My God, thanks a lot that I was able to scape from him." She talked to herself murmuring.
When the bus was already a mile away from the commercial city, she switched on her mobile phone to contact her mother so she could talk to Baby Arm. She was pressing her mother's number when her cell Phone suddenly produced screechy dinged. Splash became disconcerted as she knew that she didn't turn on the alarm. Had she not turned off her cellphone, the sound would not stop. After thirty minutes, she turned it on again and she was at the same time thankful when the irksome shrill sound was no longer heard. As a result, she was able to get in touch with her mother and her baby.
From the laboratory, Sydney learned that the result was already released. Unknown to Splash, Bro Mor helped him bribed the laboratory man to prepare two copies. One for Ms. Peace and another for Sydney Britton. Hence, he read the confirmation of his blood to Baby Arm.
Knowing that Ms. Peace did not want a man in her life, they knew the probability that Ms. Peace would be scaping away from him. The information he got that Ms. Peace had just left from the laboratory five to ten minutes ago, he did not bother to chase her for confrontation of the confirmation. He remembered too well of the affidavit that he shouldn't have to meet her nor his daughter until the requirements would be completed.
The result rewarded his wearisome efforts finding them. Eventually, he was overwhelmed with elation. Such feeling brought him to a restaurant where he and Bro Mor ate their lunch. After eating, he bought pizza pie for the secretariat department, expecting that they would also be happy for his confirmation that he was the child's father of their youngest office mate, they called Pearl Ace May Solis. Upon their arrival, the good news was shared including the pizza pies. Everybody cheered for him.
"Congratulations! Mr. Sydney Britton. You are too lucky to have Ms. Peace as your child's mother."
"I know! Hasn't she reported yet?" He asked them.
"I heard from my informer that she filed her leave of absence." The instigator informed Sydney by whispering.
"Thanks. I am leaving now. Wish me luck guys for my adventure." He said while he gave them a wink.
He drove the rented car going to his apartment, got his bag that he wore from his head as there are main compartments both front and back, at the left and right sides there were also pockets. He also tightly secured its shoulder strap. Then he opened the front compartment to press a button inside it and he rode in the same car to return it to its proprietor. While he was handing over the key to its owner, a screeching sound from his bag and a flickering red light from his mobile phone synchronically activated. His mobile phone had it's map on it's screen. With such an alarm, he opened the pockets in each sides and pressed hardly two buttons. The owner of the car lost Sydney before his eyes. He looked for him everywhere around his spacious garage, but no person was there, not even Sydney whom he was having a conversation with.
"Well... It's not my business anymore if he suddenly disappears. What matters most was his payment, the key and the car." The owner had his first time soliloquy.
At that same moment, when Sydney disappeared, the bus where Splash was riding had its stop over to refuel. They were at the first place of the region where her hometown belonged. From there, they had to travel five more hours to reach the town proper of her birth place. Splash had to go to a comfort room before she decided to have her afternoon coffee and some cookies for her snacks. She bent her head while scanning her bag for her phone. When she had found it and was about to have another sip of her coffee, Sydney Britton was already seated in front of her at the same table she was occupying and was trying to get her cup of coffee.
"Hi!" He winked at her while smiling. "Can I have a sip of your coffee?"
"What are you doing here? How come that you are here? How did you find me?"
"Hey! You're so panicky. Why? Is it because you're trying to run away from me?"
"You didn't give me a response to my questions!"
"It is a secret.... But if you compromise with me regarding our child, we'll... I will tell you my secret."
"Who cares of your secret, anyway? My snacks would be all yours now."
She left and went up in the bus she was on board since it was already blowing its horn to remind its passenger that they had to go on with their trip.
"Thanks and see you later." Sydney yelled waving his hand. Calm as a sea, he drank and ate the snacks from Splash enjoyably and began thinking.
"I should press the button to bring me at the location where my baby is as of now. I must set it to a moderate travelling to avoid a long wait for her." This was in his thought only as it was his secret invention which he named IBT- Invisible Bag Teleportation. No one knew his invention as he did not dare to divulge it to anyone. Never in his mind would he let the National Inventors Association to recognize it and be allowed its director to assist him have it patented. Just in case Ms. Peace and his daughter would be together with him he would have designed the same bag for them.
Originally, this was not what he planned to invent. What he would like to invent was a machine that could detect a woman or a man who could be caught in the act cheating on with his/her life partner. Perhaps it was the formula and the variable that he programmed that got him his mistake. Despite his failure, he was still planning to go on with it, using this IBT as his basis for the changes he would have discovered.
Subsequently, he was still satisfied with the result of his mistaken invention. In fact, it was only this time that it occurred in his mind to use it to track 'the run away mother of his child.'
Before the darkness of the evening time came, he had to be in his destination. Slowly, he walked toward the bathroom. He sought for an exit going behind it. There and then he set his IBT and... Just like in that garage... PLOK! He was gone in thin air.
At 9:36 o' clock in the evening, he appeared where Splash was exactly getting off the bus. He has set his IBT precisely. So, when Splash was about to carry her luggage, two large hands were quicker than her to do it. When she looked at his face, Sydney was smiling and winking at her once again.
"Hello! It's me again. Let me be a gentleman for you and for our child." He offered her in his meekiest husky voice.
"Whew! I really don't have an idea why you are here again. Am I hallucinating?! But I am not a drug addict.." She was talking to herself in a voice that Sydney's sense of hearing could hear.
"Ms. Peace, I am real. It is really me. Slap me to discard your doubt."
PAK! PAK!
Two slaps hit his face left and right that caused him to be sprawled on the ground as he was unprepared when Splash hit him really... Not only hard but very very hard. He did not expect that Splash would follow his suggestion. Quite embarrassed of the result of his requested slaps, he stood up quickly, shook off the dirt from his hips and hands that grabbed the luggage of Splash.
"Kindly lead the way as I shall be following behind you."
Without talking, Splash walked toward the gate just in front of them and pressed the door bell. After a while, her father opened the gate for them.
Upon entering the living room, his parents were stunned to see a man with their daughter who was a single mother. Their curiosity was discarded when Sydney had spoken.
"Good evening. Sydney Britton, the biological father of her child."
Granny Reyna ranted as she told her that she was not interested to have a man in her life. She was also afraid that he would take away their grand daughter from them. She was thinking that the foreigner would unable to understand what she was saying as it was in their dialect. However, she was wrong when all of a sudden Sydney gave them an assurance.
"Mother... Can I call you mother and (he looked at Ms. Peace's father) father?" Then he continued..." I came without telling your daughter that I am coming. Don't worry, I will not take away my child from all of you. I just want to be with them to do my duty as your grand child's biological father."
"You only want your child?" Grand Jim, the husband of Granny Reyna, queried.
"For now as your daughter didn't expect me at all." Then he added, "She thought that her seed donor was disinterested about them." He remarked.
"Are you interested to both of them?" Granny Reyna interrogated him.
"I wouldn't be here If I was not." He rationally quipped.
Their conversation continued while Splash went to the bedroom where her baby was sleeping. Because of the twelve hours she traveled in coming home she was so tired that she was, in fact, unable to change her clothes. She slept like a dead log.
At midnight, Sydney's sense of sight was really pleased looking at her child beside her mother sleeping with an opened mouth snoring softly. Before lying on bed beside them, he went to the bathroom for a clean and fresh body.
So early in the morning at around fifteen minutes before five, Baby Arm woke up. When she was seated she was very happy to see that her mother was the one sleeping beside her. But when she looked behind her mother's back as she was facing her, she saw a stranger. She was taught not to be with a stranger.. And... on their bed... a stranger was asleep. She was scared. She panicked and screamed very loudly.
"Eeeeeeeeeehhhhh.... Help! Help! Help! Mama, there is a stranger on our bed!"
Her scream disturbed her mother's sleep who changed her position flat on bed with his back touching its softness. Because the bed was only a family size and Sydney was a tall and big man, he was pushed below the floor for the abrupt movement of Splash. His fall woke him up but was still drowsy. Much as he wanted to wake up, still his drowsiness prevailed. He was fully unaware of the reaction of her daughter's mother and her.
"Maaaa! Why was this man sleeping with us on our bed? Who allowed him to sleep with us?"
