Yu Chu sighed aloud as she bowed her head.

The thought of quitting her delivery job was obliterated completely. She pressed her lips as she studied her red arms while walking down the steps.

The man strolled in with the pizzas and placed them on the table. He then picked up his laptop once more.

As he glanced at the screen, he placed his fingers on the keyboard. He suddenly recalled the girl's eyes.

He had met many people like her who had frozen when their eyes met with his. Yet, he had never remembered any of them. He lowered his eyes and typed on his keyboard, looking unperturbed. The expression on his beautiful face was unruffled and nonchalant too.

Tang Mo came in the afternoon.

Yu Chu had just opened the door when he reached out to her with an outstretched hand. "Give me 500 yuan."

Yu Chu raised her eyebrows and studied the boy before her.

Tang Mo, who had just turned 18, was quite good-looking. He possessed a delicate and shy boyish charm. Yet, his expression was harsh and forbidding as he stared at his sister impatiently.

The girl cast away her usual coldness. She smiled and said warmly, "Ah Mo, you're here. Look at how much you're sweating. Come in and take a rest."

Tang Mo was dumbfounded. At this time, the proprietor hadn't gone to seek Lin Xinxin and thus, she hadn't aired her grievances yet. Tang Mo was merely being rebellious right now. His loathing towards his sister hadn't grown yet.

Usually, the proprietor's attitude wasn't too good towards a wayward and rebellious brother. So she merely reacted to him as how he had treated her.

However, the girl softened her attitude and the boy stopped looking so fierce. He frowned and murmured impatiently, "I don't need to rest. I don't want to go in at all. Cut the nonsense and give me the money."

The girl maintained a warm smile on her face. "Come in first. I'll look for money."

Tang Mo's fierce expression ceased as he hesitated. He then reluctantly raised his feet to enter.

The proprietor didn't bear to use the air-conditioning. But Yu Chu did so when Tang Mo walked in, he was welcomed by cold air. Instantly, his expression relaxed.

Yu Chu poured him a cup of water and watched as he finished it. He then continued to scowl and pressed on, "Hurry up."

Wretched kid…

Yu Chu rolled her eyes silently in her heart. However, she didn't beat around the bush and strode to her bedroom. She came out with 500 yuan.

Tang Mo was surveying the surroundings casually when his gaze landed on the laptop screen. He furrowed his eyebrows. "You're playing the game as well?"

Yu Chu had wanted him to see it. She nodded and answered, "I heard that you were playing so I downloaded it as well."

Tang Mo sneered coldly. "Why? To keep an eye on me? Tang Chu, I'm just courting a girl and I'm of legal age. As her roommate, it's fine if you don't put in a good word for me. Do you have to guard yourself against me as though I'm a thief?"

Yu Chu quipped, "System, give me acting skills."

The system replied, "Get ready to receive it."

Hence, after Tang Mo burst out with a condescending expression, the girl before him entered a daze. Then, she revealed an expression that was between laughing and crying. "What are you thinking about? Why should I keep an eye on you?"

Seeing how dumbfounded Tang Mo was, she pressed on, "Ah Mo, I really think that Xinxin is a nice girl. How did you know that I didn't put in a good word for you?"
