Chapter 5: The Decision

I was blinking at Zander as he was leaning against his chair when I was laughing at his statement. He might just bluff about that. But he was not laughing and Zander was arching his eyebrow at me.

"Oh, you're serious?" I asked him as I was looking at him. Zander nodded before I was taking a deep breath. There was a lot of going on in my mind right now that I don't think that I would be answering him right away.

"Okay, that was…unexpected. So, if you can give some time to think about it, I will give you tonight," I said as Zander was arching his eyebrow even more.

"Tonight?"

"Yes, during dinner? Or do you don't want to have dinner with me? I understand if you're busy and all—"

"Dinner would be lovely," Zander said as I was babbling about before I stopped and stared at him. Did he just agree to have dinner with me?

"I'm sorry?" I asked as I was trying to confirm what he said just now. I don't think I heard them correctly. Zander chuckled before he stood up and he went to lean against the desk as he crossed his arms at me.

His stance challenged me after all.

"I said I will have dinner with you tonight and it will be lovely as I never had dined in my own house," he said as he smiled at me. I smiled back before I can stop asking the next question that was coming out of my mouth.

My stupid mouth!

"Why not? Where are your other family member then?" I asked before Zander sighed. Okay, maybe I should just shut my mouth up. I was upsetting this man right now.

"They haven't been around much since they have their own company to think about," Zander said before he was offering me his hand as he helped me to stand up from the chair. I thanked him before he was putting my hand on the crook of his elbow.

"Don't worry, I think they will come home sooner or later. Family bonds are weird that way," I said before Zander laughed.

"I hope you're right, Lena. I hope you're right," he said as I was smiling at him. We were walking out of the study room and I don't know where we are going right now.

"Um, where we're going?" I asked Zander as he was leading me to the staircase as we ascended to the second floor. I don't even know that this castle has the second floor. I was looking at the long hallway before I saw the huge, high ceiling parlor before Zander turned right and there was a series of doors in the long hallway.

"So, this will be your bedroom for your stay. I have your luggage moved in here and the maid has put the stuff inside the wardrobe already. You can explore the castle if you want, but I figure that you might want to rest from your journey," Zander said as he opened the door and I was looking at the bedroom that was the size of my apartment.

I saw there was a walk-in closet and there was another section for the sofas and everything else. I don't think that I would be treated like a princess but I was.

"Wow, this is…too much, Zander. I can't possibly—"

"Please, all the rooms in this castle are like this. I don't think if you want a casual room, it will be difficult to pull it up," Zander said as he was smiling at me. I smiled at him before I was releasing the crook of his elbow. I missed it already.

"Well, it seems that I will leave you to it. My butler will come for you for dinner time then,'' Zander said as he was smiling weakly at me. I nodded at him before he closed the door and I was looking around the bedroom that was a suite.

Okay, I think this is the moment that I will be going through all the stuff.

I was walking into the wardrobe which was a walk-in closet as I was looking at the sparse clothes that I brought for my 3 days 2 nights stay. I was going into the next section of the sofas and television was hanging on the wall.

I was looking at the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea. This was gorgeous before I saw a balcony that was closed by French doors. I unlocked it before I was standing in the balcony and the wind was blowing at me.

I was sighing with content when I was leaning my head toward the sun and it was nice to feel the sun. I don't get enough exposure in Paris since the sky was always cloudy. I smiled before my mind was nudging about the decision that I have to make.

I was considering the pros and cons of going on a date with a man like Zander. I don't think that he would have any problem picking up any woman that he wanted. So the real question remained, why me?

I was nothing compared to the portraits of his ancestors. They were all blonde with pale eyes and they were very attractive. I did not know how to make out of his preference but I think I got a gist of it.

I sighed before I was looking down on the beach that was staring at me. I think if I have enough time for my vacation, I would love to go for a swim down below. I smiled as I was looking at myself in the window as my reflection was staring right at me.

I was not blonde. My hair was brown.

My eyes were not clear, they were dark green.

I was not sexy considering that my flat chest that I barely filled out A cup.

So, why Zander wanted to go on a date with me?

I shrugged before I went inside as I was taking out my phone. I searched for his name, Zander Zeus. There was no tabloid about him that I can use to know his preference. Maybe he was a private man that he did not like to be gossiped about.

But one thing caught my attention. His family name was Caprioli, that originated from Capri Island, Italy.

It was interesting when I saw there was a list of other 5 names that were listed below Zander. They went like this; Zander 'Zeus' Caprioli, Harriet 'Hermes' Caprioli, Percival 'Hephaestus' Caprioli, Ryes 'Ares' Caprioli, Niles 'Dionysus' Caprioli, and Loxias 'Apollo' Caprioli.

I think I have all the names of his siblings and I think it was nice to know that he was not alone in this world like me. And with that in mind, I think it would not harm to get to know Zander even better. Mr. Zeus was only a nickname that he was known to be a ruthless billionaire in the business world. Even Forbes debuted him as the most eligible bachelor of the world along with his brother.

Maybe going on a date with him might not be so bad after all.
