Chapter 8 (13): First Test Part 1

A courtyard stretched out in front of us as we stepped through the academy gates. The place was halfway crowded up with enrolling Elementors while the rest was just empty space or sometimes filled with glimpses of familiars or summoned animals. Razé gazed in a daze like state over some of the people, his legs shaking slightly. Ah, not the time to get the shivers, mate. I placed my hand on his shoulder and guided him through the crowd, there was tables stacked to the side where you would receive your uniform, but since we've already got ours we're going straight for the great Hall. It was a church like building, the great Hall. Aches sprawled over the ceilings as pillars held up the rooftop, the building was made of pure white jade stones, the windows stained with color. Roses climbed the walls of the Hall, the leaves rustling in the gentle breeze of the summer winds. The Sun's glinted off of the windows, casting starry shapes on the smooth surface of the cement floor, dancing in glittering spirals as the few trees around the building's leaves blocked the lights. The doors were wide open, few stood in neat rows in the great Hall. Gáókay stood on a raised platform, whispering softly to each other, Gæsi, which are the elders of the academy city and school sat on throne like chairs, their bodies inclined towards one another, their black and white robes the only sign that they were actually Gæsi, their faces hidden by the shadows of their hoods. I dragged Razé to the farthest corner I could while still standing in the lines. Gæsi are great Magus, that rule over their very own world's or even some the kingdoms surrounding their bridges. Their strength equal to that of the Royal King, Trivan, who has the elements of the celestial path,a very rare element and the potential of a Magi. This test, basically tells you your potential, potential is what your limits will be one day, but that's just your border line, where it will become harder to pass through once you've reached it. Potential is ranked by:

Unranked;

Low: A person without elements

Midd low: A person with a weak element.

Medium: A person with a chore element.

Medium low: A person with a shield element.

Medium High

High: A person with a defensive element

Ranked:

Xyun: Someone with only one element, capable of both protecting and harming a person.

Μeo: Someone with two elements and could perhaps one day destroy a small village.

Υunyos: Someone capable of destroying a average village in one night.

Uncommon:

Healer: Someone capable of healing someone with their elements which is an impossible feat unless you've come to a certain point in elemental gathering.

Knight: A person who is able to protect an entire city with their elements.

Mage: A person able to protect a kingdom with their elements only.

Magistrate Mage: A person able to wipe out an entire battalion of Blood wraith. A creature made of nothing but bone and blood that eats flesh.

Magus: Able to build a bridge between worlds.

Great Magus: Able to make a world submit.

Magi: A person that can power the entirety of Cristina and protect the kingdoms of a maximum of 6 without having to much trouble.

Œso: A Legendary figure without equal. Powers unknown.

Razé sighed.

"Sorry, it's just I have never been in such a huge crowd while having my sight, and never have I had to see the stress on their faces while feeling their emotions as well." He apologizes. I smile softly.

"Meh, it's fine. Just focus on me, I'm not stressed out by any of this and I'm pretty sure that if I was the ground would be soaking wet and electrocuted by now." I say with a smug smile. He rolled his eyes and removed my hand, opting to hold it instead. I raised an eyebrow, baby much? Oh well, it really is fine.

'You have eyes on you, Ash.' Lily whispered in my head,I frowned. Someone who can ready thoughts, huh? Otherwise she wouldn't have whispered. I built a castle of mana around my head, protecting my thoughts. Making the walls thicker than seven bodies evenly spaced apart from one another.

' Sigh, nice job. You just proved that your stronger than you, look dumbass.' Lily reminded me.

'I know. That's why I did it.' I reply.

' Eh? What interesting thing have you planned out, little Ash?' Lily asks excitedly. My eyes caught scarlett ones underneath a black and white hood, who stared at me in mild curiosity,I widened my eyes in shock. My body soul felt like it was being dragged in to a never ending hole without a bottom. I looked away quickly. Whoever that is, is definitely not a Gæsi, perhaps a Magi, though. A Person dressed as a rank lower than what they truly are,is either here to wreak havoc on the tests, which didn't happen before, so probably not, or here to simply observe and to retell his findings to one of the King's for recruitment. Ahh,okay my plan is so f@cked now. I can literally do nothing outstanding with this man here. Ugh,but I'm still going to go through all four tests. The room suddenly went quiet as a Gáókay stood forward, his voice amplified by sound magic.

" Good morning everyone. I am the principal of this Academy, Akuani. My name is Thusik,no need to call me Mr or Sir,just my name is fine. Let me first welcome each of you, some of you may have just crossed your bridge a few days ago or even the year before,so you might not understand what I am saying so please forgive me for this inconvenience. This Academy will help you further your talents in your elements,or perhaps discover what your elements are. We teach about the history of the Cristina, of the previous world's who's bridges have crumbled due to age, we teach about the danger each world represents and what safety measures it offers in turn. We teach about the demons who once crawled from the depths of a bridge like all other creatures do. We teach about the bridges and their long lasting history. Now for the first test, most of you will be tested in this room while a quarter of you will be sent to different rooms around the castle grounds. This is the Great Hall, where we will gather in times of attacks and worry. The rest of campus will be explained to those who pass the tests. Now I hope to see each of you after this test. It is a potential tester,to see how far you could go with your element, how much you could do and what your element might be. When Fà calls your name now you must go and stand at the entrance of the Hall to be escorted to another room." The principal briefly pointed to a man who stood beside him before pointing to the exit. The Magi who had looked at me stood up and walked away.

"Well, shit." I mumble, but Razé still heard me. The other Gæsi followed close after but he disappeared about halfway to the door while they just kept walking.

"Afraid of them?"

"Did you not feel that? Or are your senses clouded now that you could see?" I ask in reply giving him a pointed look. He shrugs but nodded.

"I felt it,and sure as hell know what you mean, but they're only Gæsi,I'm sure they aren't allowed to hurt us." Razé says.

"That isn't comforting at all." I hiss back,he grins but stayed quiet as the Gáókay began to call out names.

"....Asher Dawn!" Well there goes hope, hope that it can survive in the gravel of the garden without itself. I hung my head, mumbling inconsistencies and cursing in my own language so that people don't diss me.

"It can't possibly be so bad,can it?" I heard Razé ask.

"Ask me that before the second test starts. Then we'll talk again." I say. I exited the Hall and was about to find a spot in the trees to sit and wallow my anxiety away but like always my luck had gone on a fishing trip in the waters of Norway.

"Asher Dawn? Follow me." A Robed Gæsi who I assume to be the one who stared at me asks. I furrowed my brows as he began to walk in the direction of the library. His voice sounded much younger than I had pegged him to be,well now I'm in a bigger binder.
