Chapter 30: An Army

George's POV

I was practically dying once we were done training. Dad was right that training was going to be hell. Every single day since I started, I felt like I would die and now it was finally done. I learned so much and now I feel like I could take Vicente on, maybe even 20 Vicentes.

"You have learned everything I know. You are more than ready to take on that warlock and its army. Go out and make me proud." Dad said, as I set out on my way to fight the warlock. I entered the teleport gate and readied myself to be away from home for at least a week or two.

Vicente's POV

I still couldn't completely get used to the new sword and its powers. I couldn't completely control my power with the output of my attacks changing around. I didn't want to try using lucky dice especially if my power was all over the place while I attacked. I haven't gone on many quests since the Camelot quest since it gave me a lot of money. I only went on some quests to train a little bit to see if I could control my power when on an actual quest. I asked Dante and the training was to attack a candle which is next to two other candles. I had to cut the candle on the side without cutting the other two. I couldn't manage to do that because I would either cut all the candles and even manage to cut the table. I burned the candles, sent them flying into a wall or tree, and accidentally cut down 2 trees. The other trees got set on fire and almost burned the forest down. Dante kept complaining and insulting me every time I failed. There were times when I wanted to punch him in the face, but I stopped myself since he could destroy me instantly or at least it felt that way.

"Is that the best you can do, pathetic! Haha so embarrassing man and you want to be the strongest. You won't even be able to beat Xavier at this point." Dante said.

George's POV

Once I stepped into the teleport gate, I saw wreckage as far as I could see. I also saw a huge army approaching my location. I saw the army's boss all the way in the back and from what I could count at least 250 soldiers. I started fighting as many monsters as I could, gaining experience from it. Skeletons, zombies, goblins, and other types of monsters as I clear through as many as I could. I was finishing up the 40th monster as I got blindsided by something.

"Use skill: Devil's Fist Version 3. Use skill: Devil's Backflow. Use skill: Devil's Pressure Point of Death." I used multiple skills to take down 50 enemies. This was going better than I expected. I heard a roar come from behind me and saw a devil. I have never gone against a devil, but I'm still going to destroy it.

"Use skill: Devil's Suplex. Use skill: Devil's Soul Burn." I started burning its soul as I used a suplex to destroy that Devil. I was sure that it was done so I tried to finish off the rest of the army. It had been 2 and a half hours since I started and I was dealing with the last 15 monsters. I felt a bit tired, but nothing close to the training I had to deal with. The only enemy left was the warlock who stood there with an angry look on his face.

"Use skill: Aura. Use skill:  Devil's Limiter Release." I felt like I could take him down in a second.

"How dare you attack me and my army. I will kill you and conquer this world." The warlock said. I could feel that he was planning to hit me with a large scale spell. I was about to attack him when I felt something stab my shoulder. It was the Devil I thought I had killed, but it was stabbing me. It was planning to keep me in place to kill both of us.

"This is a short-range skill so I didn't think I would be able to use it. Use skill: Absorption." The Devil started being absorbed powering me up quite a bit.

"Use skill: Hell Lase-" I cut the warlock off as I sent him flying across the wreckage.

"Use skill: Hell Laser." I vaporized him as I sat down. That attack takes a lot out of me. That devil sure did give me a boost in power.

Vicente's POV

I finally managed to control my strength as I went to the guild to find any quests to do. Wyvern and Goblin King with goblins terrorizing towns. I wanted to try an extremely difficult solo quest. George came out of the Guild Master's office with a smile and a few cuts.

"You alright George? You look a little beaten up." I said to George. He looked proud of himself as he looked at me.

"I just took on about 300 monsters, a devil, and a warlock in 4 hours. I trained a lot to do that mission." George told me. I felt extremely motivated to finish my quest in 2 hours. I went into the Guild Master's office to see if I could take it on my own.

"Nice quest, so that look is telling me that you want to take the quest on your own. Jeez what's the deal with both you and George wanting to take difficult quests by yourselves." The Guild Master said, while rubbing his temples.

"I have to get stronger so taking difficult quests is one way of doing that. So am I authorized to take this quest by myself?" I asked.

"I authorize you to take this quest by yourself." He said, still rubbing his temples. As I head to the teleport gate, I feel this rush of excitement taking a difficult quest like this.
