Chapter 1.1

The track through the forest was one they had taken several times. However, the child had one other goal in store for the day. The gathering of ingredients was rather easy. She had to scale down a cliff with a waterfall to get the wild berries, take Paradise eggs from a Scavenger's nest along with all its loot, gather a few bundles of wheat and sugarcane for flour and sugar. The small child picked up a few edible flowers for decor.

Now that the shopping was done, she looked out toward the nearby mountain. Nodding her head in determination, the child made her way to the border. The sounds of battle reached her ears the closer as he got. Looking up, she located the tallest tree in this area at the border's edge. Remaining hidden in the leaves, she looked upon the flames and destruction of war.

Granny told her that the Darklands were a beautiful, mystical realm shrouded in a constant state of night, unlike their lands. The sight before her very eyes was nightmare fuel. A great being of immense power rose from the volcano. The eruption was raining lava all across the land, and that lava was transforming into various creatures. The creatures attacked without provocation and feasted on the flesh of their victims. While others... while others... They are even worse fates than that. However, a ray of hope arrived from dark clouds blanketing the sky.

The blindly light that struck the being wounded it significantly. This being was similar to the first, but she didn't want to assume that they may be family. The two beings gave off such power that it would be easy to think they were gods. The two sides were speaking to each other, but because of the barrier on the border, she couldn't hear a word. The people below fought as best as they could against the creatures to survive.

She wanted to leave, but she frozed in place by something. She had this compelling feeling to stay and watch because it was wrong. The scene before her should not have been occurring as it was. Why was she even seeing this? The two powerhouses began to fight each other, which led to further destruction. They were evenly matched for the most part in the beginning. However, something happened; she felt it like the tears suddenly streaming down my face. The darker being gain more power all of a sudden. As if he awakened his full strength.

No... The child held her heart as the scene unfolded. "No, Daemon!" I shouted as the light side between the two was struck down mercilessly. Why did she say that name? Why was she in so much pain?

Was he falling this way? Her eyes opened wider as she realized that the giant mass of beaten light as crashing toward her. She moved as quickly as she could to get away from the danger zone. Then turned back around and ran toward the barrier for no reason at all. There was no reason for her to go to the barrier. She was possibly going to die by receiving an unintended body slam. What was she doing?! The burning light dispersed into nothingness between both lands as it hit the barrier. Yet, right where she stopped, a pained grunt as a large mass hit the ground was heard.

Could her eyes get any wider? A hand fell through the barrier, and its finger landed against her shoe. Holy shit.
