Our Baby? Are You Pregnant?

Nana suddenly realised that she hadn't heard from Ji-Tae since she arrived at Tan's home. She excused herself from Tan and went into her room to call him.

After some seconds, he picked up the call "Hello, my darling," He said with a cheerful voice.

"How can you call me your darling when you haven't checked up on me in days?" She asked, pouting as though he was there to see her face.

"I'm sorry, my love. I've been busy with work," He said, placing his fingers on his lips to silence the lady sitting on his lap.

"So busy that you can't reach out to your girlfriend?" She asked again.

"Baby, can you please just let it go? You didn't call me either, remember?" He said as the lady on his lap smothered him with kisses.

"I... have... Baby, I have to go now, work calls. Love you," He said, dropping the call abruptly and turning to the girl before him.

"Did you have to do that? I was on the phone with her," He said, kissing her gently.

"You should know I'm jealous. I don't like you talking to her," She said with a jealous pout.

"When are you going to tell her about us anyway?" She asked, looking at him anxiously.

"Why do I have to tell her anything?" He asked, roaming his hands all over her.

She suddenly pushed away from him angrily, "What do you mean by 'why do I have to tell her anything?'?" She asked, eyeing him angrily.

"Calm down, baby. You know what I mean," He said, pleading with her as he tried to draw her back into his arms.

"Do not ask me to calm down. Haven't I asked you to stop calling me baby if you're going to keep calling her that too? How am I sure you're not just making a fool of me like you're making a fool of her?" She asked, bursting into tears.

"You should know better than that. I love you, but I can't bring myself to tell her that. Give me some time. I'll resolve everything soon. I promise," He said, placing his hand over his chest.

"You have to do that fast. Our baby needs a stable home," She said, making him gasp in surprise.

"Our baby? Are you pregnant?" He asked, moving closer to her to observe her properly.

"Yes, and my baby needs a stable environment, so you really should tell her off. Besides, how are you sure she's not seeing someone else?" She asked, cocking her brows.

"No, she's not seeing anyone else. She's a nice girl," Ji-Tae said, suddenly feeling bad for Nana. If only she hadn't been so rigid with her principles concerning premarital sex, he probably wouldn't have gotten involved with this one. Now she was pregnant; he knew he had to take responsibility for this pregnancy.

"You can't tell anybody about this, not even her until I figure out a way to do this without hurting her. She doesn't deserve something like this," He said with a worried look.

She probably overreacted. He was busy, and even the manner he dropped the call told her he was preoccupied with work. She'd make it up to him when he returned. It was probably time to give herself to him. He had been patient enough for the past year. Nana told herself as she left the room to join Tan.

"So, what's our agenda for today? Now that your mother has seen me and is convinced we are in a relationship, what else are we to do until the wedding?" She asked as she sat across from him on the rocking chair on the patio.

"You still have to meet Yong for your skincare routine today. I'll check on some things in my office while you're with her. After that, we will go shopping," He said, tapping away on his laptop.

"What are we shopping for? I came with clothes," She reminded him.

"Yes. You did, but they're a little beneath my taste. Plus, we'd have to get you something a bit between classy and sexy for the wedding," He said, still engrossed with his work.

"What are you working on?" She asked, peering over his shoulder to see what he was typing.

"It's work-related. I need to submit a business proposal," He said distractedly.

"I thought these are the things rich guys like you employ personal assistants and secretaries for?" She asked, quirking her brows in a way that made him chuckle.

"I have a personal assistant and a secretary, and their job description doesn't involve this," He said with a laugh. He had been so tensed since he received a call from his secretary about the proposal, but her presence was soothing to his frayed nerves.

"Should I sit with you or go away?" She asked, observing him.

He held his hands to her, hoping she'd take it. She observed his hand. She didn't need anyone to tell her something was happening between her and Tan.

She could feel it every time he gazed at her and whenever he came close. The more time she spent around him, the more she seemed to forget she had a boyfriend. She needed to have her wits about her before she did something stupid.

She moved away from him, playfully dodging his hands. "I won't be your distraction. Please hurry up. I'm bored already," She said, returning to the house.

"You won't run forever. I promise you," He called after her as he returned to his work.

"This has to be the hundredth gown you're saying no to. What do you want?" Nana asked, gritting her teeth when Tan shook his head disapprovingly.

"I told you already, A gown that says 'I'm sexy, but I'm too classy to show it all'. And so far, none of these gowns has passed that message," He said with patience meant for dumb kids.

"I'm not your mannequin. In case you haven't observed, I'm a living person who has her tastes in clothes!" She said, throwing an angry look as she stomped past him into the dressing room to try on some more gowns.

"That's not ladylike. Min-Jung, maybe I need to teach you that too," He said, chuckling at her childish behaviour.

"I do not need any lessons from you. You are too self-centred to teach anyone anything." Nana responded.

Tan smirked back. "There is nothing wrong with putting yourself first."
