Confused, Surprised, Shocked!

Lisa had been surprised to see Tom acting very professionally at work.

He laughed less, had no lollipop in his hand, and was even very strict with the students.

Does he have a multiple personality disorder or something?

How come he acted very differently when he was at home or with his friends?

She reminded herself that it was not her business so she stopped bothering herself about how he behaved.

But she hoped he continued to behave like this. That way, she wouldn't have a problem with him.

After a few hours, they finally settled inside his office.

She quietly stood beside him by his desk while he was focused on the files he was going through.

When he lifted his eyes to look at her, he saw her staring and she did not bother to break eye contact.

"What...are you doing?" He asked her in a low voice.

She raised a brow at him in confusion. Did it look like she was doing anything? She wondered.

"S...standing" She answered in uncertainty since she had no idea what exactly he was asking her about.

He just stared at her and said nothing before he picked up his phone.

"What's your favourite food?" He suddenly asked out of the blue which shocked her.

"Pardon?"

"Food. Your favourite." He looked at her again as he emphasized.

Lisa was very surprised by his question but she tried not to show it.

No one had ever asked her what her favourite food was. She simply ate whatever was offered to her.

So why was he asking her something so insignificant right now?

"I eat anything. I am not a picky eater." She managed to answer with a straight face.

"Alright. You should go sit on the couch over there. You might hurt your leg if you keep standing for too long. I'll order you something to eat."

He thought he saw the look on her face change for a split second before it returned to her usual poker face.

She thought it was weird that someone was being nice to her, and that 'someone' was a person she did not like at all.

"I'm used to keeping guard. And I am not hungry" She said in a tone less ruder than her usual tone.

"You haven't had anything to eat since morning. I'll order you something." He quickly dismissed her with the wave of a hand.

Lisa was confused. Was she supposed to say a thank you? An okay? Or was she to simply nod?

Not knowing what to say at that point, she turned around to go sit on the couch.

Tom watched her turn and walked slowly to the couch at the other end of his office.

He just didn't know what to think at that point so he simply ordered for a meal for the both of them.

For the first time, Lisa was uncomfortable. She did not like it when someone was nice to her. Because she did not know when the order would come for her to get rid of the person.

And even though a lot of people thought she was ruthless and emotionless, the look of betrayal on their faces whenever she killed the one who had been nice to her, always throw her into depression.

Tom's new change in attitude was surprising to her. She could not read him so she had no idea what was up with him. And it was beginning to bother her a bit.

'Well, not my business' She reminded herself.

------------

That night, she was preparing to tuck herself into bed when she heard a knock on the door.

She quickly looked down at her black pyjamas to be sure there was no skin exposed before opening the door to find Tom standing there.

When the door opened, he was surprised to see her dressed so casually.

Ever since they began to live together, he had never seen how she looked like before going to bed. This was his first time.

She looked very plain and innocent with her natural face that looked bright.

He could tell it had not been quite long she took a shower. Her familiar scent plus shampoo wafted into his nose and he would admit she smelled wonderful.

Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, and she wore a loose black conservative pyjamas.

'Quite strange for a girl to wear that color' He thought.

Her scent missed with shampoo wafted into his nose and he must confess it really was nice.

"You busy?" He asked her in an almost quiet voice.

She furrowed her brows and pursed her lips before answering.

"No."

"You sleepy?" He asked again.

She began to wonder why he was asking her a lot of questions.

"Are we going out?" She paused and quickly rephrased the question. "I mean—do I need to get dressed to follow you out?"

She looked at him very well and noticed he didn't look like someone who was about to leave the house. He wore a loose tee-shirt, shorts, and a house slipper.

"No. Want to see a movie. Thought you should stick around."

Lisa was more shocked than surprised. See a movie? When was the last time she sat down to see a movie until the end?

Most times she went to the cinema with people, they were usually her targets so instead of watching the movie, her mind was always occupied with how best to carry out her mission.

Since she wasn't feeling sleepy plus she had told him she was not busy. Maybe she could just try to see a movie right?

Even though she did not like him and didn't want to sit close to him, she just had to pretend like he wasn't there.

When she agreed, he nodded, told her to join him in the sitting room in a minute, and turned around to walk away.

Immediately he turned, a big smile appeared on his face.

He had been able to guess that she did not like him at all. And there was no way he was ever going to let her not like him.

Lisa, was his mission now.
