Your word

"Hmm" Mordred to Skye's relief walked away to sit beside a curious Merlia.

"I'm going to send these to my sister straight away" Helga said catching their attention, Merlia seeing this smiled softly as she patted Helga's arm that was close to her.

"Don't worry, she'll get better soon. This is Anberine we're talking about" Merlia soothed even as Helga's smile continued to grow to the point it hurt.

However knowing that her mother could get better and there was a chance left Helga more overwhelmed than ever.

"Y-Yeah" Helga nodded a few times before sitting beside Anberine who smiled back, Skye as he watched was left speechless at how bright Anberine's smile was.

"Was it always like that?" Skye pondered as he watched them talk.

"Considering how you always make her upset and angry, savour this moment... while you can of course" the voice warned to Skye's annoyance but didn't retort, instead he remained silent.

"So where's Morgana, Percival and Gawain?" Anberine asked while they checked the time to see it was half an hour before lunch ended.

"A few nobles started to cause a few rumours again so Percival and Gawain are trying to stop Morgana from taking it too far-oh!" Merlia paused as she stared at Skye who was watching them blankly.

"Don't worry about me, I'm not going to do anything" Skye waved his left hand in surrender leaving the group suspicious.

"So, did you tell them about the library?" this sparked Merlia, Mordred and Helga's interest.

"Library?" Mordred asked as he looked at Anberine.

"Sk-Prince Skye said that there might be hidden documents the king has left in there, however given what could be used to hide them it might be strong magic" Anberine explained.

Merlia blinked in surprise, Skye meanwhile eyed her for the stumble.

"But it would have to be advanced otherwise anyone could just find them. Believe me, we looked already but saw nothing" Merlia explained.

"I was actually going to check the restricted section at one point" Anberine commented earning looks.

"Why would you ever go there?" Skye asked as he placed a hand on his chin while resting on the table.

"Because I know the librarian, he knows I go to the library a lot to learn things. I've only been in that section about twice and he's trusted me enough not to make a mess there unlike some people" Anberine said while folded her arms, Skye rolled his eyes.

"Mr. Daynes' always nice, always treats us like his grandchildren but I'm never allowed to practice potions in there" Helga said meekly.

"Because you almost damaged a few books" Anberine said while the side of Mordred's mouth went up in amusement, Skye as he heard this froze.

"You are very lucky he lets you in despite that" Merlia said while giggling at Helga's bashful expression.

"I know" Helga sighed at their comments.

"So when should we go?" Mordred asked catching their attention.

"Around night should be good" Skye replied earning him a frown from Merlia.

"But by that time the library will be closed, we can't just sneak in we'll get caught" Merlia warned as Mordred placed a hand to his chin.

"What if we ask him if we can stay behind to study?" Helga asked.

"The restricted section will be locked even if we ask, it's a massive no" Anberine said while shaking her head.

"Unless you somehow manage to sneak us in" Mordred said causing them to look at him.

"Who is going to sneak-oh no! Not this! Mordred!" Anberine snapped as he nodded with his eyes closed.

"Somehow I had a feeling you would ask that" Merlia said while scolding Mordred with her look.

"No Mordred, she's already doing enough for us. Don't put her in a spot that will ruin the librarians' trust. Plus if the king finds out she will be in more trouble" Merlia warned.

"Not if we distract him from finding out" Skye said as he frowned.

"You would?" Mordred asked with a look of disbelief.

"He has a meeting tomorrow, if all goes well the meeting would be around dinner time. While he's distracted we can sneak in" Skye suggested.

"Why not just be honest with Mr. Daynes?" Anberine commented as she received strange looks.

"What? It wouldn't hurt to ask about whether or not there are some secrets in the library"

"Because Bery, it will put him in a difficult situation. Choosing between us and the king. Worst scenario it would be reported since there are eyes and ears in the castle. That and it will cost him more than his job" Mordred said with a frown, Skye as he heard this flinched.

"Don't do anything stupid, those Shadow Guards are always on the lookout on Father's orders" Skye said almost shivering from the thought.

"Shadow Guards?" Merlia asked with a perplexed look.

"They serve the king but they will do anything, they're not above making people... vanish. If the person does something that threatens the king in any way" Skye's other hand clenched his trousers tightly from the thought of seeing them.

"Just being near one can leave one traumatised" shivers ran down their spine from the thought.

"Let's just regroup and see what happens then, but why are you getting involved sire if you don't mind me asking" Merlia asked Skye feeling more confused if not suspicious from his interest of staying.

Skye hearing this sighed heavily.

"I don't approve of how people are disappearing and he does nothing, the situation inside Camelot is even out of my hands thanks to him and I... I want to know what happened with the assassination years ago. He's hiding a lot of things and I want to know what his covering up" Skye replied with a firm look.

Seeing this the Dark Dwellers were stunned from seeing his resolve.

"I hope you don't betray us" Mordred said coldly as he got up.

"There's more at stake whether you realise it or not" he hinted, caring not if Skye knew what he meant or not.

"I wouldn't worry about that" Skye replied while folding his arms.

"The last thing I want is for more problems to come about"

"We'll hold you to your word" Mordred said while lifting a hand up, observing it carefully Skye shook it with his free hand.
