Chapter 3(8) Assassin

Heru gave a curt nod, smiled at an oblivious Razé and turned to the rest of the group.

"We have what we came for now scatter. William, Nadia and Yuri you guys go with Asher and Muzing's prodigy. Meet us in the Academic Town in twelve hours." And just like that, Kina, Kristina and Heru turned to flickers as dust rose from the ground to indicate their departure. I turned to Yuri who glared at the spot that her husband had stood at. I rolled my eyes inwardly, not yet their still dating.

"Let's move before the sun starts to come down completely. Prodigy what is your-"

" Razé. Miss Yuri their getting closer." I say as I began to drag the man in question further down the road my pace beginning to transition into a sprint, my fingers firmly interlocked with Razé's. William and Nadia followed soon after jogging to catch up, Yuri shook her head as she caught up to us.

"We're going to have to move faster than this." Nadia commented worry reverberating from her usually clear voice. I nodded and squeezed the boy's hand using sudden momentum from my upbrute stop. Swinging his weight on to my back, he was three heads taller than I was but he was also so skinny to the point where he was barely even bones and skin. Lily injected small amounts of her strength into my back and ankles. My muscles strained and tensed my body shot forward surpassing the rest of my squad as my feet moved. Razé's arms wrapped around my shoulders his breathing ragged from the sudden change shift in gravity and the fact that he could no longer walk. The squad soon caught up glancing at me in worry. My surroundings were nothing but blurs of colour the only indication of movement my feet and the wind against my face and body abstracting my movements. My body dodged based trees, snaring tripping traps, uneven grounds and bushes of thorns and prickly flowers through sheer luck and the minimal guidance of my squad. A body slammed against my own, the wind ripped from my lungs, Razé thrown from my back and on to the ground, rolling and crashing against a tree. I fell in to a small river, the water rushing into my soar lungs and separating the water gasses with oxygen ones. I gasped as the water healed my bruised stomach from the impact of slamming into the rock hard body of that person. My head popped out of the water, my hair free from the ribbon that held it up.

'Oof, that really hurt, ya'd think the man was made out of marble with the hardness of his body.' Lily says excitement an echo of a promise in her words. I stifled a groan as I got out of the water, my bag strewn on the ground near the shorelines. Unsheathing the bright blue sword from it's scabbard a slight blue aura wrapping around it. In front of me stood the assassin who had followed us, pinning Razé's small frame against the wooden bark of a Weeping Willow tree, a cockiness to his expression. So they were after Razé, normally I'd let these things go if they didn't involve myself, but they do. The swords height increased threefold, an aura of a deep blue hue crackled around it, a swirling slighterey wetness encasing the sword, hugging it tightly as electric pulses shot through the sword and around it, grabbing the attentions of both the assassin and Razé.

"Ha! You're friend is still alive, Ézar." Says the assassin a playful smirk on his face that dropped as he scanned my body up and down, my brows furrow as I glared at the assassin. "And now you shall experience what it means to loose someone." He says.

"We aren't friends." I say," now give Razé or rather Ézar over he's apart of the Guardian Squadron, Assassin." He flinched at my words. Razé's now clear eyes stared at me wide in horror and confusion.

'You know you'll get in so much trouble if they found out you know of the rules between the Squadrons.' Lily pointed out.

'I know.'

"Mhmmm, to bad I am not apart of the squad anymore." The assassin says. My eyes widen inwardly, he quit? Is that why he's so brave? He dropped Razé on the ground, rushing towards me a dagger at the ready darkness encasing the swords blade as he aimed for my neck- a clean cut.

I feigned to the left, studying his movements, his feet his posture- for an opening that is bound to reveal itself in his feral state. His dagger aimed there the instant he saw my movements, his feet retracting back slightly to give a powerful thrust. The basic Assassin's tactic. Spinning like a top free from it's rope my sword sliced horizontally, the assassin dodged down. My sword changed direction mid swing rushing down and splitting the air creating an ear splitting screech. My Target's eyes widened in shock for a split second as he rolled back dragging his feet in to the air and pushing of the ground he twisted mid air and landed on the dull side of my sword, perfect balance instantly gained. He smirked in victory. Too soon. Twirling the sword in my hands the blade's sharp side brushing slightly against his shoes, water wrapped around his legs from where my sword had touched, electric arch's swung widely as they zapped the assassin's legs. He convulsed and collapsed with jitters of shock and electric confusion. I blinked,it hadn't even lasted three minutes. Shrugging I sheeted my sword and picked my bag up as my sword back to its original height, striding towards a stunned Razé. I held my hand out.

"Your elements are lightning and water?" He asks. I gave a nonchalant shrug.

"Perhaps. I'm still new to the world and these are just tricks learned on instinct." I say as he reached up and intertwined his fingers with my own, I pulled him to his feet and squared down.

"Get on, we need to catch up with the others." I say, the sun had already started to set, dusting the sky in rosy colours and cold icy one's because of the blue sun and red one. Razé nodded and clambered on.

"How does that assassin know you, Razé? And why did he call you Ézar?" I ask.

" We knew each other from my world he used to bully me to I changed my name to Razé when we crossed our bridge. He joined the assassins seven years ago and I decided to be an Elementor which pushed us further from one another. The rest is something I don't want to talk about." Razé says. I nodded as I sped through the woods following the faint trail my team mates left behind.

"Alright. I'm glad you have your sight back." I say.

"You knew?" Razé's voice sounded shocked in my ears. I gave a slight nod.

" It was obvious with the milky fog covering your pupils." I say. He stayed silent not knowing how to react.
