Heading to the Science Faction

Ace watched on enviously and interrupted, "Master, we need to determine what to do next."

"Indeed, I intend to go and visit the Science faction as well. Even though we are not planning to get on the helicopter, I still want to understand what the scientists have discovered," replied Aida.

Light chimed in, "Agreed. The government is willing to pick up these scientists which means they likely have valuable information on the virus. "

"I wonder if it's a cure," Ace thought curiously.

"It's possible but unlikely. I doubt the cure to the virus could be found in a handful of days. The more important part is how we will acquire the information from them or should we just steal it?" Aida responded.

"Master, I think the most efficient way to ally ourselves with the Science faction and offer our services to them as they are currently still at a disadvantage. If the negotiations fail, then we may consider using force," recommended Light.

"Mm, let's do that. If all else fails, we can just torture the information out of them," Aida said with a glint in her eyes. She seemed to really look forward to the Science faction not cooperating.

Light laughed calmly as well, the dark side of him that he had been repressing loved the idea of torturing the scientists. Controlling his impulses, he took on the role as a strategist and responded, "Master, Ace and I will be the main show of force when we encounter the Science faction. Master can follow along with Yukio and Rin and take action only when necessary."

Aida agreed with this arrangement. In truth, she had no interest in dealing with others. Besides, this would be a fun opportunity to see the two in action.

With all the preparation complete, each person took a gun and hid it on their body.

They closed the door to the locker room. Aida was excited to apply her new ability. She placed a finger on the door and discharged some electricity onto the door to make it something like an electric fence. If any person, animal or anything conductive were to touch the fence, it would immediately shock them at a high voltage. This would help safeguard the items in the locker room while they were away.

Fortunately, the locker door was metal, so it was able to conduct the electricity she discharged to create the electric fence concept. However, if it were a non-conductive material such as concrete or plastic, her plan would have failed. Thinking about this, she made a mental note to find a few rolls of wire to bring around with her.

During this time, Light and Ace found a couple of airport golf carts that they could use to go around. Since Yukio and Rin were still unconscious, Light and Ace drove one cart while Aida followed behind them and drove the second cart.

Xiao Ai bounced around the cart wandering around and looking at everything curiously while humming to herself cheerfully. While she had seen everything on the web, seeing things with her own eyes was different. Everything felt exciting and new.

Aida was amused as she watched Xiao Ai bounce around. She loved seeing how energetic and happy Xiao Ai was. While Xiao Ai was a happy child by nature, she had been trapped behind a screen for far too long. From now on, Aida would never allow anyone to keep Xiao Ai from doing or going where she wants.

This was a domestic airport, so the group quickly reached the headquarters of the Science faction. The faction was located towards the entrance of the airport since they also had to carefully monitor the unconscious infected.

As the group approached, the armed guards standing as sentry approached them with guns pointed, "Who are you? Stop the vehicle right now and step out with your hands raised."

Light and Ace quickly stepped out of the cart with their arms up. Light took the lead, "We mean you no harm. We would like to speak with your leader."

Aida calmly stayed in the cart, yet the sentry didn't mind. Apparently, they didn't regard her as a threat in the slightest.

Seeing the group was not doing anything to threaten the faction's safety, one of the members left their post to notify their leader. Moments later, the sentry returned with their leader. Unsurprisingly, the person who returned with the guard was Randy. As Randy walked up, he calmly assessed the situation. Seeing Aida and two kids sitting in the second cart, a flash of delight passed his eyes before he resumed a serious expression.

Looking to Light and Ace, he started speaking, "I am Randy, acting leader for the Science faction. How can I help you?"

"We would like to propose a partnership. Our team is willing to offer our services to protect your faction in exchange for more information about the virus."

The sentry on duty who heard the proposition watched on skeptically. From their perspective, they saw a random mix of harmless people: a pale man who seemed to never see the light of day, a refined businessman, a woman, and two kids. They found it extremely odd that this group of people had the audacity to come to the Science faction and offer protection services, but they were well trained and remained quiet. Randy, however, looked thoughtfully at the group.

After a moment, he responded, "We will have a quick spar to test your fighting skills. If you pass, I am willing to vouch for you all and allow you into the Science faction, but the decision to share knowledge of the virus is not in my hands. I can only help facilitate that conversation. Is that okay?"

Light stepped up and took off his jacket, "That is sufficient. Shall we begin?"
