Chapter 7: The Hangover

I was tossing and turning as I felt my head was being punched with a lot of nails right now. I was grunting as I tried to block the sunlight that was coming inside my room right now. I groaned before I was opening my eyes and I was staring at the face of Zander that was amused with me.

I screamed before I was covering my head with the duvet as I was breathing hard. Since when I have a man in my room? I don't think I would be living with a man right now.

Oh wait, I was not in my room and this man is the host.

I was pulling the duvet down a bit before I was looking at amused Zander with his electric blue eyes glistening with mischief. Okay, maybe I did embarrass myself just now.

"Morning. Sleep well?" Zander asked me as I was rubbing my temples. The headache was there but it was manageable I think.

"I think it would be fine. What time was it?"

"8 AM," Zander said as I turned to look at him. Oh God! I overslept and that's why Zander was here. He was about to leave when I was not even ready yet.

He looked delicious in his casual white shirt with black pants and there was a coat on his arm. I was looking at a model right now, instead of like a businessman. I think I gulped at the sight as well.

"So, are we going or not?" Zander asked me as I was blinking at him.

"Right, I need to take a shower real quick and I meet you in 15 minutes," I said as I was looking at him and the door, hoping that he got the idea.

"10 minutes and don't be late or I will leave you here," he said as he was getting out of the room. I was rolling my eyes when I was getting out of bed, still wearing my negligee from last night.

Wait, I don't wear that when I left the room. Don't tell me…

I was cursing myself for not be able to handle the liquor as I was taking the towel and I was looking at the water and Advil on the side table. I smiled as I was looking at the cursive writing on the sticky note.

Take it when you got up ~Z

I was smiling like an idiot when I went for a quick shower and I was putting on my blouse with a pencil skirt. They both black and I think I have to French braid my hair so that I looked neat and professional when I got to the company with Zander.

I took the Advil as well so that my headache was not getting in the way of my work today. I took my handbag and I was out of the door before I was looking at the long hallway before Zander came out from one of the rooms.

"You scared me," I said as I was holding my hand on my chest. It was beating hard before Zander was pulling his sleeves as he was putting on the coat that he held before. Now, even without a tie to complete the look, Zander looked like a businessman. A tycoon.

"Shall we?" He asked me as he was putting his hand on my lower before he was ushering me to the staircase after we were turning around in the hallway.

"I thought you might be waiting for me in the lobby?" I asked Zander before he smirked at me. I think I wanted to slap it off but it looked so good on him.

"Well, I know that you will have the difficulty of getting out of here on your own so I waited up for you in the library," he said as I was arching my eyebrow at him.

"Wait, you have a library that was near my room and you don't even tell me?" I asked him before he smirked at me.

"Not that I don't want to but we have an early start and considering that you were drunk last night, I don't think you would stay up late to read the books," he said as we were walking out of the front door before the driver was opening the passenger seat for me.

"Besides, I think you would love to explore the island than be in that room right now," he said as I was looking at the convertible that he pulled out. I don't think that Zander would be driving me around as I slid in and the driver was closing the door before he nodded at Zander.

"I thought you won't be driving?" I asked as Zander slid into his seat and put on his sunglasses. Now, he looked even delicious right now when the wind was blowing his tousled black hair. He smirked at me.

"But I want to show you around. Now let go explore," Zander said before I was putting on my seatbelt and he was giving me sunglasses that I put on immediately after we sped off from the courtyard.

I was looking around the island as people were wandering around when there was Farmer's market that was happening near the fountain that was at the center of the town square. I was smiling when Zander slowed down and he parked on the side. I turned to look at him as he slid out of his car.

"I thought we want to go to your company for the gem selection?" I said as I was getting out of the car as I took Zander's hand to help me stood up. He closed the door before he locked the car.

"We did not have any breakfast yet. I think you will love to have breakfast with scenery for once," he said as I was arching my eyebrow at him.

I was smiling around when I was looking at the children that were playing around. I was holding Zander's hand and I was not aware that he was pulling me around to show me the Farmer's market.

I was tasting so much stuff that when we sat down on the coffee shop that Zander loved and ordered for our breakfast. I was looking around before I saw there was a couple that just proposed.

The town people were clapping and congratulated them as I was smiling happily for them. I was remembering the moment when my friend, Lyana, got married to the love of her life. I sighed as I was looking at the couple before the waitress came to give our coffee and breakfast. Zander was still wearing his sunglasses as I slid mine on top of my head.

The waitress was smiling seductively at Zander before I felt a pang inside my chest. What was this feeling that I wanted to rip her eyes off from staring at Zander right now? I shook my head as I was looking at the lasagna that Zander asked for two people.

"Try it. It was the best in town," Zander said before I mumbled under my breath.

"And the best spot to sightseeing woman apparently," I mumbled before I heard Zander chuckled. I don't think he would hear that but who knows? He might have a super hearing after all.

I was taking a bite of the lasagna and it was the best that I ever tasted. I cannot think that it would be this nice but I loved it.

I missed Italian food when I have been eating French cuisine since I first moved to France. I was gripping the table to control my moan and when I opened my eyes, I was looking right back at electric orbs that I have been wondering if he ever looked at anyone like he did to me right now.
