Was that true? Still?

Sam turned around, quickly masking a smile, "What?"

Si Xia pointed at the photographs in his hand, "Leave those."

Sam's face turned into one of extreme worry, "I can't do that. They are precious souvenirs for me. I can't let you, or anyone have them."

Si Xia gritted his teeth, "Then let me click a photo of them."

Sam scratched his head, deliberating. He sighed, "I can let you do that just for the first one. Chen made me promise that I would destroy the other one. And knowing you are going to show it to her, I can't let you have this. Because it will destroy my friendship with her."

"Okay then. Just the one." Xia spat out.

Sam handed him the first pic, of him and Chen sitting side by side. Xia snapped a quick shot of it and threw it back towards Sam, who left after taking it.

As soon as Sam left the room, Si Xia's facade broke off. His eyes filled with tears, face still expressionless and eyes without any light.

He stared at the photo in his phone as a single sentence rung in his mind, "I'm afraid I love him too much. More than he loves me."

Then suddenly, as though somebody had rung a bell, Xia remembered another sentence, from a memory that he had buried deep in his mind, "I wish I had never fallen in love with you."

The memory was a little hazy, as though Xia remembered it through a veil. But now that the words came back, each and every painful detail, which had been buried deep in his heart, burst out. The party, how distant Yu Chen had been acting, how she had told him she wished she had never fallen in love with him.

Was that all true? Was it true for this lifetime too? After a he had done? Did she still wish she had never fallen in love with him?

At this thought, Si Xia completely broke down.

A few hours later....

Yu Chen stood up from the sofa and stretched. It had been a great competition. She had no doubt that she would come out in the top ten after the system testing. She put down the laptop and looked out of the window. It had begun snowing though the sun was still up.

Chen picked up her phone and put it down back again, feeling a bit disappointed. No calls.

She slapped her cheek and shook her head. No negativity. She would go and sort everything out with Si Xia. Nothing could stop her now.

Just then, Chen's stomach growled. She chuckled and messaged Xi Hua, "I'm making dinner. Bring Zenghai." And got busy in the kitchen.

Yu Chen made a delicious spread for four, packing enough for two and laying the rest on the dining table before covering it to keep it hot. She then went into her bedroom and wore a large oversized blue sweater and skinny jeans. Chen pulled on an overcoat, wrote a quick note telling that she was going to meet Si Xia, and stepped out of the apartment.

Yu Chen reached the Si corporation and was disappointed to find out that the President had not come in the whole day.

But Xia had told her that he had a meeting. Had he lied? Yu Chen wondered as she walked out of the building.
