Young Marines~Day one recruit training

The first meeting, I knew no one, I really didn't want to be there, and I didn't think I was going to like anything about this program. But I took a deep and steeped into the room. My recruit class had about 20 kids in it. our instructors name was gunnery sergeant meldrum. He was going to teach us how to do everything so we were ready for our graduation. he started with teaching us how to stand at attention. He told us ti put our heals together and make our toes 45º apart, with our hands by our sides at the seams of our trousers (those are our pants) in loss fists, looking straight ahead and not smiling, talking, or moving. He said we would do this every time we were to fall in. For opening formation we would take attendance, do a quick uniform inspection, and do PT for about 15 to 20 minutes. After PT we take a 5 to 10 minute break and wait for further instructions, but since we were only recruits we would take attendance then fall out and going to the back room to learn the recruit guidebook. as recruits our job is to learn the ranks, the obligation and the young Marine Creed. We also learned how to fall in, fall out, do column movements, and March. Once we could successfully do all of those things and pass the recruit test we would have our graduation.
