An ordinary room

"And he still smites me with his words" Merlin chuckled, earning himself a humorous chuckle from Arthur.

Skye as he saw this almost snorted but covered his mouth and coughed in order to mask the incoming laugh.

At the same time his eyes caught Merlin's index finger making what appeared to be a symbol on the table.

Confused he stood up and leaned over the table to get a closer look, a chill ran down his spine before he could understand what the symbol meant.

"Why… what does the symbol mean?" Skye narrowed his eyes until a book slammed on top of the symbol startling Skye out of his musing, a startled yelp left his lips as he looked up to see a displeased Anberine and a confused Merlia.

"Finally awake?" Anberine asked dryly as Skye glared at her.

"If you must know yes" Skye shook his head at her before moving the book she slammed down away from where he had been staring.

The symbol was no longer visible.

Frowning Skye took out his bag to take out his quill and ink, once done he quickly drew the symbol once more. Startled Merlia gave him a cold look.

"Why are you drawing a dragon?" Anberine asked looking at him with a baffled look.

"Because Merlin had a connection to dragons" Merlia said coldly feeling bitter about what Skye was drawing.

Skye as he took in the appearance of the symbol froze.

"(Found out where you saw it yet?)" the voice asked with a neutral tone as Skye rushed off towards the third bookshelf that was near the other end of the room.

Curious Merlia and Anberine followed quietly as they watched him trying to look around between the bookshelves.

"I swear I saw it!" Skye muttered as he examined the books only to find nothing.

After what appeared to be half an hour Skye slumped against the bookshelf knowing that it was sturdy.

His back leaned against the shelf while he rested his arms on his legs that leaned against his chest.

"It was here, somewhere I saw it" Skye said as he looked at the girls wearily.

Pursing her lips Anberine began to look at the books carefully to see they were only about funguses and their poisons.

Merlia meanwhile stared at Skye with mixed emotions but found herself unable to move.

"I doubt he would make it that easy" Merlia said after remaining quiet for a bit. Skye eyed her weakly.

"He was smart, I doubt he would make it easier for anyone to see" Skye said before sighing heavily.

"No use moping about it" Skye shook his head as Merlia gave him a waned smile.

"He wouldn't be the wizard he was if he made it too easy" Merlia agreed softly.

"I don't think he was a traitor, not after what I saw" Skye said startling Merlia.

"He was a trusted friend of Arthur- the King I mean. I know there has to be a reason for why he allowed this to happen. Surely there has to be" his words left Merlia conflicted as she helped him up with his left hand.

Skye meanwhile moved his right hand to the wall in order to brace himself as he got up.

A scream left his lips he and Merlia were sent through the wall startling Anberine enough to see just a plain wall.

"Uuuh?" Anberine was left speechless as she tried to press the wall only to feel it was solid.

"Guys? What happened?" Anberine called out a little loudly in order to get through to her friends.

"We're okay" Merlia called out before a hand went through the wall, startled Anberine held her heart in shock before shaking her head.

"If this was a joke no one would be laughing" Anberine said dryly as she grabbed the hand and allowed herself to enter the wall.

What she saw however left her stunned.

"It's just an ordinary room" Anberine said dryly as she glared at Skye who glared back at her.

The room as she examined it had sets of what appeared to be scrolls and books on a dusty table that sat in the middle of the room.

Four stools were neatly perched around the table but kept underneath to prevent anyone from tripping over them.

Two bookshelves could be seen on both ends of the room almost shrouded in darkness thanks to their locations.

Above the table was a dusty wooden chandelier containing candles, that were half clean while also caked in dust.

Streams of moonlight touched various parts of the room including the top of the bookshelves and the chandelier, leaving the room with a mysterious atmosphere.

Almost deterring them from wanting to get closer until curiosity and wonder overtook their worry.

'It must have been abandoned for years' Anberine guessed with a saddened expression as she looked around.

It didn't look much but it had a comforting feel to it, almost nostalgic as she could imagine so many memories were located in such a small place.

"You really need your eyes tested" Skye muttered as he pointed to the glowing symbols on the walls. Looking up she raised a brow.

"I don't see anything" Anberine replied darkly to his and Merlia's confusion.

"I can see them" Merlia commented leaving Anberine raising a brow while folding her arms.

"They look like symbols I've seen in the Dark Realm though which is odd"

"But then how can he see it and I can't? We're both Light Dwellers, aren't we?" Anberine and Merlia gave him a curious look to which were both given a shrug in response.

"Don't look at me, I don't know how I can see them" Skye replied sharply "must be a royal thing or something" the girls looked at the other with pursed lips but said nothing.

"Whatever" Anberine muttered darkly while moving towards the books. This pile however had less dust as opposed to the others which left her suspicious on how abandoned this place truly was.

"Merlia I think someone has been here" she gestured to the books. Merlia approached the table and took one of the books. Curious she opened it to see only a page left in the book.

'This is the last entry I will make…' Merlia froze as she read the book.
