A puppet…

Anberine seeing this immediately took the opportunity to leave before she could do anything dangerous and it was then once she arrived at the girl's toilets that she had noticed her hair.

Instead of being starlight white it had altered and changed into a fiery red surprising the girl deeply.

Sadly the anger caused from seeing it now taking effect her appearance and magic while also continuing to surge throughout her body.

Resulting in her mood becoming more sour than ever. Huffing angrily as she stared at herself in the mirror to see that the light was catching her hair, this in turn made it look like her hair had actually became a living flame confusing and worrying Anberine until she placed her fingers to her hair.

Feeling soft cool tresses instead of burning locks of hair that could have burned her skin upon touching Anberine immediately relaxed feeling completely relieved from knowing that it was only just the appearance.

It was then she had frozen the moment she noticed her eyes had changed green to the startled teen's surprise as she released her pent up frustration while gripping on the surface of the sink in front of her.

Grateful that it didn't crack under pressure and instead remained intact no matter how much strength she used.

"And I told you that I wanted to speak to you" Prince Skye said with a smile as he followed her once he spotted her in the hallways which was a floor level closer to the courtyard, at first he was surprised by the sudden change of appearance before quickly recovering from the shock and resumed chasing after her.

Hearing and knowing that he wasn't giving up had made Anberine's blood once again boiling at how he continued to bother her. Surely he would notice something was wrong and yet he acted like he was ignorant about it, surely he could break spells and potion effects.

He must have had the training to avoid poisons at least. So why had his behaviour to her increased so much to the point he was acting the complete opposite of how he usually was? He hated her and he made it clear enough without even telling her why he hated her.

Was it because of the spell? If she was being honest with herself about the whole situation, it could have been the case or as she read more into the book.

The teen had found out from the book that if someone heaven forbid was obsessed then it would increase it to the point they would hurt someone thinking that it would please the potion maker.

'It could be the case but I hope not... oh wait- not! I don't even know why he hated me to begin with' the corners of her mouth pinched themselves together from resentment.

'What am I saying? Of course I know why... it's because I'm a lowly peasant, a nobody that he sees as an easy target!' Anberine scowled darkly before she felt him grab her arm and it had took all of her self restraint to make sure that she didn't injure him one bit, that was unless she wanted to be punished by the higher ups.

"Rat girl-" Skye called out weakly not seeing her eyes flare in anger from the insulting name he had given her, one that had stuck throughout the years thanks to him.

"Stop following me!" Anberine yelled as she turned around to face him.

"And I have a name! So stop calling me such a degrading name! Where you came up with these ideas to spite and treat me like this-? You're a prince and yet you treat your people like trash! We have feelings so learn to put people before yourself for once you insensitive jerk!" Anberine screamed before slapped him so hard that her right hand tingled painfully, however the pain meant nothing to her as she glared hatefully at him.

As she glared at him, Skye's hand that held her hand released it's hold. Slowly he placed a hand to his injured cheek.

His eyes now wide as he was left stunned that she would even slap him to begin with and his mouth at that moment parted slowly, allowing shuddered breaths to leave silently.

"Do not give me that look!" Anberine snapped not caring that some people in the courtyard were now watching, nor did she care that this would end badly for her.

She had had enough of him and his treatment towards her and there was so much she could take. Even if this meant being bullied a lot more so be it.

'I need to get that antidote or at least something to get his affections to pass on to someone else, I can't take this anymore! It's bad enough he made my life a living hell when he hated me, now he's making my life more of a living hell by attracting more attention to me!' Anberine gritted her teeth as she glared at him hatefully, something that shocked him deeply.

"I have a name you know and for years you've treated me like I am nothing but a spec of dirt. I get it! I am a commoner- an orphan! But no one should suffer under an idiotic ruler who thinks it's okay to treat someone in that manner!" Anberine lashed out before turning her back on him.

"If anything, I pity anyone who has to be ruled by you or will be ruled by you in the future" she muttered low enough for him to hear, a low gasp left his lips from hearing her words but he did not move an inch as she walked away from him.

"Now leave me alone" Anberine snapped coldly, refusing to look back as she walked towards their potion's class. Stupefied Skye snapped out of his daze once she was at a distance from him.

"W-Wait..." the prince's voice was soft and low as a murmur before strength formed from within, it had gave him more courage than he would have expected and soon his feet started moving one step at a time.

"WAIT!" Prince Skye suddenly called out as he ran after her, finally making it inside the building.

Spotting Anberine he pushed her against the wall under the stairs and kissed the startled teen. The first thing Anberine wanted to do was scream and push him off but he didn't give her any space to do so.

She wanted to cringe and cry from how she could allow this to happen, why hadn't she just enforced her friends to make the potion?

She hated him enough as it was, he was her tormentor and yet he acted the complete opposite. Just seeing this strange side of him knowing that he hated her truthfully and that she had ended up forcing him to change into something he was not.

It had left her conflicted and dare she admit it guilty.

"I'm sorry" she heard a timid voice that startled Anberine out of her thoughts, finally realising that Skye had broke the kiss she stared at him with the same conflicted eyes.

"I don't want you to hate me" he murmured weakly as he stared at her with sad eyes.

"Prince Skye..." Anberine looked down weakly as shame for what she had done continued to eat at her subconsciousness as she felt his fingers gently stroking her cheek, she hated this. It was all wrong, it was fake- unreal, a false fantasy. He hated her and now thanks to her, he was her puppet.

One she- if she had chosen to- control.

"A puppet... just like how he treated me, he made me this way- a puppet... an instrument of his hate" Anberine as she stood there wanted nothing more than to cry out in frustration but refrained from doing so.

"I will get the antidote... how I could have let it get this far...? This is ridiculous... what would my auntie think?" Anberine berated herself in self loathing.

"Hey... look at me" Prince Skye's voice was soft and warm as he lifted her chin up so she could look at him, eyes that left her wanting to shy away knowing that they were made like that because of her influence.

"This isn't you sire, I... this isn't right" Anberine began struggling out of his hold causing his eyes to go wide. "Please let go" she said wearily wanting to be free from his hold more than ever.

"Wha-? What are you talking about? I love you Anberine" Skye said firmly as he held her arms.
