Chapter 5

As the planet is is timing with life that has a striking resemblance to the Paleozoic Era on earth and the fact that it's mostly covered in water Vlad decided to name the planet Paleozoic Oceania.

Now Vlad is currently on the surface of Paleozoic Oceania checking all the equipment as he prepares for a deep dive to personally see these remarkable creatures.

Vlad looks at the army various drones armed with specialized capturing tools floating around.

On the beaches there are various large water tanks specifically constructed to match the environment on the seas of Paleozoic Oceania. This is where Vlad plans to temporarily hold this future new pets before they could be transported to a much bigger tank aboard the Leviathan his Titan-class ship.

With such exquisite looking fish laying around its only natural to capture a "few" of them back.

By few Vlad really means is enough to fill a few Olympic size swimming pool. After this ship is the size of a city with tons and tons of storage space a few Olympic size swimming pools are practically barely noticeable.

Of these are not just going to be fancy background decorations in his dining room but it also has significant research value and can be quite delicious.

As the autopsy reports that the creatures on this planet are mostly edible with a few exceptions.

Autopsy report? Yes, Vlad sent the droids to capture a few specimens ALIVE! Which part of alive entails having a large chucks of their body blown off!? Or placing different species (one pray one predator) in the same tank!?

Incompetent robots can't do anything right! This is why you need to oversee robots.

Anyways with everything seemingly checks out he dive into the water in an exosuit, followed by an army of drones behind armed and ready.

Once into the water Vlad then turned on his life signs detector and scanner as to quickly locate and identify all life signs in the surrounding vicinity.

Once on he then looked at the surroundings and ordered the drones to begin capturing.

Suffice to say wherever Vlad went any and all living creatures saw a drastic reduction in population.

Even corals and sponges are not sparred as even they got up rooted and encased in glass tank before being shipped back to the ship.

Naturally with Vlad personally there he avoided most of the robotic incompetence.

Vlad is currently directing the drones to capture a group of Pikaias.

Pikaia was a primitive chordate that lacked a well-defined head and averaged about 1 1⁄2 inches (3.8 cm) in length. It's also knows as the ancestor of all vertebrates.

Due to their small size one must be extra careful when capturing them.

As he was doing that however Vlad couldn't but keep getting distracted

'Ooooo is that a Marrella? Quick catch it before it gets away' as he quickly dispatched a drone to capture the strange arthropod.

Marrella is a small animal, 2 cm or less in length. The head shield has two pairs of long rearward spikes. On the underside of the head are two pairs of antennae, one long and sweeping, the second shorter and stouter. Marrella has a body composed of 24–26 body segments, each with a pair of branched appendages. The lower branch of each appendage is a leg for walking, while the upper branch is a long, feathery gill. There is a tiny, button-like telson at the end of the thorax.

Vlad is currently like a kid at a candy store

Beep Beep.... Beep Beep...

An alarm however knocked him out his dream like state as the alarm signifies that a large life sign is in the vicinity.

Vlad quickly turns his head in the direction of the life sign and zoomed with his helmet cams to see.

A large creature about 10 meters long and 3 meters wide with hard bony plates covering its head and powerful plated jaws that could easily rip a man to shreds.

It's a Dunkleosteus to be more specific its Dunkleosteus Terrelli part of the Placoderms (prehistoric armoured fish group).

'Ooooo that's a big boi' (go watch for reference THICC BOI by Anthony Fantano only without the chicken sounds at the end)

Instead of fear however Vlad as an experienced player of Final Frontier is not a bit scared! Instead he felt exited as such a fearsome creature would definitely look great swimming at the background of his dinner table.

Vlad licked his lips as he decided to personally hunt this creature as he draws out a micro-torpedo launcher attached on his back.

The mini-torpedo launcher is specialised weapon for under sea combat, it a weapon that that launches smart homing micro-torpedos.

Naturally as he wants to capture the target alive so it's loaded with specialised ammunition. It's a special 4 inch long torpedos that would borrow into the target and would constantly release volts of electricity that would disrupts the targets motor functions, The electric charge could naturally be remotely adjusted as we wouldn't want to fray the target.

Without further ado Vlad launches a torpedo at the giant armoured fish.

The micro-torpedo zips out of the launch tube and quickly traversed vast distance to the target leaving a trail of white foam behind.

It landed on near the tail of the creature (Vlad doesn't want to damage to nice looking bony plates) and began shocking the creature.

The might prehistoric fish fought it at first but as Vlad gradually turns up the volume the giant fish gradually succumbed to the shocks and slows dawn eventually stopping completely with the occasional spasms.

Seeing the creature immobilised Vlad ordered the drones haul it into a fish tank.

'Well... that was easy... so... I think I would like 10 more of those' Vlad thought as he noted it dawn on his "things to capture" list.
