Vimor, the cub thought for a moment, taking in his new name. His old one was still a part of him, but the original already moved to accompany the beginning of his life. It is strange how a name makes a person and how the person makes it.
While he was lost in thought, his father coughs. It sounds more like a sneeze, getting his attention, shoving the thoughts back, "Good, while your mother maybe psychic, I can still tell when my children are distracted." The man says with a smile, "Now, I'm sure you have probably given a name to your mother. Though she probably has made the name appear like it was your idea. So did you call her Syren?"
Vimor bobs his head, "Didn't think to ask her since most of what she shared was with her pack. I thought she had not been named since it seemed like ranks were names along with scent and sight."
Blaine and Tench chuckle a little, "We thought the same with our mothers. While we didn't name them, we just yipped or barked. You got a leg up with your mother on that part." This causes Vimor's head to stutter for a moment, realizing his brother's had to learn without the assistance of telepathy.
Their father nods, "While she might not appear that old, in her pack, she would have outlived an alpha, an enviable point since they usually obtain the best meals." A distant look was appearing in the older man's eye for a moment. "I have asked her a few times now. She just showed lone wolf style hunts."
Vimor bobs his head, unsure where the conversation had been going, it was interesting to learn a little about his mother, though. Blaine barks, giving the mental equivalent of a cough, "Your sharing things that should be shared by her." He points out with a little chuckle.
Tench nods in agreement, "Yeah, you're sharing a little more than you should right away." He says with a chuckle. Moving backward a little, "You should probably give him your name too." The dark wolf nods his head a little.
It was just a moment before the oldest wolf bobs his head, "Yeah, it isn't good to not introduce myself. My name is Gerard." He says with a smile. "Now, I am sure you have questions, but I will answer them later."
He says and looks like he is attempting to wipe away the thoughts. A moment later, the man adjusts, "First, I am going to have to explain a few things. We are mostly a masculine race for those who remember what is happening." He says and strokes his chin, thinking.
Tench and Blaine nod a little, "It is a pretty strange thing with our species. We do have sisters. Don't worry about that." His two brothers point out, his father stares at them for a moment.
Shaking his head, the man goes back to what he is talking about, "Next, while we die, usually going to visit Helheim, don't expect a reincarnation or a rebirth, we earn our way back out. If Hel is feeling generous, she will be the one to give our tasks. A little trick is to call her big sis, while she doesn't mind being called aunty, anything more than that gets you shoveling shit on some strange planet."
Tench nods, "Yeah, the planet stunk to the rest of the system. I was tempted to light it on fire." He says, shivering a little, "You get treated like a king, though. Can't really enjoy it when all you smell is crap. The species that produce it reminds me of a rabbit with an ant's exoskeleton. The planet would be so beautiful if you could ignore the smell."
It was a few moments of silence. A few different things were going through the minds of the others. It appears they are thinking about their own personal problems. They take a moment before going back to the conversation, "There were a few times where the tasks were so simple, a human could easily have grabbed it." His father says with a nod.
Tench is the one to put them back on track, "Well, we have already let him know what has happened after 'death.'" Gerard takes and nods her head in agreement with that. Blaine is chucking a little while agreeing to it.
They only were a moment later, "We are going to have to hurry up a little. I probably was being a little too distracted here." He says with a smile, "Now, there is a little bit of a strangeness that our species cause on every planet, some of us just increase growth, other supernatural events, and the last is mutations. If long enough, Tench will cause a spat of blindness, it doesn't go on long enough to be a hindrance, depending." Vimor nods, understanding what exactly his father was meaning.
Blaine nods, "I cause a little more weird weather, basically, sandstorms in areas that shouldn't get them. It was especially weird on this ice planet, they were coated with sand, and suddenly no one could walk." Tench and Gerard are chuckling at that, imagining the species, unused to having real traction falling over themselves.
Gerard smiles a little, "Personally, I cause a bit of something a little less noticeable. It takes a few months, to some years." He says, "Hell, my father didn't even notice what it was, then again, sometimes the stranger ones are almost unnoticeable. Mine was a plant mutation that caused rapid growth. The more times a seed was planted on a particular soil, really it does a reversal of nutrition, it seems. It actually makes forestry a bitch, even more so when it is a new growth forest."
The cub takes a moment to look at him, "so, you would have a forest suddenly growing in a short period of time, would be a little bit more obvious. Do you have any ideas as to what happens when I arrive? " He asked curiously, head tilting a little to the side.
His brothers shake their heads, looking at him, while their father watches, hand moving to stroke his chin. "Well, we aren't sure you just yet. What would you think what happened with your abilities, or maybe something in your thoughts? Blaine lived in a desert world. Well, Tench was blind. So you can see that previous lives do affect our abilities."
Vimor shakes his head, Ensure of what it would be. His hand was moving to his chin and stroking it. His thoughts were going back to his previous life. The only idea coming through was when he thought that he was a psychic. "Maybe, there are going to be people with actual telekinesis or foresight. But how will you know? I mean, it's not going to be evident for a long time. Most people will ignore it."
Gerard nods, "I agree, but we're going to see either way. It's one of those things that you need to know. You don't want to just guess at that. I mean, it's like Tench he didn't know, so when it happened, there were a lot of accidents. Luckily, his world was more autonomous, and which his ability doesn't affect machines."
Blaine nods in agreement, "yeah, both father and I sat waiting until it passed. It was about a half-hour before it was done. After that, we showed him a few areas where he could go without affecting the indigenous populations. He is currently the most traveled of us."
Tench's head waffles back and forth, "well, most of the time, I leave the world before I genuinely see it. Otherwise, I have to go somewhere, I know. Then again, most of the worlds I know are beautiful. It does, however, make it hard to find mates or friends. There are a few other wolves that have the same problem as me."
Gerard mimes, looking at a watch, "I think it's going to be time for you to go. Let's go outside so Vimor can watch as you leave."
Tench nods his head standing up along with Blaine, taking the lead, as everyone starts to head out. Leading back out the door they came in, the group stands in a circle, looking at the dark-furred man. Without any fanfare, he turns, and it almost looks like he fades as a branch, starts to lower in his path. Every time he's takes a step, it almost looks like he has taken five.
For a moment, they all stand there, watching where he disappeared. After a few moments, Blaine claps his hand on Vimor's shoulder. Nodding back to the house, to go back inside to sit quietly for a moment.
