"Gotta run!" That was what all of the players in the area were currently thinking.
Every single one of the players in the area was as desperate as Lyn. Of course, they were really desperate. After all, leveling up in Arnis is an arduous and grueling process. For someone to increase their level they would need to spend a lot of time and effort on it, which not many people can have and afford to do. That is why, at this very moment, they couldn't help but look over at the culprit who dragged them into this.
If looks could kill, Lyn would have probably died a million times already.
To the players' dismay though, Lyn was very oblivious to all of this. He concentrated on fleeing and did not notice that the other players were glaring at him with ill intent at all.
Thus, he ended up being in a prickly situation; The players decided to gang up on him at that moment, and sure enough, everyone did.
"Beat that bastard up!!!"
"Tie him up!!!"
"I'm gonna beat you up so hard your mother won't be able to recognize you!!!"
"WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!! WHY ARE YOU GUYS TEAMING UP ON ME!?," Lyn shouted as he felt incredulous about the situation.
"OF COURSE, WE WOULD GANG UP ON YOU!! WHO WAS THE ONE WHO FREAKING WOKE UP THAT DRAGON IN THE FIRST PLACE!? IT WAS YOU!!!," They shouted in response.
"HOW DO YOU EVEN KNOW THAT IT WAS ME?!!"
"WAS EARLIER NOT OBVIOUS ENOUGH!!? YOU FUCKING B*TCH!!!"
"GET HIM!!!"
"KILL HIM!!!"
"DON'T LET HIM ESCAPE!!!"
Now Lyn has another plate to deal with. At first, it was just one plate he had to deal with—but now? Hoho, another one had been added, no less troublesome than the first one.
Lyn couldn't understand why things escalated this high. He just wanted to finish the quest, get the rewards, and go home after a long hard work. But unfortunately for him, the world wasn't that kind.
"Haa" He sighed while frowning in frustration.
Once again, he found himself running with all his might, though the only difference this time was that it wasn't a dragon but a mob of angry players this time.
"Haa" He sighed again. Feeling the familiarity of the situation made his frown deeper than before.
He was feeling tired of the same exact situation happening again and again.
"Should I just die?" Lyn thought as he was feeling very suicidal. He was getting really tired of this situation.
Swoosh!
BOOM!
An energy blast was aimed at where Lyn and the other players chasing Lyn were at. Due to the energy blast, they were thrown off into the air, and the ground broke and filled the surroundings with smoke.
Lyn and the other players were frightened and rattled by the energy blast. Fortunately, none of them was hit directly by it.
They looked around in the direction where the energy blast was thrown and realized it was the dragon. They shuddered in fear and immediately ran once again, ignoring Lyn.
The dragon was flying towards them and was already catching up to them. It was only a matter of time before they got caught.
While they were preoccupied with struggling to run away in hopes of escaping from the dragon's might---one of the players noticed that Lyn was nowhere to be found.
"WHERE IS THAT GUY?! HE DISAPPEARED!" He shouted.
"WHAT?!" The players shouted in unison.
All the players stopped for a minute and looked around their surroundings in confusion.
And there, they saw something; A burrow of some sort.
The bastard—Lyn—was digging up a burrow and was just hiding. This immediately triggered the players who were busy running away with their lives at stake, to be exact all of the players who got dragged into this situation were pissed off.
While they were about to attack Lyn with their weapons in hand, a peculiar player stopped them.
"Stop!"
"What?"
"What is it?"
"Don't try to stop us!!! Or else you will get it instead!"
Seeing that he had succeeded in grabbing the attention of the players, he cleared his throat and introduced himself.
"Ahem, ahem. I am FeelingAwesome123 and I have a proposal that may interest you all.
"Are you guys willing to listen to my proposal?"
"What's with this nonsense! You are wasting my time! It's much better if I kill that bastard once and for all!" Player 1 said with a harsh tone.
"Yeah! That's right!" Player 2 agreed with what the other player said.
A consensus was quickly formed and everyone was agreeing with what Player 1 said. They were about to grow more impatient, when all of a sudden, their deliberations were interrupted by a sudden shout that silenced the entire group.
"Listen everyone!! I have devised a plan to ensure our survival!" FeelingAwesome123 raised his voice.
Silence---!
"My plan is to hand that bastard that is hiding over there to the dragon!" FeelingAwesome123 proclaimed, pointing toward Lyn and then gesturing toward the distant dragon.
The players' eyes lit up, and they immediately came to an agreement with him. However, some players doubted this plan.
"And how do you plan on doing that? That bastard is as slippery as an eel, none of us can catch him!
"Plus, there is no guarantee that the dragon will spare us after we hand him over!"
"Yeah, that's right!"
"He's right!"
Several players voiced their skepticism about the plan.
"That may be true that that bastard is as slippery as an eel, but I have a way to catch him in one fell swoop. And also I can guarantee that the dragon will spare us—all because according to my observation earlier, that dragon seems to have intelligence...
"So as long as we hand that bastard over, then all of this will be over!"
The players exchanged glances with each other and nodded. They were all now in agreement and no doubts were raised anymore.
Now that they were all in agreement with each other; They quickly started the plan and cooperated with each other as there was no time left to waste; The dragon was getting closer and closer, so they only had a minute or so left to finish the plan.
They hastily moved over at Lyn's directions and started their operation.
"Hey, Awesome! Hurry up and make your move!"
"Gotcha!" FeelingAwesome123 sprinted toward the burrow where Lyn was hiding and immediately started casting hand signs as he grabbed a scroll in his inventory.
While they were moving toward Lyn; Lyn however didn't feel any pressure at all, as he decided that it was better to just die now.
He heard all of the things they were talking about earlier, about how they were gonna catch him alive and hand him over to the dragon. At first, he was against it, but on second thought, he thought it wasn't that bad. He was just too tired already, so right now, he just became listless and was just waiting for them to come.
'This is it huh…?'
He looked at the blue sky, lost in thought.
