The unwelcomed third wheel

The next day, Dex and Ella arrived at the beautiful city of Singapore, bright and early at 10 am.

Traveling in their private jet, they had even better treatment than first-class passengers and were entirely well-rested and energetic.

They had already finished their luxurious continental breakfast on the flight and left immediately for the Ritz Carlton hotel to check-in and freshen up.

The hotel, of course, provided them VIP service and had prearranged an experienced cab driver for their needs.

Ella's main plan in Singapore was to teach underprivileged children for a month.

In their off time, she had also filled their schedule with various nature hikes, boat rides, scuba diving, and ocean exploration.

Coupled with the fact that the weather was pleasant, and both of them looked forward to spending a fantastic month in the Lion city.

Dropping off their luggage, Dex and Ella left their room, giggling and teasing each other playfully.

It was the weekend, and they just wanted to roam randomly in the city and explore new places.

But, as soon as they stepped out of their room, a sunny chirpy voice greeted them, "Surprise surprise!"

Dex immediately frowned, but he sighed and slowly changed that frown upside down.

"Morning Ben. Surprise indeed. What are you doing here ?"

Ben ruffled his hair, and shamelessly admitted, "I was feeling a little lonely, bro."

Dex chuckled and patted Ben on the back. He was his kid brother, after all. He then turned to Ella and shrugged his shoulders helplessly.

Contrary to his expectations, Ella was not angry in the slightest and displayed that heart-melting smile, looking at the warm interactions between the brothers.

Of course, his wife was amazing. Dex heaved a sigh of relief and started chatting with his brother.

But neither of them noticed an evil glint flashing across Ella's face.

"Asshole," she silently cursed under her breath and joined the brothers in their discussion.

The next several days were exceedingly eventless and normal.

Dex, Ben, and Ella left their hotel early every morning to teach at the remotely located school and came back to their rooms late in the night.

Nothing was weird and nothing was out of place. Still, everything felt completely wrong.

Ben almost got bald by pulling his hair out of frustration.

Why the hell am I this restless? I should just come clean and tell my brother everything upfront.

The image of his goddess and the heavenly night he experienced, flashed across his mind, leaving behind a feeling of guilt and yearning, muddling his already clouded heart.

Just like that, days flew by and it was already their last week in Singapore. And still Ben couldn't figure out heads or tails about his situation.

He didn't find anything wrong with this tempting hot sister-in-law and he couldn't muster the courage to face his brother.

Today, they were hiking a small trail on the outskirts of the city.

People don't usually hike this trail even though it is breathtakingly beautiful and also housed a gorgeous waterfall, because it was extremely slippery and completely lacked any sort of safety rails.

But being the daredevil Ella was, she insisted on hiking for this view and his brother relented as well.

Thus, all three found themselves fumbling and stumbling on the muddy slopes this fine morning.

After, walking, climbing and rolling for a while, Ella put her hands on hips and declared that she was tired.

The three of them sat down under a shady tree, spreading a picnic blanket.

Dex lazily yawned and rested his head on Ella's shoulders, peacefully taking in the view surrounding them.

"Lucky bastard", Ben murmured sulking on the side.

It was an extremely pleasant day with warm sunshine and fresh greenery.

The air instilled a feeling of calm and peace and soon, Dex found himself nodding off.

Ben felt drowsy as well and was about to fall asleep when he suddenly found some sort of glow around Ella.

Though he was surprised, he controlled himself and closed his eyes for the time being, well almost closed.

He could still vaguely see everything happening in front of him.

Ella slowly removed Dex from her shoulders and rested his head on the blanket.

She then proceeded to edge towards Ben and checked if he was asleep as well.

Ben instantly freaked out but remained calm and seemingly asleep on the outside.

"Mortals. Hmph. As if they can resist my dream wave spell.", just a tad bit overconfident, Ella didn't bother to check more thoroughly.

She then slowly walked away and headed deeper into the forest area.

Watching her walk away, Ben slowly and cautiously opened his eyes.

He was extremely thrilled. He was correct and his sister-in-law might just be up to something shady.

But just walking away, didn't amount to anything. He needed more proof.

He followed her from a distance, careful as to not alert her.
