A chance to change

Si Xia was thunderstruck for a minute before ha also ran to the door of the washroom and yelled at the closed door, "Chen!!! What's wrong!?!?! Are you all right??!! CHEN!!!!!"


Yu Chen's voice came from inside the washroom, "It's okay. I'm okay!! It's just. . .just. . . ."


"Just what!!??" Xia was getting more worried by the second.


"I just got my period!" Chen's voice came from inside the washroom.


Si Xia: "...." Did she just say. . . .period?


"So. . . . ." Si Xia seemed uncertain, "So, what now?" 


"Well now I have two options. I can either spend my whole life inside your toilet or you can go and get me some sanitary napkins." Chen's voice was dripping with sarcasm as she said this.


He stood dumbstruck for a minute before he recovered himself, grabbed his wallet and ran out. On the door, Si Xia passed Mi Chang, who had apparently woken up due to Xia's yelling and rushed to see what was wrong.


Mi Chang was very surprised when Si Xia did not even stop to acknowledge her and ran down the stairs, still in his boxer shorts. She looked back in the room and was even more surprised to find no sign of Yu Chen, Chang knew Chen had slept here. Where could she have gone?


"Yu Chen?" Mi Chang spoke with an uncertain voice.


"Mi Chang? Is that you?" Chen's voice came from the washroom, back to normal now.


"Yeah. What are you doing in there? Is everything all right? Why did Xia run out now?" Mi Chang asked, walking to the door of the washroom.


"Yeah. Everything is fine." Chen seemed tired as she spoke, "Say Mi Chang? Could you pass me my mobile?" Mi Chang looked around, spotted Chen's mobile connected to a charger, took it and gave it to Chen, who opened the door a creak to take it.


"But what happened?" Chang asked as the door closed again.


"Nothing. Just my period. It came early this month. Say Chang, you wouldn't happen to have sanitary napkins at hand. Would you?" Yu Chen asked, sounding hopeful.


"No. I don't. I'm sorry." Mi Chang replied, sounding dejected.


"Don't be." Chen said. And there was silence in the room.


Si Xia came back ten minutes later to find Mi Chang sitting on a chair in his room and Oreo sprawled out near the door of the washroom, whining. Chen was trying to cheer him up, but he continued to whine. Oreo stood up with a joyous bark as he saw Si Xia and rushed upto him.


Xia patted his head before walking towards the washroom with a bag in his hands.


"Yeah." Si Xia spoke, "Here. I bought everything." He handed the bag to Chen who opened the door a crack and closed it again.


Chen came out a few minutes later, clutching the bag in her hands and looking guilty.


But she didn't have much time to as Si Xia and Oreo both rushed forward.


Oreo straight up leapt onto Chen. He had gotten quite big and Chen would have fallen on her hips if Xia had not reacted quickly and caught her.


Si Xia scolded Oreo who whined upon being scolded as Chen hugged him.
