Encountering Aida's Former Master

The two of them made their way up the stairs to the top floor. By the time they reached the top, Artemis was gasping for air. "Why… can't they… make shorter buildings...or give us an elevator that's not locked?! What's wrong with rich people?!"

Aida ignored his dramatic complaints as she surveyed the perimeter while waiting for him to catch his breath. He recovered soon and she asked, "Ready? I can sense Xiao Ai is in the room nearby. We will have to get closer before I can figure out how many people are in there."

Aida couldn't help but clench her fist. She couldn't sense what condition Xiao Ai was in because she had shut down due to low power.

Opening the door from the stairwell, they stepped into a well lit hallway. There were two guards standing at the front that Artie had quickly detected. Aida quickly stabbed them in the carotid and lowered them to the ground before continuing to walk on. The guards didn't even have a chance to scream!

Artemis, who was walking behind Aida, stared at her in a mixture of awe and fear. She had easily killed highly trained guards without batting an eye. If it were him, he would surely hesitate to take a life.

Walking down the hall, Aida sniped or stabbed every guard while Artemis quietly trailed behind. Soon, they reached the room that was holding Xiao Ai.

"There are 10 people in the room Mama. Based on the profiles, there's the man we were searching for in the room as well." Artie reported.

A brief surprise flashed through her head as she heard this before her face became unreadable. She turned to Artemis and asked, "Ready?"

The casual smile on Artemis' face was long gone and he wore a serious expression that evoked confidence. "Yes."

Aida took in a deep breath and was about to step in but just before she could, Artemis pulled her back and said in a serious voice, "Be careful. Don't be reckless. I will have your back."

She flashed a rare gentle smile before waving him off and kicking down the door. Drawing her two guns, she accurately shot at everyone in the room.

In a matter of seconds, 9 of the 10 people were lying on the ground either dead or half dead. This was the advantage of having a cheat system like Artie who could tell her the exact position of everyone in the room. Even if she fought with her eyes closed, she would win 100% of the time.

Before she could savor the win, a knife came flying towards her throat. Sensing the danger, Aida quickly dove to the side to dodge. Despite her quick reactions, she still got a small cut on her neck. Touching her neck, she saw the blood and looked up at the culprit.

It was none other than her former master, Trinity. The look of evil and anger bloomed across her face as she said in a seething voice, "It's you after all."

Trinity looked towards Aida with an amused expression as he played with a knife in his hands. "It's me." He hadn't aged a day since she last saw him. He still had a handsome and playful look on his face that never seemed to leave his face even when he backstabbed and tried to kill her.

"Why?" Aida spat out in anger.

Trinity continued to twirl the knife in his hands as he studied her angry face. "Did you know you were the best student I'd ever had? I was actually very saddened when I had to sacrifice you back then. But hey, you win some, you lose some. It just happened that you were the pawn I had to lose. Honestly, I'd always enjoyed the worshipping look you gave me."

Hearing this, Aida could almost see a flashback. Back then, she would always run towards him with sparkly, innocent eyes and call out to Trinity. "Master Master! Look what I found?"

Trinity would always give her the same amused expression as he listened to everything that she said. She would often say, "Master, you're such a good person!" To which he would solemnly respond, "I'm not a good person."

She shook her head, she should've known that that was a warning to her. He was indeed not a good person. She trusted the wrong person and now her daughter was in his hands.

Shaking her head out of the flashback, she glared at him. "Give me back my daughter and I will let you live."

Trinity chuckled, "You think you can defeat me?"

Aida scoffed and said, "You're the one who tried to turn me into a mindless killing machine. Isn't that because you were afraid of my abilities?"

"No no my silly disciple. I did that for convenience. Besides, did you forget? You've never won a single fight against me."

Turning on her nothingness mode, all the emotions left Aida's face as she stood upright and tossed all her guns and took off the bulletproof vest. She gestured towards her former master.

Shaking his head as though disappointed in Aida's choice, he charged towards Aida. While they were both adept at handling guns, the way people settled fights in the organization had always been with hand-to-hand combat.

Aida lashed out with a kick the moment Trinity came into range but it was easily dodged by Trinity. He even commented, "Tsk tsk, leaving the organization has made you soft. What a slow kick."

As he said this, he threw a punch of his own which Aida quickly dodged. Just before it was about to make contact, Trinity feinted and swept his leg out instead. Aida, who was unable to react in time, fell to the ground but didn't stop moving. She rolled to the side and picked herself up as she prepared for his next attack.
