"I did. Best sleep I had in weeks." she replied.
"I'm glad then." Si Xia spoke and leaned over to plant a kiss on the top of her head before getting up and moving towards the bathroom.
Chen peeked from in between Oreo's fur and after making sure Si Xia was safely out of sight, she picked up her mobile and read the message once again.
'Miss Yu Chen.
Good morning. We hope this message finds you in the best of health and living your life to the fullest. Hope you are making the best use of the second chance at life you were given by our company 'a chance to change'.
We have been pioneering to provide second chances to people that deserve it for two years now. But we have noticed some irregularities with some of our customers. It is nothing serious and probably not a recurring phenomena. But to maintain utmost secrecy and care of our customers, we would like you not to approach a hospital if you face any medical issue regarding your brains or memories.
It would be in your best interest to approach our newly established medical division regarding the same. We would also like to call all of our customers for a routine check-up this week. Call the below mentioned number to make an appointment.
Regards
Ni Yang'
By the time Si Xia came out of the bathroom brushing his teeth, Chen had read the message at least a couple of times more. "Some irregularities with some of our customers." Chen wondered what could it mean. But she decided to push these thoughts to the back of her mind and worry about them when she was alone.
She stood and walked over to Si Xia wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest, closing her eyes. Xia chuckled and stroked her head as he continued to brush his teeth.
By the time Xia had showered and gotten ready for his office, Yu Chen had prepared a delicious breakfast and laid it on the table. She straightened his tie and said, "You look really dashing Mr. Si." In reply to which Xia wrapped an arm around her and planted a kiss on the side of her forehead, saying, "You look pretty dashing yourself, Miss Yu."
Chen laughed as she looked at herself in a mirror. Hair thrown into a messy ponytail, wearing a hoodie of Si Xia's, that was way too big for her, and over that an apron. She looked anything but dashing. "Do you think I should get a haircut? They've grown." Chen said, pulling at a stray strand of her hair, which now easily reached below her shoulders. Xia had his face buried in the side of her neck, enjoying her smell. He mumbled, "It's really up to you. I'll make an appointment if you want a haircut. But," he pulled away enough to stare into her eyes and said, "I think long hair suits you better."
Yu Chen blinked and turned her face away, her cheeks turning pink. She wriggled out of his embrace and sat down in a chair, saying, "I'll give it a little more thought. Come on, let's eat. You'll be late otherwise." Xia laughed as he slid into the adjoining chair.
