Can We Meet?

"Grandma?" Ann called in a shaky and uncertain voice when Grandma Rosie took her call. It was barely 4 AM over there, and she didn't like that she was disturbing the lady's sleep, but Grace had assured her that it was okay.

"Ann? Is that you?" Grandma Rosie asked hopefully as she sat up on her bed and cradled the phone closer to her ears so she would hear Ann's voice.

Ann blinked back tears from her eyes, "Yes. I'm so sorry..."

"There is nothing to be sorry about. I should be sorry for abandoning you and your mother. I need to make it up to you. When am I seeing you?" Grandma Rosie asked eagerly.

"I'll talk to Brad to know if he has any plans of returning soon. If he doesn't, I'll have to come home myself," Ann said, making Grandma Rosie smile. She was glad that Ann had already considered her place as home.

"I'll be waiting for you. I hope Brad is safe? How is Grace?" Grandma Rosie asked.
