instantly stops talking and spaces out, falling red in the face. I think I can see steam coming out from her ears if I look more closely.
But, my grip is not that gentle.
*Grab*
"Eh!? Wait-"
*Press*
Using the tiniest amount of strength I can control, I slowly squeeze the annoying woman's head.
"It hurts! It hurts! Kurokami-kun, stop, stop! I give up! You win! Please stop, you're gonna squish it!"
"Relax. This is only the beginning."
I reply without the slightest change in expression.
"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!"
As if hearing the threat laced within my words, the annoying woman in front of me screams in a shrill voice as she quickly grew paler every passing moment. Her eyes quickly dart around the area.
Go on.
Ask for help.
Even though it's pointless.
It's so late already, that I assume every other student without any sports club practice had already gone home. Even teachers from this school get off early.
Despair fills her expression as she found her futile attempt at dragging someone else in, end in failure.
Now, it's about time. The thing I've been trying to get out of this woman is almost exterminated.
Not long now..!
A shadow flashes past my vision as I quickly dodge to the right. Soon after, a loud bang was heard.
Glancing at the place I've been standing at earlier, a chill spreads throughout my body, quickly calming my agitated heart and mind down.
Embedded in the ground was a sword.
It wasn't a katana, but a true-forged long sword.
The amount of aura on that sword was overwhelmingly strong. The light of flames burned as the embers travelled through the cracks created on the concrete pavement.
But that's not the thing I was focusing on.
"Insolent!"
There, she stood.
In front of the annoying woman fallen limp on the ground, a red-haired girl with amber eyes held the longsword up and pointed it in my direction.
"Sigh, come at me then."
I knew from the first moment I saw her, that she was of that type. The type who won't listen to reason until you beat them down.
I've seen plenty of warriors like her over the years.
That's why words are pointless.
"Then accept your demise, scum!"
Shouting as if it was a battlecry, she loudly proclaimed righteously, and lunged at me.
What I didn't expect is that as soon as I focused my attention on her, she disappeared into tiny flames.
This.
Is going to be troublesome.
