Bike race

Yu Mian: "Damn sis!!! You got yourself a rich friend. I hope I can also get one." She said with a dreamy look in her eyes.

Yu Chen sighed, "Mian, never, I repeat, never, ever become friends with someone only because he is rich. I would rather be friends with a real poor person than have ten fake rich people around me." She said. "I had to learn this the hard way, hope you don't." Chen added internally.

Yu Mian insisted on he stand, "But sis, having rich friends would be really nice. They can take me out for food and shopping."

Yu Chen shook her head and thought that it would be better not to reply. Suddenly, two bikes came and stopped in front of them.

Chen was shocked at first but soon recognised one of the bikes. It was Kio's. But it was her first time seeing the other bike, and by the looks of it, it was new.

The two bikers took off their helmets and as expected, one of them was Mo Kio. As for the other one, Yu Chen's mouth fell open. It was Si Xia.

Before Chen could react, Yu Mian, who had hidden behind Chen upon seeing the bikers, jumped out and exclaimed, "Wow!!!! You guys even have bikes!!!! They're sooo cooollll!!!!"

She ran upto the boys and started admiring Kio's bike. After walking around the two bikes for. a while, Mian said, "Hey, can I get a ride?"

While she said this, Yu Mian had on her signature smile and looked at Kio.

Mo Kio slightly blushed but no one saw it in the dark. He handed a helmet to Mian and said, "Yeah, we were going to drop you guys after all."

Yu Chen walked over and asked Si Xia, "When did you get a bike?"

Si Xia also handed her a helmet as he said, "I didn't. It's Zenghai's. His parents were worried about him coming and going in a cab from and to the hospital. I borrowed it to drop you."

Yu Chen nodded and looked at the bike. It was not as expensive as Kio's, but was still a latest model from a famous brand.

As Chen got on the bike, she said, "You do know how to drive, right?"

Si Xia chuckled as he started the bike. Kio and Mian beside them went ahead in a flash. Xia also started the bike after making sure Chen was safely seated. They had gone for a short distance when Kio slowed to match their speed. He and Mian said in unison, "Come on, slowpokes."

Then Chen only saw them speed off and Mian's hair flying in the air before she let out a scream. Si Xia had increased the speed so much that Chen felt that she would fall off the bike, and held tightly to Xia's shoulders.

Soon, the two bikes were going neck to neck, with Mian enjoying the wind in her face and Chen tightly holding onto Xia.

Chen was really scared and said, her voice shaking, "Xi-Xia, stop!!!! Please, stop....."

Hearing her voice, Si Xia immediately pulled the brakes and the bike slowed down.
