Nope. She won't dare

"Are you out of your damn mind? What the hell are you calling me for?" Lisa hissed into the phone as she spoke to Li chen.

But to her annoyance, she heard him chuckle before saying, "You look pretty when you're mad."

She looked around and saw a flashy red sports car parked a bit far from the restaurant.  Li Chen brought out his hand and waved at her.

"What are you doing out? Were you following me?"

"I am a human just like you and I can move about freely." He said with a frown before adding. "And I wasn't following you. I just happened to run into you guys."

"Then go home. It's not very safe for you outside."

"Neither is it safe for you being around that guy all the time. He doesn't look genuine to me."

"Neither do you" She was about to hang up when he hurriedly asked her to wait.

"Let's meet tomorrow.  I have something I want to show you." He said in a serious tone.

She was quiet for a bit before she hung up.

"Still as rude as ever" Li Chen said as he watched her return inside the restaurant.

When she got to their table, she noticed the atmosphere was a bit awkward. Tom's piercing gaze was fixed on her from the moment she entered through the door and even after she sat down, he still didn't stop looking at her. It was even more awkward and uncomfortable because she was sitting beside her.

"Germany?" Tom called her in a serious voice.

"Yes?"

"You know it's inappropriate to do that right?"

"What?"

Tom pursed his lips before looking away from her to focus on his meal. He took the chopsticks with his left hand but found it difficult to eat with it. Pretending to have a broken arm obviously had lots of bad sides to it.

"I'll help you. Let me feed you" Joel offered. He was glad that Tom was finally making an effort to eat.

Ever since Lisa went outside to take the call, he had been looking at the door with an expressionless face. They had expected him to at least say something like what the typical Tom would do, but he said nothing and just kept staring till she returned.

Tom was grossed by Joel's offer to feed him and glared at him, making Joel take back his words immediately.

Through all this, Anna was quiet. She focused on her food instead.

Lisa could not eat hers since she had left the table earlier. Even if she knew there was a high possibility that they hadn't tempered with her food, she couldn't risk it.

Joel cleared his throat and began to explain to Lisa "As his bodyguard, there shouldn't be secrets between the both of you. If you want to take any call, you have to do it in front of him. That way, it would be less suspicious. One could easily assume you're conspiring with someone against your boss here."

"That was from my boyfriend." Lisa explained in her usual cold voice.

When she signed the contract, they had not restricted her from taking private calls. She still had her private life.

Tom's hold around the chopstick tightened, but he did not raise his head. He kept his gaze on his bowl of food while trying his best to feed himself with his left hand.

"You should introduce him to us sometime." Tom surprised them by saying.

Anna looked at him suspiciously. She could not tell what he was up to right now.

"So Anna. Where are you planning to stay for now?" He asked, changing the topic.

"A hotel. You and Joel obviously has to pay for it. I'm not with my credit card and even if I was, I cannot use it. Can't risk them finding me."

"A hotel? Why? You can just stay with me." Joel offered immediately.

"God forbid! I rather die than allow such happen." Tom rejected immediately while slamming his chopsticks on the table.

"What? How... how can you say something like that?" Joel asked in disbelief.

The two ladies were quiet. Anna looked at them amusedly while Lisa's face was down. She wished she could return to the car and have a quick smoke or something.

"Anna, you can stay with me." Tom said to her with a tiny smile.

"I forbid it. Why do you think you are better than me?"

"Oh.. you don't know the answer?" Tom asked sarcastically.

"No I dont. I also see Anna as my younger sister."

"You always have women coming to your house. Have you forgotten the last time one of your women almost got into a fight with her?" Tom reminded him with a frown as he remembered how he had tried to explain to the lady that Anna was just a friend to Joel but she had went wild and began to pull his hair when he stood between the two women.

Anna seemed to also remember that incident and began to laugh.

"It's fine. I can't stay with neither of you right now. My parents would certainly check. I need to stay far till this whole marriage issue dies down."

"What? You're getting married?" Tom spat the water he was drinking out of his mouth in shock. He blushed in embarrassment when he remembered Lisa was beside him and was currently looking at him while handing him a small handkerchief.

As Joel watched him take the handkerchief from her, he grinned and winked at Tom.

"Long story. But I'll tell you all about it later."

Lisa watched as Tom's facial expression changed. For some reason, he looked a bit sad now.

"You're.. really going to get married and leave us?" Tom asked again.

"We are all going to get married someday. But we'll continue to be friends." Anna assured him with a small smile.

"Tom has no intention of ever getting married." Joel reminded Anna.

"You haven't still changed your mind about that?" Anna asked Tom inquisitively.

There was a sad smile in his face as he shook his head. "There's no reason for me to get married."

A naughty smile appeared on Joel's face as he began his illustration.  He pointed at Lisa and began to ask.

"Let's assume you are in love with Germany here..."

Lisa frowned.

"Will you be okay watching her get married to another man instead of you?"

Tom sent Joel a dark glare.

Anna bit her lips as she tried to suppress a laugh.

She also seemed interested in his answer so she folded her hands in front of her chest and looked at him curiously.

Tom turned his head to look at Lisa whose face was expressionless. He had expected her to blush or something, but she still remained cool while looking ahead nonchalantly.

He looked at the side of her face for a little while before turning to Joel.

"Nope. She won't dare."

He said in a low voice while still staring at her.

Lisa turned her head to look at him. She cocked her head to the side slightly and he could see the look on her face transform to one of confusion.

'Why does it feels like he is talking to me?' She asked herself.
