Chapter 3

When I reached the surface I hit the ground hard choking and coughing from what I assumed had been dust blowing into my face. Contrary to what you may think I am still human and can feel the pain from things that could have killed me and otherwise. This however felt like something was tearing through my chest as I tried to cough up the dust. When the coughing and pain subsided I pushed myself off the ground and pulled out my phone calling for backup, explaining what I saw as well as what happened.

After being yelled at for breaking protocol I hung up and lay on the ground breathing deeply as I looked up at the sky feeling the tears roll down the sides of my face. I spoke to the clouds for a time asking questions of a god I no longer believed in till the backup I called for came. They showed up wearing bright yellow hazmat suits  a few running over to me while the rest of the team secured the area sealing it off from the locals.

I sigh as they put up a quarantine tent then forced me inside sealing me in it like I had the plague or something. A few hours after I was poked and probed with needles and gloved fingers by people hiding behind hazmat suits. I waited patiently till I was cleared to leave the tent and and get on a plane back home. I still had the feeling something was going to go horribly wrong
