Chapter 7 Treat Myself Day

Amelia decided to take her doctor's advice and have a "treat myself" day. Her kids would be with Nick on the weekends starting on Friday, so she could dedicate all Saturday to herself. She received lots of gift cards and money from family and friends from birthdays and Christmas that she didn't use. The last year was a mess and she didn't feel like she doing anything for herself. She wanted her kids to know that she was there for them and focused on them and getting a job.

Amelia planned the majority of her day and things worked out well. She had a massage in the morning, pedicure and manicure with acrylic nails, haircut and highlights added, shopping for new work clothes, and a long lunch by herself. She was most anxious about eating by herself. She had never done that before and was excited to try it. She wanted to enjoy her time by herself and wanted to day drink without judgement.
