At the onset of winter, Dennis Richards’ life abruptly changes when he stumbles upon a pagan cult of female survivalists. The ladies of Liberty Mountain have been living off the grid for fifteen years as they prepare for the end of days.



Under Sheila Carson’s charismatic leadership, the clan has turned a lucky lottery ticket into a fortress of learning. As devoted followers of Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War, they have taken a sacred oath to preserve knowledge in service to civilization. It is the only way to prevent the fall of a new dark age, which will surely follow in the wake of an apocalyptic event.



Richards is in a box with no exit. The women don’t want him there, and he doesn’t want to be there. They will not let him go because no man alive may know their home. They refuse to kill him, for he’s done them no harm, and he can’t stay because he is not one of them.
