Chapter 5

I set there completely stunned not quite able to process what I was seeing. 'What in the world' I thought as a continued looking on in shock 'where did he get all these cats? And why Did he put them in a wardrobe? Why does he have them in the first place? What the purpose? Is he collecting them?' all these questions zoomed across my mind in a matter of seconds as i slowly came to process what I had just seen. I decided to question he cats for answers. Jumping off the bed I headed toward the assortment of yowling felines i headed to the nearest and most calmest group. "hello, if you don't mind me asking why were you all in that wardrobe" I meowed in the language of the cat's "Hi yourself, if you don't mind me asking but whats a wardrobe" questioned the cat right back "ah sorry," I mewed realizing my mistake " i meant why were you all in that box" " ah, the box" said a nearby calico cat " the thing in black put us in their." "you must be new, well get along just nice" said another cat "who are you guys and why are you so calm," i questioned and realizing something i asked, "and why do you call him the 'thing and black' why not human?" as I gestured with my tail toward Sabule. The calico cat stepped forward drawing my attention toward her " Well I'm Cally and the Minx you talked to first is Tora and the Egyptian Mau that greeted you is Maiu. Were the only ones with names since we were owned. The rest named themselves and you could probably guess their names by their pelts.' said Cally " The reason were calm is because we've been here the longest and have seen this situation play out a lot he takes us out to feed us. But the newer ones are scared of him still." said Mau "But to answer your question the reason we call him 'the thing in black' is because he always wears black when ever we see him and we call him thing is because he doesn't smell or feel like a human. Just like you don't smell like a cat you smell exactly like him." said Cally " hey guys, sorry to interrupt but he's putting us back into the box thing" said Mau. We all turn to look toward Sabule and see that Mau was correct he was starting to gather the cats that had finished eating. Thinking I realized these cats could be useful I quickly turned and looked around. " Hide under the bed you can stay out here with me." I said quickly seeing them stand to head toward Sabule "Alright" said said Cally and Mau while Tora nodded. Watching them dart under the bed I turn to see Sabule finish putting the last of the stray cats into the wardrobe. He seemed to be counting them because he soon started to look around finally he looked at me as if asking where they were. Pointing with my tail under the bed he slowly walks toward the bed " stay there" meowed at them while using my magic to create a shadow over them, and creating shadow doubles that would look and act like them until I stop supplying them with magic. Before Sabule arrived at the bed though a clear bell sounded in the room he quickly collected the shadow doubles and place them in the wardrobe and closed the door " ah, the young master has called. well he was asking about you anyway so lets bring you now since I'm headed their anyway" said Sabule picking me up. ' Darn this isn't going the way i planned they cant help if their trapped in this room ,ah, i know' " follow us to the door and hide beside the frame" I yowled quickly to the cats that were peeking out from the bed .As Sabule turned and walk toward the door I watched as they stalked quietly behind him and when he adjusted me i his arms to open the door and stepped through I immediately tried to escape forcing him to pause in closing the door behind him and allowing enough time for the others to get through the door to the cart that was placed nearby. 'good' i thought stopping my escape attempt ' now they can be of use to me' seeing their glowing eyes peeking out from under the cart i waved my tail at them motioning to them to go hide elsewhere in the mansion. see them nod and run away I purred contentedly.
