Chapter 9

The school's atmosphere is extremely heavy on the midterm day. All the students are holding onto a textbook or flipping study cards. Han Bing slowly rolled her chair into the test center. Quite a few students are here already. Some students are holding their hands out praying.

Qin Shi Ran is in a different test room. Although Qin Shi Ran acts like a delinquent most of the time, he's a fast learner when he puts his mind to it.

An instructor came in. "Put away your study notes. If you are caught cheating, you would be directly expelled."

The instructor handed out the exam to each row. The exam is a 100 page packet that consists of all subjects.

"You can begin now." After the teacher set the timer, students raced to get the exam done.

Han Bing analyzed each question and answered them with ease. After 4 hours passed, Han Bing put her pen down. She rolled her chair to the front desk.

"Yes, student?" The teacher observed this young girl in a wheelchair. White healthy skin with a pair of calm eyes that seems to hold thousands of years of wisdom. He recognized this girl, Han Bing. She is the talk of the teachers. Excellent grades but lost her leg due to some accident recently.

"I'm done with the exam." Han Bing handed the exam to the teacher.

"Are you sure? Did you check over your work?" The teacher skeptically asked.

"Yes." Han Bing checked three times before handing it in.

"Okay. You can leave now." Youngsters these days are too overconfident.

Since there is 5 hours left, the teacher checked over her work. The more he flipped, the more his eyes widened.

Right after Han Bing left the test room, she toured the scenery of the silent and empty hallway stopping in front of a sakura tree in the school backyard. She sat there fascinated by the sakura tree.

After a few hours, Han Bing completely fell asleep from the peaceful scenery. The students who are taking this exam saw Han Bing sleeping in the backyard. However, Han Bing seems more beautiful than before. As fireflies dance around her hair, she looks like a fairy who came down to earth.

Qin Shi Ran managed to finish his exam an hour early. On his way down, he saw Han Bing. Mesmerized, he walked into the school backyard. This brat is so much cuter when she's

sleeping.

Seeing many males peeking at her, he put his jacket over her and pushed her wheelchair out. He stared at her sleeping face. Regret filled his heart for the first time. Perhaps, he has done something wrong.

All the way until Han Bing's house, Qin Shi Ran has been wondering about his previous reckless lifestyle.

"Shi Ran ah, what happened?" Hua Yi Xian looked down and saw the sleeping Han Bing. "Thank you. She is such a nut head. Come in for a snack."

"No, it's fine, Hua aunt. It's very late already. I will come back in the morning to pick her up."

Hua Yi Xian wanted to say something, but before she spoke, Qin Shi Ran ran away.

Han Bing woke up early in the morning, but only to realize that she's currently in her own bed.

Han Bing dressed up in the school uniform and rolled out. Hua Yi Xian is cooking breakfast in the kitchen. "Mom, how did I come home?"

"it's that Qin family brat. He got you back from school." Hua Yi Xian took out the fried egg from the pan and laid it on the plate.

"Oh" Han Bing prepared to eat.

"Don't say oh. Go and thank him later." Hua Yi Xian lectured her daughter. Hua Yi Xian can tell that her daughter doesn't like this boy, but she can feel that he's a good boy deep down.

Ding. The doorbell rang.

"It must be him. I'm coming." Hua Yi Xian went to open the door.

"Hua aunt, good morning." Qin Shi Ran respectfully greeted Han Bing's mother.

"Come in. I made some breakfast. You want some?" Hua Yi Xian asked.

"Sure." Qin Shi Ran accepted the offer.

Han Bing gave him a side eye. "You sure make yourself at home."

"What can I do? I am afraid you will die from loneliness without me" Qin Shi Ran shamelessly said.

Han Bing almost choked on her breakfast. "Ke, ke, ke…"

Qin Shi Ran hurriedly patted her back. "Eat more slowly"

Han Bing wiped her mouth. Who's fault is it?

"Ummm, thank you for bringing me back yesterday." Han Bing silently said.

Qin Shi Ran pretended not to hear it. "What? What did you say? I can't hear you."

Han Bing ignored him and turned around to get her school bag.

"Yo, wait for me." Qin Shi Ran stuffed the breakfast in his mouth and chased after Han Bing. Hua Yi Xian chuckled on the side. It's nice being young.

The classroom is crowded with students talking about the exam.

"What did you put for the English short response B. I wrote…"

"For the math section, I heard a lot of the answers are D."

When Han Bing got pushed into the classroom, the direction of the discussion changed.

"I wonder how much Han Bing got."

"She's probably in first place again."

Instructor Gao came in. "Everyone, please bring the voice down. I'm going to give back all your test scores now."

"Kuai Tiao Ming"

The student named Kuai Tiao Ming stood up.

"Xin Zi Qi"

…

"Qin Shi Ran"

Qin Shi Ran stood up and grabbed his exam. His eyes popped out seeing his score.
